Canyon Field
The Canyon walls toward high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces themselves are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces themselves are very damp (moss is also present due to the continuous moisture) which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff, announcing an option for land-based pokemon such as to grab and swing; however, these cannot bare that much weight and WILL break if such a thing happens. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Visually is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone.

Jackie's face was hardened as she entered the stadium, flicking the on switch to the camera on the trainer platform. Rumors spread quickly, and this was completely true within the circles of Pokemon Officers. Her next opponent was a child of Team Rocket members... Was she a criminal? Only time could tell. But Jackie was ready to take her on with all she had.
Ferrum shot out of her pokeball, raring to fight. She shared a resolute sense of justice with her trainer, but was sure that this trainer was bad. If a shiny pokemon and another shiny pokemon had an egg, was the egg anything but shiny?! Certain she had this all figured out, Ferrum strode confidently onto the field. But peering over the edge of the canyon, she slunk back carefully. Heights weren't Ferrum's forte, and the water at the bottom looked very far away....

((Side Note: Kailana is not a grunt, just the spawn of a Rocket couple. >w<; ))
"Great, just my luck," she scoffed, fully aware that her opponent was a member of the police force. I'll be sure to pummel her pokemon into the ground for Mom and Dad. Kailana took her spot in the other assigned room, letting out a small yawn as she placed the microphone on her red scarf.
Abyss came out bucking slightly, tossing her body from side to side as she hated being in a pokeball and having to be put in one for this particular field didn't rub her the right way. Her hooves gripped at the edge of the canyon ledge, her red eyes fixed on her far-off opponent.

A small grin slipped onto her face as she saw her beautiful mareep, ready and raring for battle. "Let's get this battle over with, Abyss!" She spoke truimphantly into the speaker, "Let's start things off with a thunder attack!"
The mareep lowered her head as she began to focus her energy, clouds beginning to form overhead as her fluffy body began to spark. "MAAAREEP!" She sent her stored energy into the clouds in the form of a large bolt, the electricity making a sizzling noise before the clouds unleashed her attack hurtling to the ground, aiming for Ferrum.

Jackie smirked as the Mareep charged electricity. She was hoping that Ferrum would get to try out this move in a real battle. "As we practiced, Ferrum! Earthquake!" Paralyzing attacks had been Ferrum's weakness in the past, but they had worked hard to conquer her weakness. Watch this.
Ferrum caught a gleam in her eye as she watched the sparky Mareep. Slamming her foot against the ground, she sent jagged cracks deep into her end of the canyon. "CRAAAW!" Rocks shot out from the force of her attack, and flew into the air. The rocks absorbed the shock of the Thunder attack before flying toward Ferrum's opponent.

Her red eyes widened as her body froze with terror, in a matter of mere seconds she was no longer visable, covered in rubble.
Kailana tilted her head at the happenings on the screen with her one good eye. Now that's odd, she thought, keeping calm even though she couldn't even see her conceited mareep. "Abyss, show no mercy, thundershock then body slam!"
"Reep!" a cry was uttered from beneath the large rocks that were soon sent flying through the air from her electric attack. She quickly hopped atop them to cross the canyon's opening, rushing as fast as she could with her head lowered at the crainidos.

Ferrum lay frozen, having been hit dead-on with the Mareep's electric attack. Paralyzed from nose to tail, she twitched angrily, glaring at Abyss.
Jackie gaped in dismay as Ferrum fell to her side from the attack. Not paralysis! shuffling through her bag for a parlyz heal, her face darkened. She had used it last week in that battle against the pikachu... "Ferrum! Brace yourself!" she shouted from her balcony. Glaring at the opposite trainer, she bit her lip. This was going to be a long battle...

