Alright. So I'm sure we've all met our fair share of stubborn non-fans.
Some of them our friends, some of them our families.

The stress of pointing out a beach ball to them and them not knowing what in the hell you are laughing about can be brutal.
The only way to get the point across to them is to get them to watch Slane- but they won't do it. Their excuse: " ME NO LIKEY U2. evil "

Because it's not fair to tie them to a chair, force them to listen to Achtung on repeat, while some ZooTV style subliminal messages are flashing on a screen in front of them, I want some lists.

Two lists. Two lists that you think will show someone the light. The light that leads to.. one-dom and beachball knowing-ness, I guess. o.o;;

-Compilation of 10-20 songs.
This is kinda like the Top 10, but tougher, because you have to create a list that you believe someone else will like, while still keeping a good amount of flow.
Make sure specify the version of the song. If you say Please, make sure to mention if you're talking the Single version or the Album version. There's a difference. mad

-Three videos.
More pressure to specify the version of the video.
There is nothing more shocking than two helmets crashing together while you're expecting the Kidnap version of Stuck in A Moment. I should know.

GO NUTS. biggrin biggrin

I converted my husband. I convinced him to go to a concert with me (the Elevation tour), and by the end of it, he was a huge fan. So I think seeing them in concert is an effective, but expensive, way to convert people.

Unfortunatly, I live in Miami where its all about rap hip hop and reggaeton *spews like the exorcist*

Alot of people don't even know who U2 is. They consider people like Ying Yang Twins genious.

That sucks. I just left Miami, it is hard to find a decent radio station down there. It is all awful rap and stuff in Spanish. I live in Orlando. It's slightly better here, but only slightly. There's still waaaaay too many people who listen to rap here.

I tried to get a friend of mine to like U2, so I gave her a tape that I recorded with a bunch of U2 songs. She only had it for a while, when one day I asked her how she liked (I expected her to say 'I love it!') but she said she "lost" it! mad
Yeah I bet she lost it! (She probabally gave it to her dogs)

Ive converted quite a few to the "Church of Bono" as I joke. They all understand why I believe U2 is the greatest band in the world now. Its a glorious feeling!!!!

I've converted... OH, how I have converted..! 3nodding

If you can get people to a concert, then holy heck, that's the BEST way. If not, you've gotta get tricky. blaugh

I converted my high school French teacher with mix tape that started with "In A Lifetime" - Bono's duet with Clannad, and the Pavoratti and Friends version of "Miss Sarajevo." Somehow we got on the subject of Irish music, and she'd mentioned the Chieftains and Clannad, and well... xd

My best friend is now a BIG U2 fan ("I think I'm becoming obsessed with them!") and I got her hooked by picking out Bono's best vocal performances. She's an opera singer, so... I picked songs that showed his progression as a singer, pointed out parts where he was doing this or that... Oh, and it helped that she thought that Larry was the hottest man to grace the Earth. blaugh At the last concert, when he sang Pavoratti's part in Miss Sarajevo, she grabbed my shoulder and said, (all wide-eyed and breathless) "I've been waiting YEARS to hear him do that!!" My work is done. heart

I TOTALLY want to put together "the list" like you ask for... But not tonight. I'll be back later with that. A general list is harder than customizing it to the tastes of your victim mix cd receiver.

Good method 3nodding , but I advocate the brainwashing, it's extremly effective.
