Yeah, just like Doctor Who, Torchwood is going for a bit of a different format next year. So far, 5 episodes have been confirmed that will air over 1 week. Well, TV Guide says that. John Barrowman has been signed up to play Captain Jack and filming begins in August. Quote: TV Guide are reporting that John Barrowman has been signed up for Torchwood Series Three. The site says the series will begin filming in August for transmission on BBC1 next Spring. So far only five episodes have been confirmed, which will consist of a five part story to be shown over one week

I don't like the way they plan to format that, I mean yes you want your torchwood as soon as you can get it, but I am a loser an watch MANY other shows as well, plus there will be no time to disuss and chat in between which is importent to us, the fan. (I'm new by the way...HI lol

I kind of heard about this back when John Barrowman was on Ready Steady Cook. He said about how it was going to be a bit different, but went into no more detail. It certainly would be different.
If it's on everyday, what would it go on instead of? It could replace Eastenders for a week xd (Except that's a bit too early.)
Torchwood 4 could be found on Albert Square!
I'm going to stop going on about Eastenders now.
I'm glad it's coming back at any rate.

I have no idea how they'd air XD But it's probably one long story apposed to 13 that are different with one linking idea/nothing in common.

Yeh, I did prefer the second series as it seemed that every episode was linked to the previous one (well, more than in series one anyway.) It just made more sense.

I may end up cowering in the corner saying "Stupid Hobbitses, they ruined it!" if they use the five-episode-over-one-week format. Or maybe not. xd

dizzyjessd i have not heard of it airing like this does it air the same as in england (you are in america right?!?!) its going to be harder to watch due to work i dont think they thought of this very well xx You might want to mention who this post was aimed at. The majority of this guild is English. Here's some confirmage for everyone from Julie Gardner and Torchwood Magazine; Quote: According to the latest issue of Torchwood Magazine, Executive Producer Julie Gardner has confirmed rumours that the show will move to BBC1 with a much shorter run. The magazine reports that the third series will consist of five episodes forming one continuous story with at least one penned by Russell T. Davies. "It's the longest and most ambitious story we have ever made, so be prepared for some shocks and surprises!" Gardner told the magazine. She added: "Life at Torchwood is never quiet or easy and the whole of Captain Jack's world is about to be turned upside down!" The new series will begin filming in August for transmission in early 2009.
