. o O ( This is a Private RP for Teles and Taelence. <3 )

The day was slightly cloudy, yet still warm and soft with the touches of the coming summer. To say it was overcast would be somewhat close to the truth, though there were plenty of holes for the sunlight to spill through and warm the earth.

Oddly enough, it was reminiscent of her own situation with her personality and Taelence. Rather cloudy, and yet whenever the female kit was around, she seemed to bring about the light in Teles. Perhaps it was just how the charcoal kit thought of and felt for the beautiful, pristine vixen that allowed her to act less guarded and frigid.

She didn't know if she could admit it aloud or to anyone else, but Tael was her light...that one special fox that...well, she loved, very much.

It wasn't something that Teles was quite used to yet, but admitting it to herself was the first step forwards, no?

She'd invited Tael out into the sunshine today, and it was about that time she'd suggested. Leaping lightly from the low but thick branch she'd been resting upon, Teles stretched her limbs lazily, eyes closed to fully reveal the peculiar markings upon her eyelids. Those dark orbs flickered open as she looked around for her friend, the slightest of smiles perking the corner of her mouth upwards.

"Taelence~?"

The vixen that Teles spoke of was currently hiding in the brush, trying her hardest not to giggle and give away her position. Her bright blue eyes regarded her best friend wickedly. Tael was feeling playful today and poor Teles was to be the victim of her exuberance. All she needed was the right moment.

"Oh you're making this too easy Teles," Taelence breathed. She crouched down and...sprung! She landed squarely on Teles, laughing.

"Oh ahahaha!" she exclaimed. "Hello love, miss me?" She batted her eyelashes at Teles.

Teles sure didn't have to wait long for her friend to reveal herself. One minute she was walking upon the grass and the next she was sprawled out upon it, with Teles upon her. She shrieked lightly and wriggled herself so she was on her back, looking up at Taelence.

"Tael." She breathed before grinning and leaning up to flick her tongue against Tael's jaw in a warm greeting. "Now why wouldn't I miss you? I think the question should be: Did you miss me?"

Her grin was quirky even as she batted her tail against Tael's, front paws lightly splayed upon her friend's chest.

Taelence giggled as she began to tickle Teles.

"Now why would I miss a horrible rascal like you, hmm?" Tael raised an eyebrow and kept tickling. "Oh, I suppose that if you ignore the sarcasm and the cynicism, and all the tail fur ruining, I suppose that I missed you." She grinned wickedly. "I don't think you'd let me not miss you."

Oh Teles, you're going to hate me forever. How can I ever make up for what I've done to you?

"Because I'm a lovable horrible rascal, that's why!" Teles grinned amongst her yips of laughter at being tickled. Panting, she wriggled against the grass, attempting to get away from Taelence before giving in...to her need for revenge.

"Of course I would never let you not miss me~!" She said with a grin, shoving at her friend with all four of her paws to send her toppling over before rolling to her feet and onto her friend to extract said revenge in the form of even more tickling.

Only when she felt she'd satisfied her 'need' for revenge did she stop and nuzzle at her friend before backing up to allow Tael to sit up.

"So, how're you today, Tael?" Taking a deep breath she shook herself and set about putting her ruffled fur back in its rightful place before helping Tael with her own if she hadn't finished yet.

Taelence yelped as she was pushed upwards and then laughed as she was tickled. She allowed Teles to fix her fur and then sat in front of her friend.

I feel horrible. I shouldn't be here. I don't deserve your friendship. You're going to hate me.

"I'm ok," she said, waving at a passing bug that flew into her face. "I'm bored actually. I haven't had a chance to really get out lately." she smiled at Teles. "What about you? How have you been?"

Teles straightened, curling her tail around herself in a familiar gesture, the tip flicking to-and-fro in a contented way. "Hmm, I've been alright. It's been nice to sit up in the trees and watch the rain fall the past couple days... Though I guess it might have been better with some company."

Tilting her head to the side, she gave Tael a small smile. "Aside from the rain - and the chance that the mud could dirty your beautiful self - why haven't you been able to get out? ...have you been feeling alright?"

At her questions, she scooted forwards just a pace or two, brushing her tail against Tael's forelegs in a comforting movement before re-curling it around herself. Her concern was genuine, because something didn't seem to add up. Whether it was just the "okay" or the fact she hadn't been able to get out, Teles didn't know, but she was sure she'd find out, one way or another.

I've been inside with Chocolate. And I'm a horrible, hateful hag for not telling you.

Taelence laughed.

"The only reason I fear mud is because you're sure to splash me with it," she said teasingly. "No, I'm feeling fine," No, I'm not "Things have just been a little crazy lately. Crimson going out at all times of the day, coming back at late hours. Unfortunately someone has to look after the apartment. And Crimson's been getting ready for something, but I'm not entirely sure what it is."

Yes I do. And it's the only chance I have of keeping your heart from being broken.

Tael seemed a bit pensive for some reason, but Teles tried to ignore it for the most part. As Tael mentioned Crimson's current habits Teles tilted her head. Maybe that was what was troubling Taelence?

