The filly had learned her parent's sleep schedules perfectly, and she knew that there were some days when it was hot enough where they would sleep in for a large portion of the morning. Pascale was usually happy to sleep in as well, but this morning was different! She tip toed away from her sleepy family, and felt the instant freedom from the muggy morning. The sun was already blasting at the land, and she knew that soon it was going to be an exhausted day. Might as well play now, and rest later!
With a huge grin, she bounced forward and into an awkward trot, since she was still not used to her body at all. Her parents had shown them how to trot and get used to their wings, but Pascale seemed to fall behind her sibling's progress. No matter! She wouldn't give up on trying or anything! So on she went with a trot, and finally she stopped herself when she had made it to a very large clearing. Had the land always been as large as where she was standing? Things started to get bigger and scarier the farther she went from her family, so she decided to linger in the current grove she was in, since it seemed peaceful and fun enough!
With a large sigh the filly then flopped herself on the ground and went into her most favorite pastime- cloud gazing! She watched the shapes go by, and tried to interpret what everything was. First she saw a bunny, then she saw a moon shape! What else could she find?

Seraph had escaped from his family in the early morning hours, leaving no one the wiser, not even his siblings as he wandered off to well, wander! His parents were happy enough, but Seraph felt the need to go off by himself, for once. Staying with family was pleasant, but one enjoyed their freedom after all, and Seraph was no different in that regard.
Finding refuge in the shade of the trees, Seraph darted back and forth between the shade and the scorching sun before he reached a large clearing. His legs still a bit wobbly, but Seraph was sure that he'd have it corrected in no time! With a little practice, everything would be fine.
And how fun! In fact, it seemed that Seraph would never see the entire world, if he kept on stumbling into new places. A lone figure, quite oddly colored caught his eye in the lush green of the meadow, as Seraph wandered over. Willing to leave the safe refuge of his shade, he greeted cheerfully, "Hiya!". Being the foal he was, he didn't take into account that what he greeted may not want to be his friend -- but everybody wanted to be friends! Right?

After a calm blink, Pascale was surprised to see a colt's head appear in her eye's view! It had been clouds for quite some time, but now it was a brightly colored colt! And he was friendly, too! So that was nice. "Hi there!" Pascale felt a bit strange staring at him like she did, so she rolled herself over so that she could stand on equal footing with him. The boy was so interestingly patterned, and she stared with delight before raising her eyes to his. "What are you doing up so early?"
The same could have been asked for her, but she decided to go ahead and figure his early morning excursion out first! Did other children like waking up early too? Or was he sneaking away from his own family as well? "As for me, I needed some freedom! But I don't feel that free.." with a light wiggle of her nose, she frowned her mouth a bit before staring at the area around her. "Maybe I was expecting a different feeling, but the only thing I feel is.. lazy."
Maybe the colt had a better idea for her, then? Well, she could ask him later anyhow! "What is your name?" she then said, while returning a smile to her face. "I'm Pascale! And I'm glad you found me here, I was getting lonely!" She had never met anyone outside of her family, so she was thrilled for the company!

The colt was looking down -- an idea he wasn't acustomed to being the small stature he was. Normally well, he was always looking up at something or someone taller! So it was noticed that he was visily relieved when the other foal stood up to meet eye to eye with him. When the other filly asked about his morning excusion, Seraph was glad to answer, "Exploring, of course!". Seraph looked so proud to be saying that (the poor thing D: ANYWAYS BACK TO RP) with a big smile.
Eyeing her with a watchful eye, he noticed her dark colors with such a shade of yellow hair that he had never seen before, considering his parents were shades of blues, whites, and black. In addition, he looked brimming with curiousity at the thought of why she had wings in the first place. However, all of his thoughts were forgotten when the filly answered why exactly she was out. "Freedom." he nodded with a sage smile, looking all of beyond his young age, which made him look, well, funny!
"Too bad." Seraph had a half frown on his own face, after hearing the other filly's expectations and her feeling of sore disappointment. He could almost understand it. Maybe freedom wasn't all it was made out to be? .. or perhaps it was..? This was a thought that Seraph would have to ponder. "Maybe it's just delayed?" The little colt suggested, with a half smile.
"Oh, his name? His mind blanked out for a brief momennt, until he realized that the other was waiting for his answer. "Seraph!" He answered, just as happily as her. "Pascale, it's a pretty name." He nodded after a few thoughtful moments. "Then we can play together!" Seraph did have his other siblings, but meeting new people was always eventful, and so much more exciting! "Well, that solves the problem of your loneliness and laziness then."

