Domonque curled up under a shrub, ears dropped and a tired look in his eyes. The lonliness that diseased his heart, his life, was getting to him more and more every second of everyday. His 'family' had left him long ago, his few friends never came by, so he was left alone with silence and depression.

His dark eyes scanned the area for any sign of life. With no movement in sight the male sighed as he dug deep to find the beat that would erupt in him.

"Find me here and speak to me. I want to feel you~. I need to here you~. You are the life that's leading me to the place where I find peace again..."

Walking slow, with lazy steps that led to her dragging her paws through the leaf litter that coated the forest floor, Delilah made her way to no where in particular. The day was cool and the light breeze through the trees was like a voice. With her ears perked she stopped and stood still, it was a voice, and the words that slowly came drifting on the wind like a whispered prayer drew her forward with careful steps. She didn't want to make a sound and break the spell of the soft voice she heard.

Spotting the deep colors in the shadow of the shrub he was curled beneath would have been harder if not for the bright white of his tail and the markings on his back. Delilah wanted to just listen and not interrupt, but when she had gotten close she mistakenly trod upon a fallen twig that snapped loud in her ears, she smiled in that 'you caught me' sort of way and bit her lip, thinking that maybe he would continue.

"You the strength that keeps me walking. You are the hope that keeps me trusting. You are the light to my soul. You are my purpose you're-"

Domonque's voice stopped dead on as the sound of a snapping twig hit his ears. Panicked, he stood on edge as he crawled deeper in to the shrub. Black red eyes stared as the bright female like a deer caught in head lights. Her smile gave no ease to him. He knew well that looks could deceive if needed.

The male didn't know whether to run for it or stay in his place. Dropping his ears closed to his head Domonque set a paw forward, but set a back foot back incase he needed a fast escape. Breath on edge and raspy he made moves and dared not to speak. Domonque waited to see what the stranger wanted.

User ImageHer voice was very soft and held a rhythm, though she would never call it melodic herself. "I, didn't mean to interrupt. Please, it was very beautiful, continue, I was just passing through."

Delilah caught the panic in his posture and gaze, but didn't comment on it, and she wouldn't give chase if he did bolt. She didn't out right smile at him longer, but her face held no negative emotions. Her front foot still held in the air from bringing it up after snapping the twig, she wanted for him to continue, and figured that he would only if she was on her way. The paw came down, as if she might be on her way again.

"Whomever it is that your song is for, must feel the same.."

Panicked eyes soften for a split seconded before dawning a glaring personality. Even if the female was just passing as she said he still did not like the fact he was interrupted and no longer had the solitude he begged for, yet hated at the same time.

Domonque slowly slipped from under the shrub, eyes kept on the intruder.
His body stood stiff as he warily stood his ground as he watched her with careful eyes.

"The song," Domonque whispered like the sound of an echoing violin, 'it is has a dark beauty built with in it and is sung for no one, for I have no one to sing for..."

User ImageAs he moved from the shadows of the shrub Delilah tilted her head at his stiff movements, perhaps he had old wounds he carried, though she saw no visual scars. She still held the pose that she would be moving on from here, she thought it less threatening than if she were to move his way, or even sitting, when he spoke.

She bowed her head, then looked at him again with her head slightly tilted.
"I was, some distance off, when I first heard your voice. Maybe I misheard, but I thought it was longing. To see someone, again. Sorry, that I just assumed that it was for someone. It was not my intention, to offend you, sir."

Domonque's glare calmed a bit as he saw the female would most likely no threaten him in anyway, for now at least. He relaxed his body and curled himself on the ground.

His eyes went back to a look of pain and exhaustion as he sighed and looked up at the bright Ulaya.

"My song is a song of longing, but I do not long for someone. It is more of a longing for something, something I know I will never have and was never meant to have."

Domonque paused as his mind wondered through his past memories.

"I'll never have it no matter how hard I try and how much I cry out for it."

User ImageDelilah settled into a seated position now, she was touched by his sorrow and no longer giving the pretense that she would be leaving his presence at any moment.

"Oh." She was just a little confused, "So then, why morn it, if its futile." Delilah wasn't much of a fighter herself, she hadn't encountered anything that made her feel that degree of longing, but she did want to hear more. "Isn't there, things that are more easy to achieve, that can also bring you happiness?"

Silence filled the area as his mind dug through chests he had hoped to keep locked the buried deep with in his darkened mind. A sly and sorrowful smile was now painted on his face as his eyes gained a dullen and hypnotized look.

Domonque began to spin his tale to a tune of his own. His voice was calm like a nights wind but stung like crows screech in the darkest of nights.

"I mourn for it is all I can do. I can no longer cry cause my rivers are now dry. I can no longer hide behind a mask of happiness cause my mask was crushed so long ago and I fear hiding behind that sullen painting of lies and deceit.

