KeganDarkness Sasha lay down by the river poking her paw around in the sand, so her paw sunk deep enough to feel around. It had stormed yesterday, and the day after a storm was always the best day to find a new rock. But as of yet, not luck. She sighed, though her smile did not waver, she knew not every day would go exactly as she wanted it.
With a giggle she turned, and trotted over to the water, bending low she took slow deep drinks and satisfied the slowly advancing thirst, but she didn't want to stop looking, not yet. She was sure she would find something, lunch could wait. She turned back to the sand, green eye's shining as she poked her paws into the dirt.Kittyintheraiyn Sobie was not a fan of water. But he was thirsty, so he made the trek down to the river, it wasn't so bad, not like the ocean anyway.
After dipping his face down to drink, Sobie refreshed made his way away from the waters' edge, he wanted to head for the shade trees nearby, but then his gaze caught sight of a pretty blue female, and she seemed to be searching for something.
"Hello miss, can I perhaps be of some service? Unless I am mistaken it appears you have lost something."KeganDarkness Sasha looked up at the male, his tan color bringing out the purple vibrantly and she smiled softly as her dark green eye's darted up to meet his. Her tail bobbed softly and slowly from side to side. She was sure she must look odd, front paws burried deep in the sand.
She slowly took them out, with a slight sucking sound and smiled at him shaking her head from side to side. "Well no Sir, I haven't really lost anything." She turned, and dragged a red leather cloth out from behind a bush.
She moved it till it was right in front of him, it shone with different colorful or fossilized rocks, and her own eyes shone with proudness. "I know it's silly, but I collect rocks, and well. You always find the best after a storm." She smiled widely and tilted her head to the side with a soft giggle.

"Oh." He murmured dropping his eyes to her collection. "It seems I am mistaken then." He bowed his head to admire the stash, his face held a polite smile in check. "Not at all silly, you have made some very lovely finds." He raised his head, usually at this point, Sobie would give a nod and wish 'good day' to the other, but today he found himself wanting to entertain the idea of some company. He raised his head again, his smile wasn't slipping. "I do not have an interesting hobby, nor do I know what exactly you are looking for, but if you would not mind a companion, that is if I am not intruding. Perhaps I may join you in your search?" He blinked and shook his head a little, "But where are my manners, I am called, Sobie."

Sasha looked a bit taken aback by his name, realizing she had not provided her own she flushed a little. "My name is Sasha," She raised her head a bit to look up at him, before continuing. "And I would love the company, all I'm looking for is.. well one interesting, or pretty rock."
She smiled, and moved her cloth out of the way before returning to his side. "The best way I find, is to do this." She buried her sandy colored forepaws in the ground, shifting her weight so they shifted under her, turning up sand. She turned her face to look down, but she felt, nor saw anything.
She was still smiling softly, though she came up empty pawed. She turned her green eye's from the sand, to Sobie with a giggle. "Not always a success, but I don't mind looking is half the fun." Her own smile was wide, and sweet.

"A pleasure to meet you Sasha." He grinned as he spoke her name. He watched as she turned the sand with her paws, came up empty and her smile never wavered. He decided then that she would have a beautiful stone to add to her collection, he would get his paws dirty, and perhaps get to know her better at the same time. Sobie clumsily dug his paws into the sand, trying to match the actions she used and sputtering a little when in his exuberance, flung a little bit of sand into his own face. "Ah.. haha." He wiped it away and moved to where he thought the sand might be dryer, digging and shifting but none of the rocks he uncovered held anything special in his eyes, they were rough and irregular, plain in color, no luck yet. He worked in silence, but then he glanced up at her and pulled a question from his mind. "What started you on this search initially, if you do not mind my asking?"

Sasha smiled back, and dipped her head a little in greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you too Sobie." Her tail bobbed a little as she turned the ground, before stopping to watch him try. She couldn't help but laugh at the scene, though she raised her sand covered paw to quite it, she found such luck and her giggles claimed the air around them before being swept away by the wind.
As she kept searching around her spot, she looked up at him when he asked her how she had gotten started. "Well.. The first one I can remember, it when it was just me and my sister. There was a frightful storm, and we found shelter in a tiny cave. During the storm a tiny rock -it looked huge to me then-, rolled in with us. It matched the storm, dark, with lines of yellow running threw it like the lightning outside." She smiled and shook her head, "I haven't thought about that in years. Thats probably why I only collect them after a storm, or a special event."
Her eyes shone and she plucked her paws out deftly, before moving a bit farther away. She began to turn up the dirt a bit, then suddenly her eyes widened. In the time it took to blink, she found her front leg's buried in the sand of a collapsed sinkhole. Her tail end high in the air, and her front end buried to the teeth quite literally, she shook her head till her mouth was free to breath without inhaling sand.
Her green eyes shone, and her whole back end scrambled backwards, but with no avail she could not remove herself. She looked up at Sobie, and laughed at her own predicament. "Well my good sir, this concludes our lesson on sinkholes." Her smile didn't really waver, but was replaced by a look of concentration. Her tounge stuck out one side of her mouth, and her brow furrowed as she tried to figure out how to get out of this one.

