BATTLEFIELD RANDOMIZER! Everyone in the Stadium watches with rapture as the arrow spins, finally slowing down to stop on... THE FIRE FIELD! "A series of thick rock pillars, all different sizes of height, reach towards the stadium ceiling from a pool of hot lava. While there is a fire-proof net far below to catch any pokemon that falls off the platforms, the rock pillars themselves are very hot to touch. They can cause burns if your pokemon stand still for a set period of time. The air around the field is very heavy from the extreme heat. "

Jackie strode confidently into the stadium, throwing up her hands in defense as a heat her head-on. Ugh. Not again. Ferrum isn't going to like this... she thought, recalling the last battle she had waged on the Fire Field... No matter. This was a new field, a new opponent, a new win. Loosening her scarf, Jackie held out Ferrum's pokeball
Ferrum burst out, not quite expecting the bright flames to meet her eyes. Shaking her head against the head, she peered around the stage, looking for her opponent.

Sunnie walked slowly into the stadium, fully expecting the wall of heat. Ehh, I hate the fire stadium... she thought as she took out a chilly water bottle from her bag. I wonder who I'm fighting? I really should get more info about my opponent before I walk into these things... She reached on her belt for Glace's pokeball, and released him onto the field.
"Agghhh! Hot! Hot hot hot!" Glace shouted, hopping up and down to avoid standing on the scalding ground for too long. Man, what a place for a glaceon like me to end up... I better get rewarded big time for this... He began glancing around the stadium, looking for the enemy pokemon.

"Ferrum, try to surprise him with a quick Head Smash!" Jackie yelled, pointing at the ice-type pokemon.
Ferrum quickly ducked behind a rock pillar, having spotted the opponent. Having never fought a Glaceon before, she stared as it bounced on it's paws. Running quickly behind the Glaceon, Ferrum leaped over a few loose stones to aim her thick skull at the other pokemon. "Cran-doss!"

"Ahh, ouch!!" Glace shouted as Ferrum's headbutt shoved him a few feet and made him stumble. Luckily he caught himself before he tripped over a cliff into the lava. Ick, that was close... I mean there are nets, but you never know how sturdy they are... I once heard of this one pokemon...
Sunnie looked at Glace and sighed. She could tell that his mind just wasn't on the battle at hand. "Glaaace, concentrate!" she shouted. "Use tackle!!"
Glace looked up at his trainer and nodded. "Hey, you little big-headed lizard thingy! You better watch out for meee!" he shouted at Ferrum as he made a mad dash for him, ready to tackle him into oblivion.

Ferrum blinked as the Glaceon shot towards her. Rolling away nimbly (for a cranidos), Ferrum neatly dodged Glace's tackle. Heh. I'm pretty good. She began to look down her nose at the Glaceon, and even strutted a bit past her opponent.
"Ferrum, don't get so cocky!" Jackie shouted, grabbing her head in frustration. Hubris had brought Ferrum down hard in the past, and her current attitude wouldn't help. "You're not strong enough to act like that!" Sighing, she glared at her pokemon. "Crunch, now!"
Ferrum's emerald eyes flashed as she dove for the Glaceon, jaws wide open to take a huge bite out of an ice-blue foreleg.

As Glace tried to jump away to dodge the vicious little Cranidos, he didn't get far - Ferrum had latched onto his left front leg. "Agghhhhh!! Owww! Ow ow oww owwww oww ow ow!" Glace shouted, shaking his leg wildly. Finally he shook Ferrum off... but at the cost of getting pretty badly scratched and torn up by his sharp teeth.
"Eeeek! That looks like it hurt!" cried Sunnie at the not-so-pretty sight of her pokemon's leg. She almost fainted for a moment, but then took a swig of a water bottle she had brought along with her and took a moment to regain her composure. "Whew, it's hot in here... err Glace! Use Bite!!"
Glace licked a bit of his wound in an attempt to clean it, and then nodded at his trainer's command. He bared his own fangs - gleaming in the light of the fire like rows of miniature knives - and lept towards Ferrum. If he could bite his foreleg, then Glace'll just have to bite his back leg!

