He had wandered quite a way away from home. He didn't know where he was going, or even where he had been. The air had changed though, he was ina place he didn't know and it smelled alot different from home, alays good, it meant there could be new adventures here. Flickering his long tail the large male paused for a moment and took in a deep breath. With this breath he tenced his mucles, lions lived here. He wondered if he would face any resistance? He wondered if he would have to fight or if he could pass through unnoticed? Either way, that was the way he was headed, hindered or not.

Picking up his paws once again the heavy chested, thick legged cheetah smiled. he always enjoyed these little adventures, they gave him chracter he felt. Lots and lots of character.

There was a song in her heart and a spring in her step, but then again that was far from abnormal for Kinda. She missed home, true, but she loved getting a chance to see more of the world. Her sister had gotten off somewhere and left her alone, and the lioness was busy trying to find ways to keep herself entertained while she waited for Miri's return. Opting to turn to looking for stones that could be used to make new necklaces, she searched the area with a soft hum, turning over ocassional pebbles and stones to see what they offered, but so far nothing special. Black rocks, white rocks, silver rocks, especially shiney rocks would be nice. Maybe some colored stones like the sea, but even with this wide menu she wasn't finding much. It was becoming disappointing, but she didn't lose hope just yet.

Kinda directed her gaze elsewhere she spotted the cheetah in the distance. Heh, spotted the cheetah, ironic wasn't it?

"Oh! Hello over there...?"

Afiya lifted his head, his golden, honey glazed orbs fell upon the lioness and he smiled. He usually felt quite at ease around lions, there was no need for him to be afraid after all, he was easily as large as an adult lion, his thick set shoulders bearing mucles that the average cheetah just didn't posess. So without a moments hesitation he trotted towards the soft brown femme.

"Greetings to you too miss." He smiled, a little bow tilting his head. he wasn't in the mood to be cocky, after being greeted in such a sweet, almos innocent manner, he decided to be the gentleman his mother had taught him to be.

Taking a breath he let a gentle puurr roll off his lips "It's you I smelled then is it? i thougth perhaps I had wandered in to a territory."

"I don't know, was it?" She grinned, though the question wasn't meant at all for her to sound like a smartass. She just couldn't really smell herself. "I suppose... I'm not from here. I live by the sea. It smells strange here to me too, very dry... and... smooth. Well, anyway, I don't want to be a bother but I was wondering if you knew of anyplace where I might find some stones? Beautiful ones, or simple and colorful. I'm not having much luck and I really don't know these lands very well yet..."

The smile this time was softer, a mild embarrassment that wasn't really embarrassed at all so much as slightly impish.

Afiya chuckled lightly, his bright golden orbs resting on the lioness, he admired her for a moment, taking her coment in an off the cuff manner, she clearly had a playful side under that quiet, polite demeanor.

"Well if it's any consolation, I don't know this land very well my self and you do smell rather nice, the sea you say though? Never heard of it. Is it nice there?" He let a small charming smile slip over his lips then a tiny fang flashing beneath his sandy brown lips.

"Hmm, well, I did see a little collection of large stones about a mile back that way." He raised a paw and pointed in a random direction. "Maybe you'd like for me to lead you to it?" he smiled and raised a curious brow.

"Oh, it's wonderful! It's so vast and big that you can't even see land on the other side of it. Just water, as far as the eye can see... except for the pride lands of course. There are shells and smoothed stones, and the sand is perfect to wallow down into for a nap after the sun's been baking it all day." She grinned. Kinda was clearly very convicted and passionate about her home, when talking about it it was almost as if she were back there again. "I could tell you more about it if you'd be so kind to bring me to those stones? I'm hoping to make a new necklace to bring back to my family when we return eventually."

Even as she said this she shifted and stepped back to gesture for him to lead the way.

Afiya nodded gently and turned away from the lioness marching off towards the rocks he had seen earlier. he guessed wheer there were rocks there were stones. Simple deduction really.

"Water as far as you can see huh? Thats gotta be some sight. I'd like to see that." He grinned his tail held at a jaunty angle, the tip flickering evry so often in the typicle cheetah like manner.

"You make jewelry too? I'v seen a few beasts with adornments on them, my ma, she usually wears flowers, I'm no good with my paws though, my sisters are rpetty handy at it." He paused for a moment and held up one rather large, black clawed foot, "don't have much flexability in my fat feet." He chuckled continuing back int he direction he had come.