"Does Crimson normally do things like that?"

It was a quick question, and afterwards Teles inched forwards again and bumped her nose lightly against Taelence, a sly grin appearing and remaining for a few seconds.

"Sounds like you could use a good run about, then~? Stretch your legs and leave your worries behind?"

She stood up as she questioned Tael, eyes glinting with barely contained excitement; the prospect of a run sounded enjoyable, and if it would get Taelence over her worries, even for a bit, then it would be worth it. Sometimes it was good to just get away from what was troubling herself, and then when she came back things were easier to deal with. Like getting a fresh start~

Taelence noticed the glint in Teles's eyes.

A run! she thought exuberantly. I need this. She kneaded the soft earth between her paws.

"No, not often. Makes me think she's up to something big," Real big. "You want a head start? You know that you have a hard time keeping up." Tael said, teasingly. Truth was that Teles could probably outrun her if she wanted. But teasing Teles kept her from telling the truth, and it bought her time. Time, something she needed and had very precious little of. She would have to tell Teles, but not before she was ready. Taelence only prayed that she would be brave enough to face the consequences when the time arose.

Teles pranced in place, feeling as though she had springs in her feet. Her tail drifted behind her, and she twitched it as Taelence agreed teasingly.

"A headstart? My, things must be pretty crazy if you've got so much cooped up energy you're allowing me a head start~" Teles grinned, her words lighthearted. "But sure, I'll take that headstart. I don't want to see you flying past me too quickly, after all."

She flicked her tail beneath Tael's nose, teasing her friend before she sprang forwards into a quick, loping run, gradually lengthening her stride until she was running, easily covering a fair distance. She glanced back over her shoulder, to Tael, with a yip of glee. "Com'on, Tael! Light that fire inside you and get moving!"

And with that, their run was on.

Taelence watched her friend take off and then started after her. She eased into a loping run. Freedom was hers at last.

There's no way to describe a good, muscle stretching run. But it was one of Tael's favorite things in life. She caught up to Teles and they ran through the forest's paths together.

We'll never be happier than we are now, she thought. This is perfect. Why does it have to end?

Can't we just keep running?

Teles could only grin and toss her head as Tael caught up to her easily. On a whim, she gathered herself and sprung over her friends back, falling behind a pace or two as she landed running, but easily catching up after a moment with a rather kooky grin.

It seemed much easier to keep Taelence in good spirits while they ran, and so they stretched it out longer, continuing to run even as they started to dig into their energy reserves. Teles occasionally did other small, friendly things: wriggling her eyebrows, lightly battering her tail against Tael's, just generally being a bit of a goof. It was their time, and Teles at least intended on making it a damn good, fun run.

Taelence seemed to need that much, at least.

They weaved through the forest, sometimes sticking to the wider trails to run abreast each other, and sometimes through the underbrush where they had to pick their own way or play follow-the-leader, but eventually they emerged into a short clearing where the footing underneath started to become more sandy.

Was there a beach or clearing with a nice deep pond nearby?

Interested in finding out, Teles swerved off the beaten path back into the trees, taking in deep, sniffing droughts of air to scent out any nearby water sources. It was somewhat faint, but the animal trails were easy enough to follow and eventually, they stumbled into a somewhat sandy (but mostly grassy) clearing with a fair-sized pool that was both fed and drained by a stream.

Slowing to a gentle lope and then a trot, Teles looked around.

"Looks like we've found something here, Tael~!" She grinned between puffs of air. Their run was long and good, and coming across this little gem was just as good. They could probably find some little bits to eat, as well...if there were no fish around.

Taelence surveyed the pool and the area around it. It was beautiful. A tiny paradise just for them.

"Teles!" she exclaimed. "You're brilliant! This is perfect!!" Tael threw herself into the pond, making a huge splash and drenching Teles from nose to tail-tip. She turned to grin at Teles, but at the sight of her soggy friend she burst out into uproarious laughter.

"Teles! You look like a drowned rat!!" Taelence threw herself onto her back in the shallows and kicked her legs in glee. The laughter wouldn't subside and soon she was gasping for air.

Teles had half suspected Taelence would throw herself into the pond...but she just wasn't expecting it so soon, and when the wave of water came, she could only do so much...and even then it wasn't enough.

Sure enough, she looked like a drowned rat, as Tael put it...but only on one side. Her other side (while still having some wet patches) was mostly dry.

"Correction, Tael... Only a half-drowned rat." She intoned dryly, a somewhat pouty-slash-miserable look upon her face as she turned to show Tael what she meant.

Surely that would cause another bout of laughter in her friend, to which the charcoal fox couldn't help but grin at and take a running leap into the pond, throwing herself over Tael in the process. After submerging herself, Teles' head popped out from beneath the surface and she shoot it to puff out the fur somewhat so it stuck to her less.

"There, now I've been fully drowned. Satisfied?" Her pink tongue flicked out towards her friend, her tone good-natured and teasing.
