Sgina did not understand why Victor was mad at her. Everything she had done was for him. He wanted a big family and she had given it to him, by making things right with her sisther, father, and mother. Was it that she had not fixed things with Rahu her adopted father, and with Victor's father? She could not do that, they would not let her most likely. She had burnt a lot of bridges in the past and Victor's father was certainly one of those bridges.

Sgina fluttered her wings, not sure what to do with herself. In the past she would have been training herself. Training to fight, for what reason she could not remember. Her body had not lost it's muscles yet, but it would if she didn't exercise. What was the point though, if she was suppose to be good and nice to everyone...It was like she had lost herself and everything that meant anything to her.

Deep in the forest, Aveshar flung up his head. He scented the wind, ears flicking, muscles tightening. What was this? Somewhere, a shadow was flickering.... One of the few dark souls was giving in to the light... Slowly, reluctantly... Many bright souls flickered around it, pecking at the darkness, consuming it piece by piece. He would almost mourn the loss of the shadow, perhaps even would mourn it.
Aveshar didn't mourn much. In fact, he probably hadn't ever mourned anything in his life...
With a flex of muscle he took wing, soaring toward that flickering darkness. It was his right to fan a dark flame... His duty, his pleasure. With a flex of silk-bound wings, he spiraled out of the sky, landing delicately before the sky-winged mare.
"Greetings, Little Shadow... Why so blue?" He murmured, smiling fiercely.

Sgina's ears flicked forwards as she heard the sound of wings. Not feathered wings, but the bat like wings of those she used to be so fascinated by. It was not her first encounter with them, one had tried to teach her to be a killer before, but when he found love with a lesser hater she became unimportant. That is the life of one whom is different, he strays drastically from what they are expected to do. Shunned by her kind for her old ways and shunned by those whom are like her for the simple fact that she was of a different race.

Her eyes narrowed when he landed near her. They always wanted something, toying with you, hunting you, fighting with you, they never came to lessers without reason. What puzzled her more was he greeted her as little shadow, not lesser. Giving him a rather uncaring look, not one of fear or apprehension like most of her breed gave to these demons she spoke.

"Greetings...Why do you call me Little Shadow? Is it a nick name you have for lessers?"

The old Sgina would have never referred to herself in such a manner. She was to proud to ever admit that she could be called that. Sgina would have tried everything to prove she was a fighter and stronger then any mare of the earth or stallion for that matter, regardless of their race, but no more this is what was left of her.

He smiled. She did not fear him instantly, and that in itself was refreshing... Pacing a slow circle around her, he eyed the wind mare at all angles, considering her question.
"I normally do not greet lessers, I eat them." He offered the truth with a shrug, and a sharp smile. "I can sense what you are.. A little flicker of shadow in a family of blazing light... A delightful little surprise.
Dark though he was, Aveshar was a Fayth... By virtue of his parents, he had abilities, magic that many could only dream of... If they could even do that. He could almost see her soul, hear the siren's call of its music. Everything was music... And shadow... And light...
"And so I answered your question, answer mine... Why so upset?" He already knew.

A tango, it was the start of the tango, though there was no music to be heard. The fact that he could tell what she used to be, put a little life back into her eyes. Finally someone that did not look at her with shame, or confusion, he was interested in that side of her.

A smirk slide to her face at the mention of eating lessers, she had still never heard of a lesser being eaten by a Kalona. They attacked lessers certainly, but never eat them. She let him circle her, but after a moment she moved to make it so that she was pacing the circle round him. Sgina acted more like she was sizing him up than looking him over. She seemed to contemplate answering his question showing that she felt she had a choice in the manner. As she moved she made sure he saw her musles, there weren't gone yet and she certainly had more than most wind mares he had most likely ever seen.

"I made no such promise to answer your question, if you answered mine. That was a loss on your point." Sgina said stopping in front of him. "Answer another question of mine and I will answer your question plus tell you something you haven't asked for."

He stepped to the center of the clearing, allowing her to her own examination. He tilted his head so he watched her the whole time, his eyes glittering. It was always nice when a mare noticed him, this female's gaze was particularly keen.
She was muscled and fierce and quite a tempting sport. "I will answer your question for the answer I seek, as well as this choice tidbit." He agreed with a nod.

Sgina always liked making things more complicated then they were. She fluttered her wings with satisfaction, one of which moved oddly. It had never healed quite right even if she could fly with it now. It had been broken when she was a foal, by her adopted father, though he had not adopted her yet.

"What's your name? I don't enjoy explaining my feelings without at least knowing who I am talking too. Your extra tidbit, is my name is Sgina."

Her name was the Cherokee word for evil spirit. It was not her true name, but one she had given herself as a foal. She would keep her promise though, once she had his name she would explain her sadness. Sgina needed to talk anyways and when they would listen she found Kalonas easy to talk to.

He smiled, a flash of teeth in the black of his face. Tossing his head so his forelock -just as long as his mane- slipped out of one eye, he fixed it on her, considering.
"My name is Aveshar." He rumbled at last, his voice a dark purr of sound. "I am the Dark Fayth... Most pleasant to meet you, Sgina..."

Sgina smiled and moved a bit turning her back slightly at Aveshar, showing that she wasn't afraid of him as well as a wordless sign that she was in her own way trusting him.

"Mind if we walk? It does one no good to stay in one place for long."

Her eyes seemed to drift to the sky she had never quite gotten over the news of being watched, by her father's side of the family. Sgina being seen talking with a kalona would be picked at for sure and she was unhappy enough as it is.

"A Dark Fayth....I see, that would explain your calling me a little shadow then."

Sgina seemed to be putting her words together, she found speaking to kalonas a much different matter then any other soquili. Her ears flicked a bit as she choose just where to start.