"If you're ever near by you can come see it for yourself." It would be great to have more visitors around or near the lands if they could, and she didn't see why he wouldn't be allowed in, but, first things first, and one step at a time. Kinda moved right into step alongside the cheetah, blinking at his size. It was certainly was...... unusual, but, she would never be so mean (intentionally or not, in her case, not) as to blurt out the fact or question it openly. It was curious, she finally settled for, and moved into step with him with no problem. "It's a little difficult, the rocks are hard to find that will work or already have holes." She admitted.

The big male nodded lightly continuing to trot along his tail quirked at a cocky angle. "Still, thats a talent to have." He chuckled playfully turning his golden eyed gaze on the female before him.

"My names Afiya by the way, don't think I introduced myself." He rolls his eyes. "Guess I got a little caught up, sometimes fee quite astounded byall the pretty ladies I meet ont he savannah." he let a purur roll over his lips and raised both brows curiously. "You know if you have a question you can ask it. I know alot of people find it very strange how large I am. Guess I just take after my name." He laughed again, shaking his neck so that the fur there stood on end making his shoulders look even broader.

"Kinda'hima."

He must have read her pause rather well, but she didn't seem bothered by it. She just chuckled at his comment about pretty females, certain he must be talking about other cheetahs.

"I've yet to see many cheetahs here, but they might be avoiding my sister and I, she's not exactly the most.... settled lioness. I admit I was curious but, I don't really have any questions." She admitted then, spotting the rocks ahead but not moving to rush.

Afiya chuckled lightly and gave a nod, "Well most cheetahs won't approach a lion, my mother she has feared them for as long as she lived, but i'v never had any problems with them, few scuffles here and there but i can handle it." He smirked, okay, he was bragging, well what did she expect? She was a pretty female! He had a thing for pretty females.

"Theres the rocks." He tilted his head towards them and smiled, "theres a den in the base too, not been used for years by the scent of it but if you're looking for some where to sleep, I used it last night. It'll keep you dry when the rain starts." He looekd upwards and raised a brow, yup, it was definately going to rain.

"I can't say I understand, but I haven't met many unkind lions. If she's had bad experiences with our kind in the past... well, I do apologize." She meant that. She didn't know what wrong might've been done to his mother but assuming it was lions that had done it, she was sorry for her suffering.

Moving further ahead there was an instinctive smile in reaction to his. It was infectious, and she couldn't help the natural response.

"Well, that's convinent, thank you for your help, Afiya. When my sister gets back, whenever that is, I'll be sure to bring her here too." Though she highly doubted Miri would return before dark, let alone before the rain. Right at that moment she began to dig through the smaller stones, searching for the ones she wanted to use.

The big male smiled. "it's not your fault, experiences as they are mould a person. She braught me and my brotehrs up different, I'm rpetty unafraid of everything." He chuckled turning his gaze skywards.

A roll of thunder steamed over head and his ears perked. "You might wanna leave that til morning, there comes the rain." He pointed and the torrent of water flushed from the sky.

He laughed and boled for the cave. He didn't mind the rain but it was easier to weather it out so to speak in a dry place. He shook out his fur and waited, his golden eyes shimemring like lamp lights in the sudden dullness of the day.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 01, 2008 10:31 am

"Hmm... that's true. My parents traveled before they came to our pride, I guess in the end as long as you learn a lesson from it, even the bad experiences are for the best."

Was her reasoning. Brown fur prickled as her hackles lifted slightly with the sense of the oncoming storm, and she turned to look just as Afiya was pointing out the rain. With an uncharacteristic squeak Kinda turned again and abandoned her rock hunting to dash after Afiya into the safe and dry shelter of the cave. Once there she laughed a bit and shook out her fur as well, shivering from the chill of that dousing.

"The rain is much colder out here than it is back home!"

Looking over the chocolate brown female he chuckled and leaned accross to her offering a grooming to her face at least, he knew how uncomfortable it could be to have a wet head. "You'll get used to it if you're out here long enough." he whispered simply stretching out his long thck limbs.

"Might as well sleep out the storm." he smiled slowly lowering to his belly, his forelegs crossed happily. "Nice to look at, makes everything green, but a pain in the butt to the fur." he puurrs and looks up to Kinda with a smile.

"Come, rest up a while I promise I'll leave you to your buisness once the rains subsided."
