OK, the first thing we need to figure out is what we want our setting to be. Should it be traditional fantasy, sci-fi, futuristic, modern, etc.? Setting will lead the way to characters, scenarios, and the game title. So, let's start posting our ideas, and I'll keep a tally of what everyone likes.
My Idea: Modern -> Futuristic Description: The story takes place directly after something major occurs. I'd suggest something like an alien race invading or the discovery of some ancient city/artifact that drastically changes the world. Needs: -Graphics (tilesets, characters, weapons, etc.) -Probably a lot of events (modern cities are much bigger than fantasy cities) -A lot of imagination and input from everyone

i think for a scenario more modern -> fantasy -> futuristic -> dream((which is what i was kinda thinking from the beginning except less on the futuristic))
and for the needs i got weapons graphics worked out for games i can make some easily but still the fantasty cities like you stated are smaller then modern so use a modern style but fantasy formations like midevil but modern clay house with a fantasy style structure to it and yet something that makes the villages easier to make work together and go together instead of clashing and making it look retarted.

You have no idea how your lack of punctuation bothers me. Anyway, I need everyone to post their ideas, not just me and dark angel. I know you've got them because you've posted them in the other thread. Please, just summarize them quickly. They don't have to have the yada -> yada format. It's just what I used for my idea.

Genre/Setting: Fantasy /Medieval Gameplay: I think around 2 hours would be just fine. I do think we need something that stands out and catches peoples attention. Something that will make them really want to play.
That's honestly all I can think of right now. It takes me a while to come up with anything good when it comes to creating things. sweatdrop

OK, I've added a poll. If anyone wants any changes made to it or wants to adds something, post a message. This poll will only last for 5 days, regardless of changes because we need to get moving. I want to get at least get a quarter of the game done before fall.

I really don't know what time zone would be best, any would work well if we take advantage of it. I can just go with majority. But one thing I don't see up there, which is pretty common, is clashing time zones together. Perhaps have fantasy(swords & magic) plus futuristic(mechs and guns). Just an idea. And if we make a serious game, we gotta have plenty of playable hours in the game. Everybody loves secret bosses ^_^.
EDIT: Hm..well I suppose option 2 is more of a time zone clash..sorry, didn't read closely.

my new bite sized idea.
a girl from the past gets teleported to the future and finds the earth at war with something (aliens, space colony)
wars are fought with mechs however one paticular mech (of course the strongest) seems to only allow this girl to control it. she bitches about fighting but after realizing its for the best goes and kicks a**. climax then end.

The decision for the setting has been decided! I've put up a new set of threads for discussion. The last thing we'll do is the storyline, so if anyone has specifics, wait until that thread to post them. For now, think about possible storylines with the setting that has been chosen.
