Class Description An anatomy course that features comprehensive guides to the human organs, systems, and body structure for the students. In addition, more abstract, ethereal elements of anatomy, such as chi, the flow of mana, and acupuncture, will also be discussed. There was something slightly peevish about a classroom without teachers. It set off a sort of rebellious aura and an ease on learning. Perhaps it offered both responsibility and freedom, but the environment was so empty and desolate that the British boy was sure this wasn't normal. Of course, all his life he'd never really known what normal was. To him it had been a father who drilled in rules and manners, a playful dog and a sweetheart for a mother. It had been an aunt who'd encouraged his creativity in the kitchen but not so much in the sort of... biological terroristic attitude he'd showed for the aliens which had developed into a keen interest in poisons.
But who would be supportive of such a thing in a fifteen year old boy? Doubtful that anyone would really see that as a good idea. However, he saw it as one. He figured if he understood their mechanisms, than he could poison them all and exact his revenge. Needless to say his experiments were mainly fruitless for he had no test subjects, not to mention he'd been dying down on the passion of it ever since he'd learn that the world wasn't exactly his enemy.
Still, learning came first. And his first choice of the day was the human body. He wasn't really sure what worked with the aliens, but he figured it would help to properly learn about humans first... to protect them from whatever the aliens might be concocting. Those bloody dingbats. With a sigh, Nathaniel whipped out his notebook and went over to examine a few charts on the wall. He wanted to copy them down, for future reference.

Herei was very rarely where he was actually supposed to be. It was just by chance that More had actually caught him in his office because the advisor had taken up the horrible habit of...wandering. Like today, for instance. And we can only assume he picked up this pseudo-wanderlust because the man had been trapped in the same routine for so long. Well, perhaps 'trapped' is putting it a little harshly, but he had let himself fall into the monotony of a day-to-day plan. He was bored. And so, being the great and wise man that he is, Advisor Herei Fang decided to do something about it.
Clad in a long, shimmering red-and-gold robe, Herei decided to take a tour of the school instead of doing his paperwork this morning. He could just catch up this evening (he wouldn't actually shirk his work for more than twenty-four hours, no) and he had already practiced his martial arts before the sun even bothered to get up. Yes, now was a pretty good time. Considering recent...events brought to his attention by the Headmaster, Herei thought now might be an even better time to just...survey the school. And it was when Herei was just meandering, taking a mental survey, that he noticed a student in one of the classrooms.
This, in and of itself, was not very peculiar. Actually, very little about the situation was. But Herei was always one to take advantage of an opportunity. "Good day," he greeted the boy, nodding slightly as he stood in the doorway. "Finding everything you need?"

With a quick turn, and an even quicker moment of judgment, he smiled brightly. He had just finished sketching and copying down a body structure chart that also listed a few pressure points. It was a bit out of the loop that he needed, but the Brit wasn't off put by this. Merely it was the adult that had come in that was off setting. Clearly he was an important member of the school, for all and every one of the adults were. Clearly he was an adult, needless to say. And clearly, he was talking to Nathaniel.
Now normally, the young boy didn't mind having conversations with adults. He was the epitome of politeness and happy positivity. But he was wondering if there was more to it than feigning absolute obedience in the presence of them. In fact, he quite wondered why they knew more but didn't often opt to share it with the rest of the world. And then this brought him to question what this man might know. All of this he thought of in the mere time span of a few seconds and his green eyes sparkled, slightly grateful for the concern, or seeming concern, of the other.
"Good day," he nodded, repeating what the other had said and nodding as well, "Yes, thank you very much. These charts are quite helpful to me."

Herei simply nodded, not moving from his perch. There quite a few charts in everyone room, the Advisor had to hope they weren't simply space-takers. He rubbed his chin absently, watching the student with mild interest. Hm. He hadn't met this one personally yet. (He had read files on all the boys here, but as discussed with More, speaking to them was much more interesting than reading a few pages.) Hey, he had free time on his hands. The school wasn't going anywhere (and neither was his paperwork, for that matter). He shifted slightly, eyes locking on the youth.
"So, Nathaniel, tell me. What are you using the charts for?" It wasn't like the Chinese man couldn't guess, that wasn't the point. It was more interesting to get their thoughts on the matter. Their plans. What would Nathaniel be doing to his notes? Would they really be put to good use? These boys were supposed to be genius, it was nice to see when those shining qualities really made themselves known. If he didn't get a satisfactory answer, he'd just keep prodding until he found one he really liked.