Seraph was so kind and nice, and Pascale was over joyed to see his reaction to her! Did he seriously want to play? It was like a dream come true! "Um, you aren't afraid of me or anything?" she then asked, while lowering her eyes a bit. "Sometimes other kids get afraid to come up to me, and they think I will bite them! But that's not true at all!" Her head shook as she finished her sentence, and she felt some relief from Seraph's energy. "But if you don't mind me, I'd love to play!" Obviously her family accepted each other for who they were, but to an outside stranger, sometimes she looked much different then she was. Pascale was adjusting to that lifestyle though, and figuring out what worked best for her. At the moment though, the myth of others being scared was far off since Seraph was much braver then everyone else.
"Where do you want to go play?" she then asked, while looking around the quiet area. "If you had a plan or something in mind already, I don't mind tagging along." She would be thrilled actually, since she wasn't very good at exploring herself. She would learn a thing or two from Seraph, since he seemed able to do anything on his own. Pascale would definitely be like that some day, but for now she would watch the colt and learn as much as she could. That was her favorite thing to do afterall!
"Do you have many family members Seraph?" she then asked, with a perky grin. "Your very energetic and kind, and that makes me wonder if you have siblings of your own too." He was much different then Anthone and Lessia, and that was sort of nice and exciting! "I have a brother and a sister. We all look very different, since my parents are so different." But alas, they were still a very happy family. "Wow I keep asking so many questions and rambling, you must think I'm crazy!" It had been awhile since she conversed so openly, and she wanted to enjoy the time with Seraph while she could!

"Afraid?" Seraph glanced over at Pascale, stopped in his track by her words. Taking a longer look at her, he replied, "I guess I should be. I mean, you have wings and stuff! But.." Seraph had to think for another few moments before he could answer. "You don't .. have a scary feeling. You know?" He kicked a small pebble in his path casting his gaze downwards. "But you don't want to bite me, do you?" Seraph confirmed. "If you did so anyways, we're friends already, so you're excused!" It was a gallant gesture for a foal, but Seraph couldn't help but want to wipe the sad look off her face. Nobody wanted to be sad. "Of course I don't mind!"
Now, he was trying to rack his brain for something fun to do at her question. First things, first. "Come on! Lets get out of this sun. If we stay in it any longer, we might melt." He looked mournfully from the sun to himself and Pascale, the sincerity of his voice showing that he did indeed believe in what he was saying. Trotting over to his sanctuary of shade that he had accompanied before, waiting patiently for Pascale to join him.
"Family members?" his eyes moving over to her, he tried to recall his other siblings. "Me too!" He replied in wide-eyed amazement, when he heard of her other siblings. "I have a brother and a sister. We don't look very different though. My mommy is white. My daddy is white. So we're all white too!" His father, Kai and mother, Nixsi seemed nervous at first, Seraph remembered vaguely. Still, they were trying their best.
Startled by the compliment, Seraph could only reply, albeit it with a pleased smile, "Hasn't anybody ever told you that you're the nice one? And No no. My brother and sister never talk. It's fun to have a friend that does! Besides." His mouth bared into a grin. ". Is that what crazy is?" Seraph heard the term before, but no one would explain it to him. How rude!

