Vahn has offered the use of Levi's Vent server for this event. Free for all players to join and chat. Vahn Fah The last post of this thread will always be the most recent announcement.
The first announcement is that Leviathan now has its own Ventrillo server! It's basically like Skype, except without the faggotry-- and like MSN live conversations, but with no nudity on web cams! Join the server, chat it up with fellow fighters and roleplayers from other guilds or threads-- and just enjoy an entertaining alternative to posting TEXT. Now you can just read off your text as epic monologue. Or argue with your opponent in real time (if you have the balls). The Vent can hold 20 people max (if need be, it can be upgraded for more people depending on popularity). Server is: vent44.light-speed.com
Port is: 5309 All Crew members of Leviathan have Admin power on the Vent server, so any asshattery or foul users can and will be banned from the server. This is paid by us, for YOU, so remember-- you have been warned. Please do NOT post replies in this thread.

An explosion has rocked the city! The relics in the upper level of the Palace Dome have been completely melted down, and anyone who was fortunate enough to be looking saw the spectacle of flames shooting from the dome against the nighttime sky.

A series of explosions littered the District of Steel earlier this morning, around the same time as the explosions at the Palace Dome.
Also, official game hours are over for the night. You are welcome to keep playing, but judge and GM support will be limited.

GM Time begins again, and continues until 8pm PST.
After 8pm PST tonight, the game is on pause until Part 2 begins, for both players and GMs.
Happenings of Note:
In the 5 in-game hours since everyone arrived, three major explosions have rocked the city. First, a massive burst of heat erupted in the Palace Dome - Upper Reaches, melting down most of the treasure there and causing minor tremors throughout the city. Shortly after, a series of smaller explosions destroyed several buildings in the District of Steel, followed by a gunfight. The remains of a large machine still sits there, though it has been scorched and mangled beyond recognition.
Within the last (in-game) hour, a third explosion could be heard from the Central Field, as the Sky Blades' airship went down in flame. The remains of the ship are still there, but Cap'n Marius and his closest three allies have gone missing.
Also, the temperature of the city has begun a slow but steady drop. Ice and snow brought into the Frostschild no longer melt on contact with the city proper's borders.

All Greywater members with communicators would receive this message: Quote: Suddenly everyone wearing any sort of communicator linked with Greywater would receive a very loud emergency message. "Oh god... It's awful." It was the voice of that same guard, "We need help, we couldn't stop it... Jesus it was awful. Everything was a gooddamn blur!" There was a voice screaming in pain from off the side. "Oh god... I don't want to be a challenge! I have a wife and kids... Mother help me!"It'll be ok Jack... Did you hear that? Yeah, it's that bad. Anyway, out of goddamn nowhere a thing... No... You saw it Jim... Sec guys." He paused as someone else explained it. "Jim says a suit of armour burst through our lines, wiped out half the platoon from injury or incapacitation, and then ran into the city..." Jim spoke up again and the guard relayed the information again. "And it called us pussies in fancy language. I have no idea what the ******** is going on. Over!"

The Unity Field has collapsed. People in areas that were once protected are now vulnerable again.

Game time is paused. Please do not post until we resume next weekend. Thank you.
Oh, and also, the city has been overrun by robot-zombie-skeletons. They just sort of popped up from out of nowhere. Crazy, inn't?

And the game begins again.
Ten hours have passed since the various groups arrived at Frostschild, and things have changed considerably. The Unity Field has collapsed, and the domes are no longer a safe haven. The heat field around the city is also gone, and it has just started snowing--a light, gentle snow, for now.
The population of Frostschild is back, but they are considerably... changed. What once were people are now robotic beings, similar in appearance to jagged metal skeletons and like in behavior to zombies. They carry about the lives they had before in ignorance until they see a living being, then they attack. Populated areas are a dangerous place to be.
A radio message goes over the Greywater bandwidth: "Take back the city and wait for reinforcements."
As usual, the GM Request Thread is at your disposal if you need someone to control zombies, or have any other interactions that require guidance.

GM hours are over for the day. Still plenty of zombies for you guys to kill, but if you can't get a GM, you can NPC them if you want. A caveat: many of you have already fought some, and know that these guys aren't pushovers. I don't want to wake up tomorrow to find that a lone [insert heroic archtype] took an on army of them and won. Play it smart, okay?

GM hours continue, and today is our last day.
The weather has grown progressively colder over the last few hours. Five inches of snow coat most of the city proper, and any standing pools of water are covered in a thin layer of ice. Better bundle up.

Flashes of light, red and violent, burst from the Palace Dome, visible throughout the city. Moments later, the same light shines from every manhole in the city leading to the sewers. And a moment after that, great, swirling clouds appear above Frostschild's center, black smoky tendrils flowing down from the cloud to touch down at the District of Steel, the Corn Maize, and the Commons. Also appearing are the Anti Fields, and anyone in the Forbidden Temple or the Palace Dome starts to feel ill. Quote: Anti Fields are the opposite of Unity fields, tearing and destroying life rather than preserving it. Upon entering you will number your posts, upon your tenth post you will pass out. Your character will be able to feel this fatigue, and thanks to visual clues from when the Unity fields were up your character will likely know what is doing this. If your character is not removed from the thread by an hour after the tenth post your character hits a permanent KO state for this event. Your character recovers two fatigue for every post outside an Anti field. Thus for every post outside the field you may enter it for two more turns. This caps at ten posts.

Without warning, the earth shifts, tilting everything towards the Palace Dome and sinking the Dome itself a few inches. The entire city is now on a slight incline, and round objects will roll towards the city's center if pushed.
Needless to say, there was much cracking of concrete.