Ferrum leapt back from the shining teeth of the Glaceon, but just wasn't quick enough. Stumbling over her tail, she flipped over and felt a searing pain in her hind leg. Glace had made perfect contact. "Agh!" she gasped, wrenching her foot out of his jaws, but recieived a few more good cuts across her foot for her trouble. Doubling back, Ferrum examined her leg. Not too bad, but the Glaceon would have to pay.
"Ferrum, go ahead with a good Head Smash!" Jackie yelled. Unconcerned with the hit to Ferrum's leg, she was sure that her Cranidos would be able to handle it. But a few more attacks like that... then she would be worried.
Ferrum charged forward in her favorite move, skull pointed straight at the Glaceon. "Craaaw!"

"Agghh!" Glace cried out when Ferrum made contact with his ribs. He almost fell over, but he managed to regain his balance at the last moment. Ugh... this hurts.... he thought to himself. Did Ferrum perhaps bruise something on Glace..?
"Ahhh, nooo! Bad little pogey!" Sunnie said, sticking her tongue out at Ferrum. "Come on Glace, show 'im what you're made out of! Ice Fang!!"
Glace bent down and snarled at Ferrum as freezing breath became visible around his muzzle. His fangs turned into razor-sharp icicles, and he lunged at Ferrum. "Let's see you get away from this!!"

Ferrum tried to roll away from the Glaceon's fierce attack, but the hot stones under her hide were just too much. She uncurled just as her opponent sunk her icy teeth into her side. The pain didn't hurt much, as the cold ice sunk in around her wounds. For a second the hot air around her was pleasantly gone... but the numbing coldness set in. And spread. She opened her jaws to retaliate to the Glaceon's jibe, but they were frozen in mid-speech. "Aaaaw?" she said, trying not to panic. "Not again."
Jackie twisted her hair in her hands in frustration. You're just going to have to take it, Ferrum! She lifted herself higher on the platform, trying to see the battle through the waves of blurry heat coming off of the battlefield. "Brace yourself!"

As Sunnie was taking a drink from her water bottle, she spat her water out of her mouth with laughter as she saw how ridiculous Ferrum looked - frozen with his mouth wide open. "HAHAHAHAHA! So silly!!" She looked at the angry trainer across from her. "Umm, sorry, don't mean to be mean... Alright Glace, use Tackle!"
Glace smiled as he saw Ferrum freeze, and his smile grew larger when he heard his trainer's command. He leaped into action, dashing towards Ferrum with great speed, hoping to ram into her and send her flying.

Ferrum glared in disgust at the other trainer, mirroring her trainer's look. She had to shut her eyes quick as the Glaceon ran - Tackling her straight into a hot stone pillar! The heat was intense, but the bruise on her side felt even worse... Nevertheless, she prepared herself for the next blow... The numb feeling throughout her entire body was fading due to the heat of the battlefield, but Glace was already preparing his next attack!

Sunnie looked at Ferrum, frozen in ice, and felt bad for making her so mad. "Err, sorry.... sorryyyy..." she said, blushing in embarrassment. "Glace, your last attack was GREAT! Use another tackle!"
Glace, who was still running after ramming into Ferrum, merely did a U-turn back in the other direction. Barreling towards her just as fast, he lowered his head for another tackle. "Ready for another flight? HAWWHAWWWWW!" Glace said as he hysterically started laughing.
"Oh, you silly pokemon..." Sunnie mumbled, giggling at her corny little Glace.

Wiggling her tail hard, Ferrum could rock back and forth in the ever-melting ice. If I can just spin myself just right... but she was interrupted by the Glaceon's silly jibes. Rolling her eyes, she concentrated on melting the ice by scooting closer to a thinner portion of the rock, where the heat was most intense. But the Glaceon was coming too fast!
Jackie winced once more as Ferrum was hit dead-on by the Glaceon. This battle wasn't going to be so easy, obviously. But she spotted a large crack in the ice encasing her body. "You're almost free, Ferrum! Keep trying!"