Naturally, being the epitome of a good student, he would answer the teacher the best he could, with the utmost honesty. Although, he always left out a few details when he spoke to teachers. It wouldn't do any good to tell them how much he hated the aliens, or how much he'd love to torture one and exact revenge on their entire species. No. It would definitely not be a good idea to tell him that. Instead, he could say a hundred other things. All polite. Of course, he did not want to ruin his learning in this class. It was perhaps one of the most important of all the basic ones to him.
He finished up a few of his notes and looked around at the posters once more before coming up with the proper answer. There was a polite smile as he nodded to some of them, "I'm copying them down so that I can better study the functions of the body. I find it very useful, don't you agree ... oh forgive me. I'm not sure I have met you yet... but you seem to know me. Please accept my apologies." He reached out his hand, wondering if that was either too formal, or too informal. Surely it would be acceptable. "Let me introduce myself properly, I'm Nathaniel Jacobson and I'm very interested in the study of poisons and their affects." His smile widened, the mask a perfect solid thing. No cracks. No flaws. Some of the happiness was genuine. He loved teachers and he loved poisons. And he loved to show that love.

Herei nodded, mildly intrigued. Poisons? He hadn't heard that before. He found a lot of people liking the defensive, things like doctors. To help people. But it would seem our Brit here wanted to go ahead and take the initiative. Like he said. Intriguing. He nodded and finally pulled himself upright, strolling into the room. "I see," he said simply, trying to decide if this was enough.
Well, it was. For now. The Advisor smiled and shook his head. "Of course I know you, Nathaniel." He raised a hand to his mouth and chuckled softly. "What kind of advisor would I be if I didn't know the students?" Really now! This was one of the best schools in the world; it just wouldn't do if the professors and the staff were not at the top of their game. But enough about him. This wasn't about him. "So tell me. How did you ever get involved in poisons, hmm?" Like he said. He was very intrigued.

Putting his hand back to his side, he turned back to his work a moment, almost as if he was checking to make sure it existed properly. Almost trying to make sure that he hadn't lost anything. His sense of organization was a bit haphazard, considered to most. His system was not one to easily be figured out, and to most it looked like a mess, but to him it was as clear as night and day. He smiled a little when he found it was all okay and then turned back to the Adviser, recognizing him from one of the first days. What was his name? Fang. Herei Fang. Yes. He should've remembered, should've known... but it wasn't so easy when those people didn't come in cotnact with him too often.
His pleasant smile continued as he watched the other's odd mannerisms and judgments. "How, sir?" Nat asked incredulously, smiling with innocence. "It was just a simple curiosity. I have a bit of an interest in cooking too, so when someone in my household contracted food poisoning, I became curious of the reason and the outcome. I began to wonder what someone could do if they made their own poison. Something akin to biological warfare..." And that was all he'd give away. It wasn't the truth, but it wasn't really a lie either. It settled perfectly in between and sounded highly reasonable, and that was all that mattered.

What Nat thought sounded reasonable, the advisor thought sounded downright strange. Food poisoning and actual poison were two different things entirely. Food poisoning was usually an accident and result of poorly prepared food. Something like cross-contamination, spoiled food, undercooked food, improperly packaged food, the list goes on. He digresses. The advisor shook his head and tucked some black hair behind an ear.
"Where did you get your hands on such things?" he wondered. Surely his parents would have noticed their son bringing home things like rat poison or cyanide. Yes, some of the most discreet things could end up toxic. But if he was creating poison, he must have some kind of lab. Could he really keep it hidden for years? (And if he did, how did Shinkami find him?)

Now, Nathaniel knew that the teacher didn't quite buy it, and of course it would sound strange. He'd supposed he should've thought it through a little more before making himself look silly. Naturally, food poisoning wasn't the same. But he hadn't known that at the time. He'd been young, younger than he was now. And poison had been poison. He'd researched it and it had turned into something else. But he was sure the other professor didn't want that whole story... or even why he'd chosen poison. Making people disastrously sick... even possibly killing them? What kind of kid wants that and tries to learn about it?
"My aunt," Nathaniel replied calmly, wondering if he should provide more information and figured there could be no harm, "Mostly she gave me books and she'd never let me study the really volatile things."