Pascale was seriously amazed with the foal in front of her. Her parents had told her that some creatures would be afraid of her, and might judge her firsthand. Seraph was much much different though, and Pascale couldn't believe how awesome he was already! "Well I would never bite you anyways!" she then admitted, while laughing at his playful words. "But I am glad we are friends!" and with that, she trotted after him, while mentally agreeing that it was freakin' hot in the sun.
"Ooh, your family sounds neat!" she then exclaimed, while nodding her head at each of his words. "We both have brother's and sisters..." At his question of the word crazy, she could only widen her eyes a bit, and then smile in surprise. "Crazy hmm... crazy is when you are sort of out there, like.." she paused then, and tried to look around for examples. "I meant since I am rambling on with all of this energy, I was only worried that was making me seem crazy." She had heard her father use the word, so it was a common theme in their family!
"All I know is that my mom and dad say that to each other occasionally. I think my family is a bit odd." she then said, while flinging her hair out of her eyes. "My brother tries to act like my father so much, I feel like everyone is playfully fighting all the time." Hm. Maybe her family wasn't as normal as she thought? Nonetheless, she shrugged her feeling of doubt off and only grinned excitedly at the foal. "So what do you usually play, then? My sister and brother are usually rough housing, so I've never actually played anything before.." she wasn't the type to get herself hurt, of course. "Do.. do you mind teaching me something?" she lowered her eyes with a bit of embarrassment, before bringing them back up slowly.

"That sounds like a good idea." Seraph admitted, partially relieved by the thought that she wouldn't bite him. Not that he'd thought she would, Pascale was proving to be a much better friend than Seraph had ever thought. "We are friends." He confirmed, throwing back his sky colored mane tipped with black.
"Out there..?" Now it was Seraph's turn to think when she tried to explain the odd term. "No, I don't think you're crazy at all! If you talk lots and lots, you'll make many friends like me!" Seraph made light of the term, thinking that friends expanded far and wide. Well, his range did, including the Pascale now. Sometimes, even a rock was a friend .. well, now he wasn't too sure of that. But oh well! It was hardly a topic for a foal to debate whether an inanimate object was a friend or not.
"You can't pick your own family, but thats what makes it interesting!". Seraph chuckled heartily at Pascale's thoughts on her family. "I'd prefer that over a stuffy family any day!"
However, he looked puzzled at the brother trying to imitate his father. That thought had never occured to Seraph, although it may have to his brother Sestos. he didn't know, actually. "That's funny. You should just be you, instead of your father!" Seraph shook his head, disagreeing with Pascale's brother's actions. But what he wanted to do, he could, Seraph leaving the topic alone. "Oh, oh! On fighting, I've learned that its good at long as it doesn't go BOOM! or BAM! Its all good!" Seraph's sound effects added humor to the small colt's words, he himself having a big grin because of it.
"Oh? You don't play? Hmmm." Seraph looked up at the sky, pondering. When he looked back at Pascale, she was already looking down a bit shamedly. "Hey now, don't look so sad. It can't be helped." He said comfortingly to the filly, his black eyes having no trace of censure, or even pity. In fact, he just looked thoughtful. "Lets play .. Find the object! We'll see who gets it the fastest, they get a point if they get it first. and whoever has the most points win!"
(LOL. SORRY FOR THE UNORIGINAL NAME T__T;;;;; Tag, or hide n seek just didn't appeal sad )

Seraph had such a happy outlook on life and Pascale was definitely learning something already from his upbeat attitude. She always strived to be as happy and cheerful as the colt was, but so far he was throwing her efforts into the ballpark! It wasn't that she was envious, she was just impressed by his words. And it was always nice to learn from those who could help her own personal quests!
"Well as long as you are on my side." she then said while giggling and bouncing a bit. All that mattered was that Seraph didn't think she was weird, that was for sure. "If I can't pick my family then I am at least thankful that I can at least pick my friends." Like right now, she had done well in staying around the colt!
At his reaction to her brother, she could only burst out into another laughter, since she assumed the concept probably sounded very weird. Her laugh was luckily subsided, and she perked up with interest at his game request. He had really gone out of his way to cheer her up, and she gleamed excitedly before responding to his words. "Ok! I think that game sounds really fun!" Though... what were good objects to find? Hmmm, she'd have to think very hard on that.
"OK I'll go first... see if you can find, a flower!" She was very proud of herself, and she winked while twirling around all excitedly.

