With Ushu into the safety of the North House's walls with his mate and cubs, he had faith that they were all safe. If he was not around, surely Ushu will do his job at the Royal Guard, besides, Mwana could maul anyone if one pushed her the wrong way. Trust this one, she was easy to push. Five cubs... Two daughters and three sons, those of which held the traits of the rival prides; Firekin and Mistweavers. The Ethiopian Highlands were a sanctuary, the pride hidden high up in the crevasses on the mountains and hills, the waterfall washing away any wafting scents. With the way the main den was set in his House, the cubs were safe for a while.

Now his search turned upon another family, more so was the female that led it. Adia'dafina was the female that he had grown rather close to since he had met her numerous of times during his hunting trips for his once pregnant mate. Oddly, she was pregnant herself without a father about.

Damn soft spot for single mother families....

For the past moon, the large ex-Firekin wandered the highlands in search for that den hidden beneath a tree. If only he could remember where she was. In his mind, as long as time passed, it meant that she was struggling to feed the growing cubs and herself. With all the strength he had to spare, he threw it all into his paws to carry him across the land. Such strength to propel that large body of muscle across the grasslands as if he were flying.

"Adia... hold out for us..."

It was by coincidence that Trigger was joined by someone else on the run, though this one ran at quite a distance. She had to or he might be swept up in her path, not that Chamchela was even aware that someone else was out there currently, and if she had been... well, lucky for him she wasn't, in any case.

The twister, small by most standards, running the horizon, suddenly veered course and cut across towards the red male.

So, perhaps it was said too soon, and he'd been noticed.

All at once the winds died down and with a thunderous "THUMP" the lioness burst forth at a sprint, only slowing down when she was drawing close enough to see who was running past and why he seemed so familiar.

She stopped... smirked... and waited. Would he recognize her for the little juvenile he'd met by the Pridelands all that time ago, or would he have forgotten her in all this time?

As he ran, he felt that strange sensation again. The air all around him seemed to repel from him, away from him. To be safe, he jumped back, lowering himself into an offensive crouch. Coming right at him was a whirling funnel of wind, ripping up patches of grass and dirt before dissipating. Oh yes... he knew what it was and what it meant. Smirking, the large Lord rushed forth toward the Goddess of his past.

"Well, it seems our paths have crossed once more, Chamchela,"

Trigger, now going by Sheng Kou, stood before her with his regal presence. Now Lord of the North House of Tianxia, he was not going to falter to anyone, not even the Goddess of Tornadoes. This one had a lot of respect from the male and that was the only thing that was saving him from leaving to find Adia.

Then again... Mwana had told him to socialize and become ... forgot the word, but it was to get him out there and change from his grumpy and dominant ways. Too bad he was still dominant.

"Were you planning to suck me into that tornado? With the size of it, I guess you learned how to control yourself a bit more. Goes to say that a strong body like that could control such a strong force of nature."

To this Elly just laughed, it was far from the light hearted laughs of her childhood days, the innocent and uncorrupted one at least, but this laugh was at least still genuine.

"And what would you say if I answered yes? No... I just wanted to see how you'd react. Not too many mortals charge a twister head on, unless of course they're insane." She smirked dryly with the tease. "So Trigger, are you just plain insane or did you realize it was me?"

She'd be surprised if he did, since it had been so long, but then again it was obvious once she had dispelled the windy "beast".

At the comment on her control she gave her unruly "mane" a shake, a bit of dust and dirt sifting about in the air after. She was obviously proud of the size she'd grown into, taking after her grandfather. "What the heck are you doing way out here anyway? This is no where near where I saw you last. You have a change of taste or something...?"

"If you said yes, then I'd had no choice than to cuff you one in self-defense," Sheng chuckled and turned his attention else where. "I'm not insane, not right now, if I was, we would not be here talking right now. However, I did notice it was you when I saw that tornado, obviously my instincts kicked in to tell me to fight, but I figured it was you. I know your abilities and we do not see many of those around these parts."

Since being with Mwana, becoming a father, becoming a Lord, meeting Ushu and Adia, he too had changed. He had become more tempered but there was some things that never changed. That constant growl still rolled inside his chest, a way of warning others of his current level of anger. The louder, the worse, but, in general, he was always growling.

