Okay, so, since this a forum not only for POETRY but pretty much any type of writing, I decided to post one of my story ideas here.

Dante kidnaps girls for their hair for soulful paintbrushes. He says it gives him a better idea of what to paint. He develops secret relationships with the girls he uses the hair of and then kills them--which is why the relationships are secret. Dante becomes famous for his paintings. As he becomes famous, it gets harder and harder for him to keep his relationships secret. He is found out and then killed by the brother of one of his victims.

Name: Dante Pierce

Age:
27

Motive things:
Dante is an artist whose goal in life is to pain a picture with soul. A beautiful, innocent soul.

Occupations: Waiter and Artist

Waiter:
Has worked at a renowned Italian restaurant for three years.

Artist:
Dante learned to paint from his mother as a boy. He didn't really appreciate art until high school when his parents divorced--because art was how his counselor told him to try it to vent his emotions. He went to college to study art and film when he was 19-years-old.

When he was 21, he left school and started working at several restaurants. He met a woman at one of them who taught him how to make custom brushes. She made him one with her own hair and, with it, he painted his best piece ever. The two developed a quiet relationship. Dante began to consider her his art inspiration.

One day, the girl made a brush from her hair for a friend. When Dante found out, they fought. The girl fell to the floor hard, cracking her skull--she was dead when the paramedics showed up. Dante continued using the brush with her hair until it broke--when it did, Dante felt his inspiration for art was gone completely, until he met another young woman who had beautiful hair.

Again, he developed a quiet relationship with her, cut off her hair while she was sleeping, then killed her so she wouldn't ever give inspiration to anyone else but him. He buried her in his own backyard, so no one would know what he had done.

He continues this pattern throughout the story until he is famous and is caught and eventually killed.

Okay, so, that's the story idea pretty much, still in the sketching and skeleton stage. I have a question though, is human hair okay to use for paintbrushes? I don't know if it would work for sure. I mean, it might, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm going to be doing a lot of research on this project, and yeah... Anyone have any ideas or tips that could make this story even better?

It's seems quite plausible. I want to read the story badly! Such interesting ideas. I say go for it! 3nodding

We all make mistakes sometimes but...

Well it depends on the type of art... some paintings are painted with a stiff brush, others the brushes are soft.

Honestly, I'd like to read it when you're done. ^_^

Um... would human hair be a stiff brush or soft? I'm guessing soft. And, also, do you think that water color portraits would be considered good with human hair paint brushes?

Well i guess it could, I can ask some of my friends in art major. I know that when my mom paints pots the brush tips tend to be soft. Water color tends to use soft unless you stipple. Then it's a more course hair...

Woohoo! I have resources! Lol, xDDD. I was thinking I might have made one... but, seeing as I don't know how to make brushes and I don't have the kind of hair I'm considering for the story, I'm not going to.

Well looking up how to make brushes can be pretty easy. How to make a paintbrush Of course it says nothing about human hair, but in some cases horse hair isn't too far away from human hair when it comes to texture.

No prob, oh, and I spoke to some of my art major friends and they said that there are actually paintbrushes made out of hair... they're just hard to find on the internet.