"That is certainly true." Seraph chuckled, taking her words at face value. It indeed, was one of the better things in life to be able to choose friends. Sestos and Shiranai was not someone he would have wished for as siblings, initally, but he admitted, he was getting used to them. "But don't worry! I'll always be on your side. After all, thats what a friend does."
His face lit up at the enthusiasm at his game. He had been worried for a second there! He didn't know if Pascale wanted to play or not. So he was sure glad when Pascale agreed, since they could both have fun together!
The proposed suggestion caused Seraph's eyes to widen, as he settled back into thoughtfulness, "A flower?" Seraph took an abashed glace at the field around them. Indeed, a flower would be suitable for their first conquest! Not too easy, and not too difficult, either! "All right then!" Seraph nodded in eager encouragement. "On the count of three then, let's go look!"
"One.... two.... three!" His voice said the last number as loud as it could, before he darted off. "Flower, flower~~" He sung in a sing song voice, bending down, nosing about in hopes of finding the flower he was supposed to find. Um. Well. It had petals, right? Hopefully, Seraph could find it somewhere!

As the little colt counted down, Pascale lowered her head in command and was ready to dart off herself! She then allowed for Seraph to run off first, and she decided to stay nearby his tracks while keeping her nose lowered to the ground. Her eyes keep seeing grass and rocks, but no flowers! What a shame. "I won't give up if you won't give up!" her cheerful words rang quite loudly in the air, and she scurried back and forth while stumbling on all kinds of things.
After a few minutes went by, the filly lifted her head and halted her movements. She felt like catching her breath, and she huffed and puffed while watching the other colt zig-zag around. Seraph was rather motivated, and she was definitely impressed! "I have to be careful because if I come home dirtied or something, my parents will yell at me!" she grinned despite her family's strange tactics and started moving herself forward again in a comfortable trot.
She was starting to lose hope as the piles of grass and dirt kept surrounding her, but suddenly she saw a small white flower standing strongly on its own! "Oh, oh, over here I think!" The filly then flicked her tail around excitedly while examining the petite little pedals that swayed before her. "Ok, so if there is one here, there HAS to be more!" And hopefully, there'd be some with colors next time!

"Of course, I won't give up!" he heard Pascale, crystal clear like glass! Her challenge only made him more motivated, if he wasn't enough already! But sometimes, motivation wasn't all one needed. Well, not in the pursuit of a flower, anyways. Seraph blinked at what surrounded him. Grass, twigs, leaves, and dirt seemed to be the normal objects for today. He began to look doubtful, raising an eyebrow at the lack of flowers in the wide meadow.
As Pascale yelled another warning, about herself this time, Seraph tilted his head, trying to observe. "I think you had better be prepared for something, if not yelling." A grin accompanied his words. Privately, getting dirty was a necessity of such conquest!
She trotted along, reminding Seraph that he needed to get moving too! Standing around wasn't going to do him any good. But maybe the solution to his problem was looking elsewhere in the meadow! Seraph told himself this happily. In a meadow like this, he would have to find something sometime! He trotted over to another part of the meadow with a smile, eyeing everything in his sight critically.
Pascale's shout made Seraph trot over there, to the spot she was motioning at, as quickly as he could. This caused a few stumbles of course! But he found himself face to face with what was, indeed, a white flower. It was standing there, so poised, and elegant, despite it's size. "Does this mean you win already?" Seraph narrowed his eyes, looking somewhat put out. His cheeks had puffed out, wondering if their game was to end so quickly.
"Lets find another one!"