"Hold your tongue, Chamchela, you are speaking to a Lord now," Sheng spoke with a rather sarcastic voice, joking of course. "I now live here in the Ethiopian Highlands with my mate and our cubs, we are part of the Tianxia pride. I have been proclaimed as Lord of the North House, the symbol of our pride's strength and power."

"By the looks of you, it seems you have changed a lot too. Bigger, stranger, and beautiful... in your own rough, tough way."

Elly snorted at the Lord bit, then that snort turned into a chuckle, but stopped short of being a flat out laugh. She had that much respect at least.

"Wow... that title couldn't possibly sound more stuffy, could it?" She asked while attempting to keep a straight face. "... Kids, huh? Damn, why's it seem like everyone I run into these days is starting a family?"

A roll of the eyes, of course, Elly didn't say that she'd promised to do the same for Mrost one day. For one, Trigger didn't know Mrost, two, he didn't know Elly that well so it wasn't his damn business anyway, and three, he didn't need to know because of reason two, even if he -wanted- to know. Elly wasn't a kid person, and she didn't go around trying to indicate otherwise.

"Well, congratulations on the promotion." She smirked a bit, her version of a grin at least. "Seems like you've still got your eyes in working order... Have you gotten any stronger since our last encounter?"

This was as close to small talk and acknowledgment as the goddess usually got, it was strange what age could do to a person though.

"A bit, but I won't turn it down. I made promises that tossed this responsibilities on me. At least with this, my cubs are safe within the pride's territory," he gave her a stern glare at her laugh. She had some respect for him, but he felt damn right insulted. If he was not afraid that he would get far too injured to search for Adia, he would have gone ahead and smacked her one. A mortal killing a Immortal would make a tough and long fight. He had his endurance and stamina and strength, but he cannot last forever.

Sheng was proud of what he became; a father, a mate, and a Lord. He had came quite the distance since he met Elly before. He was just a rogue, living off pure instinct and relying on primal strength. He would roar it to the world if he felt like it, but other things came first.

"Promotion, look at you, don't think you are superior thanks to your birthright," he gave a cocky smile back in return. "But you are right, I do have my things to get in order..."

Sheng smirked.

"Are you challenging the Lord of the House of strength? Are you sure that is wise?"
PostPosted: Tue May 27, 2008 8:52 pm

"Hey, if you think I'm being sarcastic, that's your problem." She snorted, easily reading his glare. "Doesn't make me a bit of difference either way, and, uh, yeah, I -am- superior and it -is- largely in part to my birth right. Maybe you don't realize what kind of a role we gods play in your lives because you never get to meet some of the sissy domains like Unity, and Peace, and Balance, and Health and Mkodi knows what else have you, but most of us are looking out for your best interest. Don't lump us in with your mortal lot." She glowered, straightening.

It was one thing she hated, being told she was no better than a mortal, more or less, or not to think she was better "just because" she was born a goddess. There was no "think" about it, it was simple fact! They-- most of them anyway --were superior in almost every way, flight, the ability to live without needing things like food and water, their long, long life spans, and that wasn't even getting into their powers. If Demi-gods were considered "brighter" and "better", then damned if she was going to be second to a mostly large number of half breed mortals.

Elly was one of a very distinct match set. Her other half was out there taking part in their contest somewhere, and Elly could, SHOULD very well be doing the same, but Trigger had once been someone she took a partial liking to, and she did try to avoid killing those that she had at least once liked, or still did.

"If I was to 'challenge' you, it wouldn't be much of one, you can bet on that. So don't -you- get cocky and think your superior because you're a leader now."

Was that what it was like listening to her? Geez, well at least she was justified in thinking she was all that.

((OOC: I do -not- share her sentiments. |D She's so ARROGANT!))

Sheng scoffed and turned his head to the side.

"Settle down, Chamchela, you are getting riled up for no reason. I could call you a mutt, a mortal, and it wouldn't change the fact that you are still Chamchela, the Goddess of Tornadoes," he smirked, his sharp green eyes gazing at her. The God, or mortal, who claimed her as a mate was one very bold and, in Elly's words, insane to run straight on to this tornado. "Don't talk to me about how Gods live for us mortals, I understand that much but I did not ask for their help. I can stand on my own four paws, if I needed help from you divines, I would ask for it. Otherwise, your company is all that I would require."