...how very...strange. Nat was sort of beating around the bush, wasn't he? He kept avoiding answering Herei's question directly. The black-haired man shifted, rubbing the side of his face as he studied the student. Odd. Very odd. "What aren't you telling me?" he asked, a pleasant smile still on his face. If the boy wanted to play his game and mince words, so be it. The adviser had no issue changing the rules. He was allowed to, after all. It was practically his job.
After all, when he asked, he wanted to know. There was no point in pursuing a topic if you were not going to see it all the way through. It was a waste of time and resource, all which could be better spent some where else. Herei did not see the point in wasting his time. He was going to get his answers, whether Nat wanted to give them up, or not. It would happen. It always did.

"Forgive me, Adviser Fang. I don't quite understand the question," and at his words the smile slightly fell from his face. He didn't look guilty, only confused. His mask was perfect, always portraying exactly what he wanted it too. Especially to adults. Surely as the Adviser of the school, Herei Fang knew how his parents were brutally murdered and killed by those bloody aliens. Surely he knew all that. But to go into it would cause him to lose his temper; a thing he couldn't afford to do.
Instead, he cocked his head to the side a little and wondered vaguely in his mind if he'd ever get to study the things he wanted to from this class. But betraying none of this, he kept his attention on the other wondering if the whole thing had been a mistake and maybe he shouldn't have told the truth at all. Were poisons really so strange? He wasn't quite sure why they would be. Wasn't that why he was special enough to be in this school anyway?

Herei raised a hand to his mouth, robe hiding his small chuckle as he shook his head. He smiled at Nathaniel and shook his head again. The youth must be over-thinking it. "It's a very simple question," he reasoned, brushing a hand through his hair. "You aren't telling me everything." He knew he was right. Now he just needed to get the student to admit to it. And the thing was, there wasn't too much of a reason, anymore. It was the principle of the thing.
Of course, now he was distracting the Brit from his studies, but that was okay. It was like he was taking away from a teacher's time, and Nat was allowed to stay in here as long as he needed to. That aside, sometimes, there were more important lessons than the ones taught in books. Herei made a thoughtful noise, nodding to himself. Yes, they needed to teach more of those. No matter how smart you were, it wasn't useful unless you could apply in creative and innovative ways. Had to exercise every way of thinking.

Even the smartest people in the world, especially the genius' of society, frequently missed the obvious and over thought the simplest of things. But at this moment, he was definitely unsure what sort of answers and things the Adviser was looking for. Did he want to know the truth behind poisons? What he'd told the other was almost the truth, wasn't it? Good enough. He wanted to glance back at his notes, just to make sure, but he knew better than to look away from an adult while they were addressing you. It was rather rude. The whole thing was awkward actually.
Face still a mask of confusion, but as polite as ever, for he honestly saw no reason to be rude, the Brit pondered another question that he ventured to ask aloud, "What else would you like to know, Adviser?" Naturally, he wanted to please the other. He had an enemy among the students, he didn't need one amongst the teachers, especially one as important as Herei Fang. Naturally, there was something to learn by talking to this amazing man (who could possibly pass for a woman if Nathaniel hadn't known better.)

Herei tucked a strand of hair behind his ears, smiling quietly to himself as he watched the student puzzle over sometihng. The one and only reason behind something so challenging, if it could be called that, was just to get the boy thinking. If he wanted to progress to the next school soon, and the Adviser could only assume he did, he'd have to do some self-reflection. The boys needed to start growing up when they started moving up. In which direction? Well, how they grew up was really up to them.
"What do you feel like telling me?" he asked. There was plenty about him Herei already knew. But what was important to Nat? What did he feel like made him really special? When it came down to it, in the very end, it was the students who were going to make the difference.

Well now... that was a silly question. It seemed like they were playing a back and forth game now, and as manner-oriented as Nathaniel was, he just didn't see the point of this game. It almost felt as if he was being teased and dragged around on a string by this man, and yet, authority had ...well... authority. This was simply the way things were. It couldn't be changed and it was rather pointless to try. One simply didn't rebel against the ones in charge. It never went well. But what could he say? He glanced around at his notes and debated between two answers.
He could either come out and tell the other a random fact that was utterly pointless in the meaning of things (since the other most likely knew a lot of things about him already), or he could return it with the simple statement of 'what do you want me to tell you?'. Match game with game. Though, wouldn't that be rather rude and obnoxious of him? If he did something like that, wouldn't it be living up to that Aussie punk's standard of him?
Perhaps, he was over-thinking this entire thing. So he looked back up at the Adviser and made his choice, "There isn't much I can tell you that you don't already know Adviser, I'm sure. However, I wonder... why is it we don't have any aliens to study and whatnot? Aren't they the enemy?" So there. He had 'told' him something. He had asked the man a question from his inner mind, and waited curiously for the answer.
