WW's PWN!!! Especially the low WW's, I play Bass Clarinet. Sorry brass, but since you can't keep your trumpets under control, I have almost no respect for you.

This is such a dangerous thread. I say "Kick a** Brass!" The melody is always given to the trumpets or trombones because you can hear us, unlike woodwinds. You can have an army of flutes, and they'll still be drowned out by 5 trumpets razz

Woodwinds... For sure.
Woodwinds have bassoons, oboes, english horns, and saxophones... and NOTHING can beat that.

Woodwinds are better (and I consider French horn a woodwind instrument because it sounds nice)...Brass is disgusting. Trumpets are too loud and everyone who plays them are stupid and can't play his instrument properly; trombones are arrogant freaks and their instruments are creepy; baritones...er...well...I can't say anything negative about them, but still, bass clarinet is better! And the tuba...is just laughable.

Okay, clarinet is cool (my best friend plays clarinet).
HOWEVER, brass is still undeniably the superior instrument group!
Sure, the trumpets are MOSTLY arogant pricks, Sure, the tubas can be laughable, (but DON'T laugh at Average Joe!!! Of the three that just graduated, he was the only one who could play the original scores; one played trebble and the other couldn't read music at all!!!)
But at my school, the sweetest guys play trombone! One of the two kids I'm crushing on plays trombone for heaven's sake! And the other is a good friend of mine!
As for baritones/euphonums, I mostly play them, so it's good tha you didn't diss them!
French horn players are either the meekest or the most in your face members of the band. I don't care, so long as they can play well...
And not all trumpets are arrogant pricks! The other kid I have a crush on plays trumpet, and he is funny, nice, and nothing close to in your face or arrogant, and he sure isn't a p***k!
As for the WOODWINDS, for the longest time I absolutely hated clarinets because they squeaked all of the time and the people in my grade who played them barely knew which end to blow into, much less which end to blow with!!! (sorry, long-standing inside joke) However, now that there are auditions to get into the band class I'm in and my best friend plays clarinet, I've grown to like them better.
Basoon players at my school = pompous, jack-@$$ pricks...
Saxes are horrible at my school, being right up there with the basoons, though I do know one decent kid. He plays pretty well, and is a heck of a lot nicer than the others!!!
Flutes can be okay, depending on who plays them. Generally, in this section, I find that the nicer the floutist, the better the sound...
Oboes have a wonderful sound, but the people who play them are just...well...not right in the head, shall we say?
As for the piccolos, don't even get me started. Them playing = instant headache. The girls who play them are as screechy as their instruments and the guys who play them are even BIGGER pricks than the bassoons!!!
Overall, brass wins...
Though percussion (specifically drumline) does on appearance...
(drumline guys at my school like walking around without tops on before rehearsal, and hang out in just their boxers before competitions!!! They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING RIPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Woodwinds are definitely better. I play bass clarinet, and in my experience, pretty much everyone who plays brass are obnoxious and rude guys who don't take anything about band seriously.

brass ftw, because any brass instrument is louder than any woodwind instrument. and also, if it rains outside, wws can't play because there instruments get messed up, while the brass go out rain shine, or any where in between. and brass sounds better.

WOODWINDS!!!! Think about it. Brass instruments depend on the simple three fingers and lip movements. Woodwinds depend on all ten fingers and the lip movements and not only that, but we play soft, gentle, music, while the brass are known for loud music that could start a stampede. Not only that, but name one brass instrument that could get you a scholarship if played correctly. I can't. Woodwinds can get scholarships from the oboe, english horn, bassoon, and more!

MinorHeaven (and I consider French horn a woodwind instrument because it sounds nice) You what? surprised Meh. I've had some really bad experiences with french horn players. There are a few people that can play it, but most can't... and it takes somebody who can play it to make it sound any good. After hearing so many people not be able to play it properally I really grew sick of the instrument. Woodwinds > Brass. (just had to say it again, because it's true!)