"I don't think this means I've won!" she then said, while shaking her light head towards his. "I think whoever finds the most.. or even the prettiest should win! There are plenty of colors around, and I'll bet you can find them before me." Pascale was hardly the competitive type- she usually let her sister win to avoid any kind of punishment or war. She found herself following her father in terms of staying tidy and presentable. Her mother and sister could be as dirty as they wanted, but she was hardly interested!
As the youngsters darted away from each other once again, Pascale found herself looking at similar things, and she realized how dirty the ground really was! "This place needs a serious makeover." she then said to herself, and she glued her eyes all over in hopes of finding some pretty colors. To her sadness, nothing was to be found! Apparently she had gotten lucky with that white flower from before! But at least she had found something on this long and hard voyage.
"Have ya found anything yet?" she yelled the sentence rather loudly into the air. To her surprise, Seraph was pretty close in distance, and she wobbled over to where he was investigating. "This is haaard!" she then said, with a usual pout. "I wonder why all of the flowers are hiding from us?" Maybe Seraph would know- he seemed like an expert on most subjects! "At least we are getting a good exercise from this." she looked down at her legs and noticed they were wobbling somewhat, but only because they were tired. It wasn't everyday where Pascale over-exerted herself or anything! Her sister would so be proud.

"Yeah!" Seraph said excitedly, nodding somewhat violently to agree with the added challenge. "I bet we'll both find them at the same time!" Seraph probably was competitive .. but not the point of insensitivity. However, he always found himself scolded by his father or mother. Go figure!
But like the filly, the colors were nowhere else to be found. Seraph had gone to the extent of nosing through some weeds to search for a hidden flower. But even that ended up in futile. "Y'know, I thought this would be somewhat easier." He wasn't commenting to anyone in particular, using his hoof to paw mindlessly.
He heard Pascale's question, louder than he thought he would, figuring that they were pretty close. Had he wandered over? Probably. Her wobbly legs didn't escape Seraph, looking sheepish when he realized that he wasn't in much of a better condition. They had overdone it.. but it hadn't seemed like it! Fun made time pass by more quickly, he told himself happily.
Walking over, Seraph putting the mission to find a flower aside. He relaxed, letting himself fall into the soft patches of grass near Pascale. Pulling a tuft of the fine greenery up, he munched on it nonchalantly while he listened to the filly's complaint and questions. "I don't actually know.. Maybe the meadow doesn't want us picking its flowers, so it hid them all." That would explain it very well! If meadows could do that.. but that didn't occur to a foal's simple minded ways of thinking. "And maybe a bit too much exercise? Hopefully, we'll have enough strength to get back!" .. well, if they didn't,that wouldn't be pleasant. Not pleasant at all, Seraph wincing when he thought about it!
"Lets make sure we do get back then."

The idea of eating was pleasant to Pascale's eyes, and she munched at some grass as Seraph took his own bites. Thankfully the grass felt good overall, and the green threads had some moisture on them as well. So it was a double plus for her stomach! "Mmmmm!" she then said, while watching Seraph as he spoke. At least she wasn't the only one who was kinda tired! That would have been embarrassing!
"Well, even though our attempts sorta failed, it was a lot of fun you know?! I think its ok to make mistakes like this." she then nodded happily while making sure he wasn't upset at the idea of not finding flowers. "I think we will be ok moving on out of this area, too. You and I are stronger then we look." She then stood up, and puffed her shoulders out naturally. "We've come this far in our journey, so there is a definite need to make it home!" She was playing around with her voice now, and acting as though she was a famous explorer or something. She and her siblings always made-believed randomly, so there she went again pretending to be high and mighty."We are confident, we are strong!"
After her triumphant moment, she giggled at Seraph and took another helping of grass to savor and enjoy. "But seriously, you've been an awesome playmate. I'm glad I ran into you, my siblings will totally be jealous." A sheepish expression landed on her face and she realized she could one-up them now in experience! "I hope I could at least be fun for you too?"
