About Kaze

About Taelence______________________ Taelence wandered down a forest path she'd never been on before. The good thing was that "Chocolate's and her's" lake was near by and if she got lost she could just follow the river that fed the lake and find her way home from there.
Truth be told, she was out here for a particular reason. The strange Angelic, Kaze, had come out here earlier and Tael wanted to know where she was going. There was something about her, something Taelence couldn't quite put her paw on, that drew her in. And when Taelence had a feeling about a fox, you be hard put to stop her from following her instincts.
A small noise coming from the brush at the side of the trail made her jump. Then she laughed as a squirrel jumped past her and she moved on.
"I know I saw her come this way," She said to herself. "So where could she be?"
Taelence walked the trail farther as the light grew dimmer. Nightfall, a lovely time of day, but if Taelence didn't find Kaze soon she would have to call it quits. As much as she wanted to find the fox, she was sure that Crimson wouldn't be happy if she stayed out at night.

A black fox ran in the slowly dimming daylight. The darker it got, the more at ease Kaze felt. She ran past a small river, and was soon greeted by a large lake at the end. She glanced around, then slowed to a walk. Someone was trailing her and she knew it. She could care less about a fox that was determined to find her. The daylight still struck cords in her.
"No, no!" she whispered shaking her head. "No, I'm sorry - I didn't mean it. I'm sorry!" She held her head as she collapsed. "Someone, help me!" Her whispers were nightmares. Things that happened to her in the past often popped into her mind during the day. Nighttime saved her. Kaze felt safe at night. All alone in the dark, where no one could see, hear, or hurt her.
In the trees, an orange, yellow, and white fox followed her. From the fox's view, as Kaze looked around ferociously, all that was seeable was a pair of red piercing eyes. Eyes full of pain, hurt, and sadness. Words are the enemy! Kaze thought. WIth one last glance, the black and gray fox flapped her white, clipped, and broken wings and flew up into a tree. There she perched, searching, watching, and waiting, high above the lake.

Taelence had given up. If Kaze didn't want to be found then she wouldn't be; it wasn't like she could make the mysterious fox just appear out of thin air. So Tael found the river and followed it back to the lake.
But instead of going home, she sat there and watched the sun go down. Her thoughts turned to Kaze's behavior. She was hurt, mentally, anyone could see that and it made Taelence's blood boil. Instinct ran wild through her veins. It told her to find the poor thing, to make her pain go away. Kaze reminded Tael a bit of Teles and maybe even a bit of Amber. Her extended family, besides Chocolate. The ones she would do anything to protect, take any pain, any suffering. Yes, Kaze was like them to her, and she would do anything she could to help.
In a sudden uncharacteristic bout of rage, Tael picked up a rock and threw it as hard as she could into the lake. She watched it go down and then listened to the splash. She hung her head. What was she doing out here?

Kaze sat in the branch. Her nightmares were slowly but surely fading away for the night. One more memory set her off. After all the suffering, she no longer cried. Instead, she grabbed a branch near her and tore it off. It was a very sturdy branch, but came off easily in her paw. She threw it hard and it landed on the ground. It landed next to Taelence.
Perfect landing you dumb branch! Right next to a fox... Hey that's that fox from the shop! The one bugs me like crazy and never stops talking! She knew the fox was likely to react, so she ran from branch to branch to get away. Kaze settled on a tree limb that was almost in the exact same spot where she threw the branch from, but opposite it. She knew Taelence wouldn't turn that way. Just to be sure, she slunk back so she couldn't be seen, but she could see Taelence still.

Startled out of her thoughts, Taelence looked down at the branch. She turned it over, looking at the broken end. She glanced at the tree line.
"What the...?" she muttered to herself. There was no way that this branch had just fallen from the trees. Sure it had been windy of late, but the tree line was a good three feet from where she stood. No innocent gust of wind could have thrown the branch that far. And the broken end of the branch, that had been snapped clean off. Someone had pulled the branch by force from its tree. And then thrown it at her.
Why would anyone throw a tree branch at her? To scare her off? Well whom ever it was could show their face and deal with her. She wouldn't be frightened off like a little school girl because of a tree branch.
No, she thought. I'll just see what else this person has in store. Who knows, I might just catch him.
Again she settled down and stared out at the lake. The fireflies were just starting to come out and Taelence never tired of watching them.

Kaze sighed. She was a little upset that the branch hadn't hit Taelence, and also relieved Taelence didn't see her. She didn't plan on showing her self to the fox below, but she was bored out of her mind. So she started thinking.
How is it that this strange, hideously bright, fox knows my name, yet I don't know hers?! The lake is a lovely place, but now thanks to her I can't go down there. My first day, and everyone is all over me! A female fox who is intrigued with me, a male who is a jerk, another male who is a mind-reader, and then everyone else keeps watching me!
She crept further into the darkness, the shadows the trees created loomed over her as she still pushed further and further. Her eyes were glowing red. Kaze got ready, then took off at full speed towards the end of the tree line. As she reached the end, she leaped into the air and flew at an incredibly fast speed. This was done deliberately. She wanted to get to the other side quickly, but also wanted to play with the innocent fox. Revenge was the one word that constantly influenced her thoughts.
Revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge!

Taelence heard rather than felt another body rushing through the trees. But she barely moved.
Games, she thought. Whom ever it is is playing games with me. Why? I suppose it doesn't matter. If I ignore them enough, they'll come out and try to bother me. They'll act like a child who isn't getting enough attention and cause more havoc. That's ok. I have the patients to wait.
So Tael sat and listened to the crickets and the peepers. She laughed lightly, the sound of a summer breeze on the winds, light and happy.
"They're singing to me!" she exclaimed to herself.
Cheep, cheep! Croak! Cheep, cheep! Croak! Rrrbit! Cheep, cheep! Croak! Rrrbit! Cheep, cheep! Croak! Rrrbit! A soft symphony just for her. She began to sing sweetly and clearly.
"You can try to resist, Try to hide from my kiss, But you know, But you know, That you can't fight the moonlight. Yeah.. Deep in the dark, You'll surrender your heart, But you know, But you know, That you can't fight the moonlight," Taelence broke off and laughed again, humming the rest of the song.