She grinned, slowly glancing over to the Officer opposite her, showing her her glinting pearly whites. This is about to get good, she turned back to Abyss, taking a minute to ponder their next move. Her composure relazed a bit as she watched the screen, sending forth her next attack into the mic, "Hrm..Let's try an iron tail!"
The mareep slowly trotted away from Ferrum, but she wasn't running away, no. She broke out into a sprint, running straight towards her opponent, tail glowing brightly with a metallic shine. "Ma..." she muttered under her breath, getting ready before she lept, swinging her body round to gain leverage and speed for her attack, "REEP!"

Ferrum twitched again just the Mareep swung around for the attack, avoiding some of the blow. But Abyss' aim was true, and Ferrum was rewarded a knock on her leg. I'm not out for the count yet, sheep! she growled, continuing to test her fritzy muscles. They only jerked randomly in response.
Jackie winced as Ferrum continued to twitch grotesquely on the canyon field, but she didn't seem too hurt by the Mareep's blow. Even so, you're going to pay! she thought, hotly protective of her battle partner. But Ferrum didn't exactly seem on the road to recovery from the Mareep's blow. "Hang in there, Ferrum! You can make it!" she spoke into her mic.

Kai chuckled when she heard the officer's hopeful voice, "My my, already so confident? The battle's not won yet." She looked to her pokémon, happy to see her so glad, she was practically glowing. "Alright Abyss, body slam her into the canyon!"
Abyss grinned, her appearance matching that of her owner. She wanted to beat the sense out of this twitching cranidos, and she didn't care about the cost. Finally, a battle where she could take the lead; she swelled with confidence and feral desires.
"Mareep!" she wailed, dashing onto the other side of Ferrum and putting some distance between them before she began to charge towards the ancient creature, her fluff sparking from her excitement.

Jackie glared at the other trainer. Now it didn't matter if her relatives were of Team Rocket stock - this one was just the same, even if she wasn't emblazoned with a bright red R. She bit back insults and chose to only say, "You're right. It's not over yet."
Ferrum twitched angrily at the other opponent's comments. "Then why did you have to paralyze me? Fight me like a real pokemon!" She growled to the Mareep. "You little wailing fluffball! You wouldn't be able to hit me if you didn't use underhanded tricks like this!" she taunted. But the Mareep's aimed well, and Ferrum was awarded with another bruise forming in her thick gray hide. The cranidos gritted her teeth, and refused to give satisfaction to her opponent by crying out. "Come on. Is that all you've got?!"

Abyss glared at the spazzing cranidos, "(Why you--)" The bobber at the end of her tail began to glow once more, her fluff sparking furiously.
She watched her mareep carefully, knowing just what attack she wanted to use. "Iron tail!" She called out into the mic, hoping this attack would better give the dino a better sending.
She snickered, "(Forgive me if we like to fight dirty.)" She refused to say anymore before she swung, aiming for her opponent's legs once more.

Ferrum twitched once more as the Mareep gave a frustrated swing of her tail. Timing it perfectly, she missed the Iron Tail by mere centimeters. Ferrum fought off the paralysis long enough to release a growl-like bark of laugher. "Impressive! One day, you might actually train hard enough to hit me! Did your-" she jerked her head to indicate Kai "Teach you that one?!
Staggering to her feet, she glared at her opponent, and gave a cheeky grin before falling to her side again, twitching - the Mareep's electrical attack wasn't through with Ferrum yet.
Jackie snickered quietly to herself. Even if she couldn't understand the conversation going on between the two pokemon, she could guess at what Ferrum was saying. She got incredibly cocky when weakened, and it sometimes worked to her advantage.
Crossing her fingers, she waited for the moment when Ferrum would be able to strike back.

Her face contorted as she didn't feel the thwap she should have. Abyss's red eyes narrowed at Ferrum, her anger growing into hate as she wanted to run head on towards the cranidos.
Kailana shifted, grasping the rail bar of her platform, "Abyss, keep your cool!"
She couldn't take it anymore, she knew what she wanted to do and she went ahead anyway. She charged towards Ferrum once more with her whole body, disobeying her owner.
