Okay. I was looking through the posts and noticed that many of them are quite old, so I thought I'd try to get a new thread going....

In the Oct 2007 conference, there was a talk called "Do It Now" the General Authority told a story about his son not finding a recipe in time, and how the Baccardi Rum Cake recipe that ended up in the school booklet was mildly embarrassing because the family was known in the community for their faith, and he had just been called as a stake president. He then went on to talk about President Kimball's slogan "Do it," which he later changed to "Do it now."

How have you been blessed or strengthened by doing something without procrastinating, or, on the other hand, how has procrastination hurt you? Have you successfully overcome procrastination? If so, how did you do it?

Well, This year I was better with doing my seminary work. I didn't get majorly behind like last year and was the first to finish the workbook.
(I'm in the Home Study program, we do a workbook and meet once a week.)
My seminary teacher was so happy that I'd finished. I also got the benefit of being able to read the entire Old Testament and gain some understanding and insight from it.

Procrastination = BAD!!!

Trust me, I know. IB Program + Procrastination = EPIC FAILAGE

IB= Internatl Baccalaureate??
Congrats!

Yeah, I made quite a mess of my living space and put off cleaning it up for months. It hurt my scripture studies, my productivity, my mood -- everything. I've been trying to jump in, get up earlier, and get things done before the day is half gone -- works much better. Even my spirituality is improving.

i procrastinated my eagle project until my senior year, with me unnofficially at first class or something like that, having youth conference and far east theatre team in the time slot. i finished far east right before things really got rolling, but then we took a skit we had done for the far east tournament and decided to do the whole play (the complt wrks of wllm shkspr (abridged)) which obviously cut into my schedle. then after that (about when i started the ball rolling on the project, in FEBRUARY) i decided to help out with the school production of your a good man charlie brown, because they needed more poeple desperately, so the three of us from the far east team were asked to help, and i couldn't say no. Needless to say, with only two months to do my project, and tons of other scouting requirements plus graduation and plays galore, had i not procrastinated my eagle i would not have had as interesting senior year as i did. oh, and youth conference? that was mid april, when the project was to be held as an optional service project (really my team only). TWAS CRAZY!