Kaze landed roughly. She hissed and rubbed her wing. She had given up. Her wing hurt too much to fly any more. She sat in the tree, caressing her broken wing. the lyrics that she thought fit her popped into her head:
'I cannot find a way to describe it It's there inside; all I do is hide I wish that it would just go away What would you do, you do, if you knew What would you do
All the pain I thought I knew All the thoughts lead back to you Back to what was never said Back and forth inside my head I can't handle this confusion I'm unable; come and take me away
I feel like I am all alone All by myself I need to get around this My words are cold, I don't want them to hurt you If I show you, I don't think you'd understand Cause no one understands'
They fit her so well. No one understood her. So confuse and lost inside. All alone although so much attention is given to her. And then the one reason she rarely speaks: My words are cold, I don't want them to hurt you.

Taelence listened as the rustling stopped.
There! she thought and stared out across the lake in the direction of the mysterious person's hiding place. She sang so her voice would carry across the water to the one watching her.
"So let go, Jump in, Oh well what are you waiting for? It's all right, Cause there's beauty in the breakdown. So let go, Just get in, Oh it's so amazing here, It's all right, Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,"

Kaze backed up quietly, as not to make a sound. The voice sang out and across the lake. It was Kaze's turn. So she replied with lyrics of her own inside her head.
I'm not afraid of anything, I just need to know that I can breathe, And I don't need much of anything, But suddenly
I am small and the world is big, All around me is fast moving, Im surrounded by so many things, Suddenly
How does it feel... To be, different from me, Are we the same, How does it feel... To be, different from me, Are we the same, How does it feel,
I am young And I am free, But I get tired and I get weak, I get lost and I can't sleep, But suddenly....
The fox below obviously wanted Kaze to show herself. Small chance that would happen. This was a game to her, but it didn't seem like one to Taelence. At least not in Kaze's mind. As she furthered herself from the piercing, blood-pulsing voice, her eye become redder and sharper. Fear, and pain flashed in them.

Taelence started towards the other side of the lake, still singing.
"And it's a leap of faith, When you believe that someone's out there, It's a leap of faith, When you believe that someone cares, Oh, And when I call out to you will you be right there? Right there,"

Kaze scurried back, and sent back her lyrics.
Try to tell me what I shouldn't do You should know by now, I won't listen to you Walk around with my hands up in the air Cause I don't care
Cause I'm alright, I'm fine
Just freak out, let it go I'm gonna live my life I can't ever run and hide I won't compromise Cause I'll never know I'm gonna close my eyes I can't watch the time go by I won't keep it inside Freak out, let it go Just freak out, let it go
Just let me live my life I can't ever run and hide I won't compromise Cause I'll never know I'm gonna close my eyes I can't watch the time go by I won't keep it inside Freak out, let it go
Panic-stricken red eyes flashed in the shadows. Kaze gave her wing one last rub and turned and ran. Her paws softly hit the branches, not even making a sound.

Taelence sighed as she listened to whom ever it was run away. She sat down and watched the fireflies. She wasn't made for these kind of games. Hell, she didn't play games with people. Why was she still out here? She quietly sang for herself and no one else, especially not the one in the trees.
"I’ve lived through my share of misfortune, And I’ve worked in the blazing sun, But how long should it take somebody, Before they can be someone. Cause I know there’s got to be another level, Somewhere closer to the other side, And I’m feeling like it’s now or never, Can I break the spell of the typical?"

Kaze slowed her pace, eventually stopping. Her ear twitched and turned in the direction of Taelence's voice. Curse my good hearing!
I couldn't tell you why she felt that way, She felt it everyday. And I couldn't help her, I just watched her make the same mistakes again.
What's wrong, what's wrong now? Too many, too many problems. Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs. She wants to go home, but nobody's home. It's where she lies, broken inside. With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes. Broken inside.
She rubbed her wing as sang the lyrics in her head. She started to whisper very quietly. "What's wrong, what's wrong now? Too many, too many problems."

Taelence's voice grew stronger and she sang for no one but herself. And in that instant, the freedom she felt rang in her very soul.
"Trapped inside an ugly life Stuck in my cocoon I needed some wings to make it right I had to fly away real soon I busted out and headed straight Now I'm loving life Cause nothing can get in my way I'm the prettiest thing in the sky
Break me, break me You think you can take me, take me
Oooh your wrong, wrong You've been held down too long, long I'm gonna go, go Cause this is the way I wanna live There is no alternative,"
She whooped in delight and ran to the lake's edge. She splashed around and belted out her voice to the sky.
"All the colors of the world Are painted onto me I'm sick of being a black and white girl Now finally I'm free I busted through the atmosphere Into the clouds I'll fly Cause up on top is where I stay Now I'll do what I like
Break me, break me You think you can take me, take me
Oooh your wrong, wrong You've been held down too long, long I'm gonna go, go Cause this is the way I wanna live There is no alternative,"
She danced and jumped, allowing the fireflies to cling to her fur until she had her own spotlight.
"Everybody knows That I can't told to be anything but me Be who I wanna be Change my life so suddenly Just like... Ha! I'm free Now that I know that life is cold I can always be strong Negativity's gone I was off but now I'm on!
Oooh your wrong, wrong You've been held down too long, long I'm gonna go, go Cause this is the way I wanna live There is no alternative."
