1. Get a deck, pair of trucks, some wheels, some bearings and griptape. (go to a skateshop, they will direct you to the begginer boards, ECT. 2. As a begginer, wear a helmet, a skate helmet. 3. Push off, see how fast you can go without falling or swerving. when you have a feel for the board (might take a day or two)it should be as easy as walking. 4. Learn to manual, i can't tell you how to balance on your board, thats your problem. 5. Practice riding with you back foot in front, then push down and shift your legs from back to front and vise-versa. 6. For turning, apply pressure to your toes turn that way, and apply pressure to your heels to turn the other way(it's harder). 7. When you feel ready, try going off a sidewalk, just lift your nose(end of board) off the ground right when you go off the curb. this will take a couple tries and you will fall. 8. when you have all of this down pat, you can go onto Begginer level.
Begginer
NOTE- The ollie. i will warn you, this will piss you off so much that it's not even funny. you will throw your board, you will yell. THIS IS NORMAL. The ollie is so hard because it's the first trick you will learn. Once you land it though, it opens up a endless amount of tricks. DON'T SKIP THIS TRICK.
1.Okay, for the ollie, you want to have your back foot in the back(duh). your front foot should be in the middle somewhere. Bend your knees and straighten your back foot, when the tail hits the ground, immediettly push off the tail and jump. drag your front foot up the griptape(DO NOT SLAM). bend your knees to your chest so that the board goes in the air. straighten your knees a bit and brace for the landing and ride away like a pro.
2.The B/S shuvit.(where the board spins a 180 so your tail and nose swithch places.) (B/S stands for backside) Have your back foot hang off the tail so that the heel is the only part of the foot on it. the front foot shouldbe the opposite. the toes should be the only thing on the board. Hook the tail with the half foot thats off and push twaurds yoo while your front foot pushes away. During this, you need to jump high and bend your knees. land with your feet straight and ride away.
3.F/S 180 ollie. This trick is simple if you are good at ollieing. Have your front foot right behind the front bolts. You want to ollie and push your back foot away from you and your front foot twoards you. YOUR FEET SHOULD BE PARRALELL TO YOU SHOULDERS. complete the turn and you will land in faki position.(you back foot in front). ~Note this info was taken from a good friend of mine~