Sobie found that he didn't mind the laugh that tickled the air, but was caused by his actions. He continued to dig and move around, but his ears were trained in her direction so that the story was heard.
"That's very nice," he began and started to see the charm in such a collection, then Sasha slid into the sink hole. At first Sobie didn't understand what was happening, he had not encountered sand that would suddenly swallow someone up, he moved to come to her aid. "Concludes our lesson, or begins it? What can I do to help you out of the hole?" He was standing at her front end, but not too close because he didn't want to push more sand at her face on accident. He thought perhaps he could pull her from behind, but again, he didn't want more sand to sink further.

Sasha looked up at him and smiled softly, though even she found the situation a little compromising they would work it out. "Begin's I suppose," She looked up at him, "Well the only thing I can think of is pull. I haven't ever gotten stuck in one so big, or deep before." She blushed a little, and tilted her head. Her back end scrambled for a second but still, no luck.
Slowly she stopped, and lay down panting just a little. Her chest caused more sand around her to sink a little. But she wasn't panicking, she wasn't screaming, or yelling, she just looked at Sobie, with trusting eyes. "We will figure something out, I'm sure."

"Well," Sobie bowed his head to her and moved around to her other end, he hooked his fore paws around her ankles, "if might be good for you to hold closed your eyes and mouth, so we don't get stray sand in them."
Splaying his hind legs, and leaning back with his full weight, and though some sand was caving further in on Sasha, he was sure that she would come free right away.

Sasha felt the ground free her with a slurping sound, as she spun threw the air, and landed with a great thud ontop of Sobie. She looked down at him, flushed and giggling. "Your good at that." She said smileing.
A little dazed she couldn't figure out why his face was so close, then suddenly she realized, they were nose to nose. Gasping she scrambled and ended up thudding onto her side beside him. Her green eye's were wide, and her chest heaving.
But suddenly she smiled, "Ya know.. You were actually kinda cuddly." She flushed and giggled nervously when it slipped out, covering her mouth with a sandy paw, her eyes half closed in embarrassment.

"Oof!" Sobie grunted, with surprise when Sasha came free much swifter than he expected and she landed on him.
Sobie's own face was slightly red behind his pale fur, this was quite a close position for them to fall into, though he noted that her green eyes were very bright and beautiful so close up.
When she scrambled off he was still a bit dazed, "Well, maybe I should take up damsel rescue as a profession?" He chuckled at his own joke and then was stopped short by her next comment.
"I'm cuddly?" The thought had never entered his mind, no one else had ever said it to him. His face was more red now and he stood, and offered a paw to help her up, then wiped some sand from his fur. "Well." He was suddenly speechless.

Sasha looked down for a second before taking his paw, and it didn't take long for her to right herself. She took a second to clean herself off, "Yes." She said softly, taking a deep breath and looking into those purple eye's you could almost fall into. She shook her head, and took a step back flushing, her head dipped low now.
She took a minute to recover, and inhaled deeply. Then turned again with her unwavering and true smile, "But if you rescue all your damsels as such, I'm sure you will break a few heart's. Now," She looked around as if conspiring, and leaning close to his ear she whispered. "Back to the hunt my dear Sobie."
Her body turned giggling, and she began to delve her paws into the ground, a bit away from the sinkhole, but nothing special turned up, all dark grey and lumpy. But she still smiled, she would find one, she always did no matter how long it took.

Sobie was standing there awkwardly until she spoke again, "Oh, right." He began again, digging, but he wasn't paying much attention to what he was uncovering, it was much of the same.
"I, that is, do not have, plural, not even singular, actually. Damsels." He had never had this much trouble forming a sentence in his life. With his face to the dirt he managed to get it out while shoveling quantities of sand and earth. Then his paw touched something solid and he shifted the sand to expose a lumpy but smooth textured rock, he was almost ready to brush it aside when he decided to turn it over. The reverse side glittered in the sunlight, he held it out to Sasha.

Sasha smiled, and said nothing, she knew not what to say. She stopped turning up sand when he motioned to her, and she trotted to his side. Her eye's lit up, as she looked at it, and the glittering side cast dots of light across her face.
She smiled up at him, and it lit up her whole face. "Sobie, its... its... beautiful!" She quickly went to his side, and began to nuzzle him in thanks without thinking.

Sobie begins to hand it over to her and then she nuzzles him, he doesn't know what to say, but he smiles. "Ah, you can have it if you would like? Or we could keep looking if you want to find one for yourself." Since meeting the female, he had been flustered and not himself.

Sasha looked up at him, her green eye's shining. "Are you insane? It's perfect." She took a step back, and took the stone, taking it over and placing it with her collection. She slowly packed up the cloth, and smiled as she grabbed a little string on it, and slipped it around her neck slowly.
Turning, she smiled at him, and her belly growled loudly. Hearing her own hunger she blushed giggling. "Guess Ive been at it a while." She said softly, looking around into the distance.