I once had my happiness in the form of two girls. One who was always so cheery with delight. She was like a treasure I had found in the slums of the world. Not tainted and smudged by the demons of this Earth.

The other was like a light among darkness. She brought happiness and comfort to all around. A motherly yet child like figure she was.

They brought me more happiness than I could afford. Happiness I never thought I could find. Yet, it was short lived like a flower in a desert storm. My daughter, my friend, they left like everything else, like everyone else.

My comfort, my light, my happiness all faded by. Darkness engulfed my life once more like it always did. I was reminded once more that my happiness never lasts. Everyone I meet, everyone I hold on to always leaves, always scars me and throws me down. They stab a stake through my beating heart that beats no more and knows no love or emotion but hate, fear and envy.

Nothing can bring me happiness and nothing ever will. That is my tale and it hold no lies for lies are for those who wish to hide under the night of a mask that will break with out fail."

User ImageDelilah thought she could almost hear the music that should accompany such words, like lyrics, a sad and sorrowful tale. It moved her almost bringing tears to her eyes, "I'm sorry, for your loss, sir, but..." she spoke softly, Delilah couldn't fathom such a tragedy in this slow and peaceful world that would steal two females from his life.

She grasped at comforting words that drifted around in her head, she had never personally felt such loss. "The ones that, leave us, I'm sure that, they do not want us, to morn them forever. It is horrible, truly horrible that, they passed and left you behind alone."

She dared then to move closer to him, creeping slowly as to not alarm him like before. She wanted to touch a paw to him, to give comfort, a connection, for someone in so dark a time. "I'm just, a lone girl that likes music and tunes on the wind and peaceful days, but if you wanted, perhaps, I could seek you out and I could listen to you and maybe little by little, lift some of your sorrows..."

Unless he objected to it with his words or actions, she would sit near to him now, and watch him with gentle eyes, "If it will lift you to speak about them further, I will lead my ears to you."

Domonque jerked back a bit as the female came closer to him. He made no move to shoot off in to the woods, but watched her with cautious eyes.

"My sorrows are not ones that are meant to be lifted. Their purposes is to stick with me and bring me down inch by inch until I am drowned in them. Talking may not do much for me but pull me in further."

Crimson eyes watched as fallen leaves danced in the wind. They circled round and round until the wind seperated them on by one.

"Plus, why would I talk to someone who is just going to leave me.."

User ImageBecause the male jerked away from her, she made no move to touch him, but still she sat near and pondered over his question.

"Who, decided that for you? And, if it was no one else, and you placed that upon yourself, then you can change it. Whether I, stay or leave is my own decision, and I'm not, really in the mood to be putting any distance between myself and here." Delilah's tone may have seemed harsh and uncaring, but it wasn't that she didn't care, just that she didn't show it well.

"If you, don't want to talk, sing again and if you, don't want to do either, I can be on my way again, even if I don't want to."

Domonque sent a questioning glare at the female. He didn't know why she was still here or what was making her persist on him, but he stopped his questioning. The male laid himself back on the ground, arms crosses and head on paws. He drowned out the females words and questions as he tried to find a peace in his mind.

Part of him wanted the female to leave, yet another part, the part that longed for company, wanted her to stay.

'I have never sung a song in front of another, but I guess it is worth a shot...'

Domonque slowly opened his mouth to let a song escape. He had no idea which he would sing, but he would try anyway.

"Got up early, found something's missing my only name. No one else sees but I got stuck, and soon forever came. Stopped pushing on for just a second, then nothing's changed. Who am I this time, where's my name I guess it crept away.

No one's calling for me at the door and unpredictable won't bother anymore, and silently gets harder to ignore. Look straight ahead, there's nothing left to see. What's done is done, this life has got it's hold on me.
Just let it go, what now can never be."

Domonque's voice changed in to a soft whisper.

I forgot that I might see, so many beautful things. I forgot that I might need, to find out what life could bring. Now what do I do can I change my mind did I think things through.

It was once my life it was my life at one time "

User ImageDelilah also settled herself into a comfortable position and waited for him to make the decision that would either end or extend their time together. When he began to sing she figured that he wanted her to stay and listen, otherwise wouldn't he have told her off? She shrugged at his admitting, then twisted her ears up to listen to the song.

"What was once, can be again. That's what I believe, anyway. You, have a lovely voice, you should, share it more often. Maybe, you can lift your voice, and your grief, at the same time. Two birds, as they say?"

(sorry it took me so long >.<
I know the song, maybe too well, and it threw me off so I had to rethink my post <3)

"I'm not so sure about that. It is hard to lift ones self after falling so far down. As that they, some things are easier said than done."

Domonque lifted himself from his spot and started to walk out of the area. There was no point in staying in a hiding spot when he was no longer hiding. Stopping, he turned back to the female.

"If you really want to stick with me and try to help then be my guest, other wise we can just part ways here."

[I've had is stuck in my head for like...weeks. XD]