The Gods, they were often times a sore spot for this lion. Finar'si, the Goddess that apparently gave birth to the Firekin pride. With his bottomless hate for that pride, she was clumped into their blood lustful group. He had been told stories that she was the most important, that he had to worship her or be beaten. If the Goddess lived for mortals, she would have never allowed such things... right? If Ezekiel was around... well, he would say that immortals and mortals are not too different, both eat, sleep, love, feel pain, and mate, the only difference is that one never dies and have powers. Strange logic that kid had...

Sheng's urge to harm others during his rampages were always dangerous. Even Mwana and his cubs were unsafe if it weren't for a certain meerkat blabbing the methods to stopping him. If he happened to have thrown himself into one right now before his friend, well, one of them was going to end up dead and the other injured. Smiling to himself in thought, if he fought with Elly... he felt he would lose, would have deserved it for, involuntarily, trying to kill a friend.

"It depends, are you certain you would want to kill the father of a family, leaving his cubs fatherless and his mate mateless? A pride without its leader?" He smirked, chuckling a little. "If it is the last thing I learned out here; it was to never take everything too seriously. We are friends, aren't we? I wouldn't want to fight you anyway."

"I just happened to run into you while I was seeking out a certain female and her litter. I have some duties to attend to and recruiting this one is on the top of my list. If you want to fight me, do it after I am done. I'll accept the challenge then."

(( OOC: lol, understandable. Sheng can be a jerk but he's still a brawn>brain brute. AND congratz on the cubs with Ahai/Elly :3 ))

Elly frowned, then shook her head. "Whatever. Think what you want, but insult me to my face and you're asking for it." She growled, shaking out her wings a bit. "And hey, stop and think about that for a second. My domain is tornadoes, do you really think that they have any sense of prejudice or preference...?"

It was simple truth. Sometimes her creations claimed lives, regardless of health, age, occupation, marital status, species, or in the case of humans-- race.

"A point and something I will have to remember when I am dealing with you. You should control your powers, then they are at your mercy," The Lord replied, settling himself down. He wasn't going to offend this Goddess any longer, he had to find Adia and her cubs. However, if he was able to recruit this Goddess, it would make their pride and his House even stronger. But that was her choice and this wasn't exactly the time to ask a divine who couldn't control her powers to do so.

"If I were my half brother, I would apologize, but I could give two shits. Just consider myself apologize if I stop mocking you."

Sheng looked around for a quick escape. Would she allow his leave or will she continue to talk with him.

"Now, with that said and done, are you going to let me get back to my duties before I lose the trail of this family?"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 10, 2009 7:10 pm

Elly groaned, extremely irritated, and tired of hearing that. Control, control, control!

Well, the one thing she could control now was her temper, at least a tiny bit. Trigger, for as talkative as he could be, was still somewhat a friend of hers, or at least he was someone she knew from cub-hood.

She brought a paw to her face, gently pressing between her eyes as if to ward off a growing headache.

"I control what I can, Trigger," It was habit to use the nickname he'd given her as a cub, after all. "--you know that, but I can't just rewrite the way that tornadoes work." She ground out, marveling at her own patience. Normally she'd just snap and write it off, but he was right, even if it had been her powers he'd been referring to. Hearing that he was in a hurry she resisted the urge to sigh, still tense and worked up, but having decided to find some other way to take it out. "Yeah whatever. Go do your duty or... whatever you're talking about." She waved a paw absently, dismissing him. As for her, she was going to stay for a little while and practice a bit.

Sheng smirked and got up, moved toward her.

"I thank you for that," he bent down slightly to her ear. "Just remember, only few are allowed to call me that," the lord whispered. He needn't say more, he expected he knew what he meant. She was trusted by him, he liked her, and he did respect her.

Though he definitely needed to work on his own social skills, it was a miracle Mwana fell for him. Sheng nodded and brushed past the Goddess onto the path he had remembered Adia once was. If he had her, that was one more lioness and many more members for the House.
