WELCOME!

I'd like to welcome you to the Dungeons and Dragons Guild! I'd also like to thank you for choosing us to be one of your hangouts! Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is a great way to make new friends while enjoying the creativity of your imagination. This guild is also a great avenue for making Gaia Gold! blaugh

There are a number of things to be said before you run off to wreak havoc on the guild (the more havoc the better! Statement seconded by Bigfoot). So please bear with me, and read on!

Blue Llama Demon
Rules
This is what you won't do while you are here. If you violate these laws, I will be paying you a visit... and I wouldn't think you'd want one under those circumstances.

The Powers That Be
You Shall Not
1. Post any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, racist or otherwise objectionable.
2. Promote the idea of, or directly harm minors in any way.
3. Impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, GAIA Online officials, Forum moderators, guide or host, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
4. Post any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.
5. Post any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
6. Intentially posting inflamatory statements to get responses - otherwise known as "Trolling".
7. Make any threats - real or otherwise - of any sort regarding other Users or the GAIA Online Service.
8. Promote the harm of an individual, group, or institution - otherwise known as "Flaming".
9. Posting things that stretch the page.
10. Quoting any complete posts on the first page of an RP.

This is a role playing guild, so when in an RP all out of character remarks should be made in quotes with "OOC" as the speaker or marked OOC in some way. You may be literate or use ** to describe motions as you choose. When quoting another character, please only quote up to two or three times in a post. No text talk and no leet speak, unless you find it absolutely necessary. Such things really get on most peoples nerves after a while.
Romances are allowed, and you can kiss and sit on laps in public, but that's it. Keep passionate kissing and lap dancing upstairs in a sound proof room, if you please.

What is D&D?

This is a great starting point for anyone who is brand new to the game:
Wizards of the Coast-D&D

Basically, D&D is a table-top role-playing game. You create characters, then play out your character. There is a game leader who runs the story and we call them the Dungeon Master or DM for short. As a player, you are the Player Character or the PC for short.

The DM's job is to attain players (generally 4-6), create a story and 'direct' the players to play out the story.

The PC's job is to run through the DM's story (try to break it!). You can do this by solving obstacles, or hacking and slashing your way through obstacles (including monsters, dragons, and people!). By overcoming obstacles, you gain experience points which allow you to level your character up. (think WOW, GuildWars, Neverwinter Nights, Baulder's Gate, Final Fantasy, etc.)

-Necessary Equipment-

For the guild, there is nothing you have to buy.

In general, for a player, the best book to attain is the Player's Handbook. For a person looking to run campaigns, the Dungeon Master's Guide is handy as well as the Monster Manual. Those three books are considered the 'Core Books' in D&D.

For this guild, its nice if you own the Players Handbook, but as I said, it isn't necessary, as anyone who does own the material can help you out. You also will need character sheets. They can be downloaded on the Wizard's website. The most common one can be found here:
v3.5 revised

Also, TSR has set up a nifty little quickie for D&D information:

Meet The Crew

Captain: Bigfoot9000 (owner)
Vice Captain: Raeden Michelle (aka Savindus)
Vice Captain: The Signature Reaper (TSR) (owner)

Crew: Rkytz

Bigfoot9000
My (real) name is James, I'm now 16 years old (going on 17 this Aug. 200 cool . I live in Southern California, and my shoe size is 14 and a 1/2 (That why I named myself Bigfoot).

I've been playing D&D for 2, maybe 2 and 1/2 years. I usually play the barbarian and/or fighter, sometimes falling in to cover cleric when we come up lacking players. (Usually turning into a war cleric during creation.)

Around last year my DM from my D&D group introduced me to these great books (and gave me three of them). I call them the Slayer series because there are nine books, but they are probably better know as the Gotrek & Felix saga/series written by William King. Upon finishing one of the books (which turned out to be the 2nd in the series) I hunted down and bought all the others so I could read them in order.

For those who may be interested in looking them up, the books are as follows (in order of course); Trollslayer, Skavenslayer, Daemonslayer, Dragonslayer, Beastslayer, Vampireslayer, Giantslayer, Orcslayer, and finally Manslayer. You vampire lovers out there may like Vampireslayer, and if you like it you can find a few more vampires (both new and old) in the Manslayer book.

Raeden Michelle
I am a girl, my shoe size is between a 6 and an 8 depending on the shoe, and I kind of like jazz...

I have played many games with Rhesus Krist *looks up to post before*. He was the one that officially got me started in D&D, although I had played (*TRIED*) before. I have played V:TM (which isn't horrible), BESM (which is too ambiguous for me), homemade created games, M:TG, Star Wars (bleh...wasn't bad..I'm just not a Star Wars fan in general-ducks while things are thrown), Munchikin, Stargate (well...we started to make characters, but the DM didn't start the game), D20 Modern, hmm..what else? I dunno. If you want to know anything else about me, feel free to ask...

b_milum
Ello there my name is b_milum and Im an alcoholic...oops...wrong intro. Uh ... Well let me see. Im 22 years old and I have been playing D&D for waaaayyyyy too long. Im an avid lover of art and music. I work too much and play too little. I am always willing to help the guild in any way. I run the XDCL and Shining Hand Guild so if you have any questions just shoot me a message. Oh yeah and Rkytz is my best friend in real life.