"A little flicker of shadow in a family of blazing light. That's what you said and while right its not the whole story."

Sgina gave him a look to let him know he was in for a full tale not a short explanation.

"I was born in a family of light everything was perfect I should have been happy. I was not I hated what I was and I hated everyone around me. Their kindness made me sick and no matter what I did, even kicking my father in the face they still insisted on such kindness.

I suppose one day....around the time of the appearance of the Skinwalkers, my mother gave up on me and disowned me. For the first time I felt free, but it wasn't to last. I was bold even then and attempted to take on opponents including Kalonas.

One kalona decided it would be interesting to take me in. With him I made my first kill, a small rabbit and though I didn't eat it I enjoyed the blood and the rush of having one's life in your control, but he abandoned me....when he found love with one of his own kind...but I'm getting a head of myself.

During the times I spent with this kalona only one other soquili was able to gain my respect. His name was Rahu, I challenged him to a fight and he took me up on it. He was the first soquili to ever do so and he defeated me royally. My wing has never been the same, but that's my own fault for not letting anyone touch it. He raised me for the rest of my youth and one day when I was old enough we part without another word, till much later that is.

Now back to the Kalona stallion, he found me amusing till he found one of his own kind to love. That has always seemed to be my downfall....its not my fault I was born to the wrong family, doomed to be hated by those I look like and treated like s**t by the ones I act like. I think I might have loved him you know, as much as I'm able to love. When he left me a lone I made my first mistake of many.

I met a wind stallion and was washed away in a night of passion from which I gave birth to three foals. One like me, One like the father and a little of me, and one like neither of us. I didn't take care of them as I should have, I should have taught them to hate the world, but I couldn't. My son Victor wanted a big family and the only way I knew to give it to him was to make right with my own. Ever since then I've been unhappy, giving up myself to make other happy.........I feel like I don't know who I am anymore. I don't train to fight, I don't even get affended if I'm called a lesser. Perhaps I believe I am now? I mean what kinda s**t am I?! I'm not a gently kind heart WIND!! AND I'M NOT A KALONA, WHAT THE HELL AM I?! WHO AM I SUPPOSE TO BE?!!!"

Rage seemed to be well up in Sgina as well as blind confusion. She had forgotten all her dreams of the past and in the process forgotten who she was as well. With a shout of anger she whipped around and kicked a limb off a tree as she once did for aiming practice. Her eyes almost glowed in the dark of the night. She looked at Aveshar almost crazed as though she wanted to pick a fight right their, but her eyes dimmed and she looked a way once more lost in her confusion.

Aveshar watched the bold move with an air of surprise, momentarily considering mauling her for her high-headedness. He didn't... This mare was too intriguing to maul outright... Instead he considered her words, then followed her.
"No... I do not mind." He murmured in his midnight voice, carefully watching her as she eyed the sky above them. She was, watching, for something... For someone? It had been awhile since he'd been ambushed...
Muscles tightened beneath the night-black coat, the stallion almost itching for a chance to fight... He'd kill this mare first, if she was the bait for such a trap... But somehow, she seemed, fearful...
"I see shadows everywhere... Forever dancing with the light..." Aveshar murmured by way of explanation. "But rather than feed a flame, I will draw breath to extinguish it, in the hopes the shadows will overrun all that was once light."
He nodded slightly. He could sense pieces... Parts of a story... Much like a Kiwani's vision... The fact that the mare was going to share her story intrigued and surprised him, and had him following her almost eagerly.
The beginning of her story reminded him of his own family... He had loathed his parents, his brothers, his dainty sisters... Hated the peace of the music they lived by, the love and affection... It was disgusting... Almost, unclean... Which is why he had left so young... He'd never belonged with them...
The tantalizing hints to her story made him tilt his head, his stride slowing to keep pace with hers. Being taller, it was easier for his longer legs and larger strides to outdistance her.
His ears flicked forward in shock when she seemed to shout, asking who she was. What she was. He didn't really know. He'd never met a wind with the heart of a kalona... He'd met a kalona breed with a heart unlike anything... And he'd met kalonas that acted like kalonas, unicorns that were good, groundwalkers that were normal...
He pinned his ears and bared his teeth, almost approving of her rage even as she turned on him. Let her... He'd take her, they both knew it... But he had a feeling she would fight, this little mare... And considering what she had been raised by and what she felt, she was probably a far better fighter than any other wind... Or groundwalker...
"Carefull who you lash out at, Little Shadow..." He warned, wings flexing. "Why do you tell me such secrets of yours?"

Sgina looked at him oddly standing in once place for a moment. Her eyes seemed body seemed to beg for a fight but her eyes seemed dull for the moment.

"I'd be a fool to take you on now....my muscles grow weak from my softness."

Sgina turned her head from him out of shame. At the moment she would probably welcome a mauling. Not, because she wanted a swift suicide, but because she felt she deserved it.

"Why?"

Sgina looked back at the kalona and smiled a little.

"Because you asked and as I said before, I've always found your kind interesting to talk to. Oh and I noticed you saw my glance to the sky. Don't worry its nothing to be on edge about for you. You see my Grandfather likes to make sure his family line stays pure and good. Even though he won't associate with my father's side calling my father and mother sluts in a way for hooking up so fast, he likes to make sure the sluts are behaving. I don't like being spied on by that hawk and if I ever catch it I'll rip it to shreds."

"You would be a fool." He nodded in agreement. Her explanation about the sky had him almost smiling, a cruel curl of his mouth. He paced a loose circle around her, considering.
"You despair, Little Shadow.." He mused. "You almost welcome death, and yet will not die... You find my kind interesting to talk to, a kind that would do better to tear you to pieces and let your life slowly drip away... I wonder at it..."
He shook his head. Aveshar didn't like to wonder... Didn't like to be confused.. This mare confused him...
