The herd paused to drinkand he stopped with them, taking a long cool sup from the water. It felt good to take a drink with his friends, without any real fear. Of course, he little expected to happen what happned next. Prey he was and rpedictions he most certainly didn't have. There was a huge splash of water and one of the great dark wilderbeasts sank in to the water. the rest of ehr herd scattered and in the panic, confusion and heavy hoof beats, the little god of prey found himself bolting in to unknown territory alone and frightened.
Standing beneath the shadey trees, with the sounds echoeing all around him and his heart racing, he thought he could not possibly be more frightened. He scented the air, his ears swifeling in a very antelope like manner as he listned for anyone approaching. Was he safe? Or was what evr had plummeted fromt he water not far behind him? he whimpered. "Dun wanna be eated."

Quite oblivious to an unfolding dramas, Aharu'kai fairly skipped through the trees. The return of the rains had been awesome. There was actually some green stuff, and more water, and...what was that?
At the sound of whimpering, the young goddess paused and tilted her head. "Hello? Is someone there?"

"Meep!" It was the only sound he could manage to convey to the questioning beast, whom he couldn't yet see, he dove to his paws and hooves in the fastest time he had ever managed and squeezed himself against the large tree to try and be as small and unobtrusive a possible. "Please don' eat me! I dun wanna be eated!" He managed at last his head lifted as high as possible as he scanned for the 'intruder' whom was clearly going to make him in to breakfast.
Huge doe like eyes swivelled about in search of the voice slowly falling on a cub, that really didn't make it any better, he was always worried about his brother eating him, why wouldn't some other cub decide he was the entre'?

"Don't eat you? But I haven't even seen you y- Oh, there you are!" Thanks to his pleading, Aharu'kai was finally able to pinpoint the speaker - and man, was he ever weird! He had to be a god, of course, but he had horns and hooves and a funny tail! Definitely weird.
"Silly!" she scolded, giggling, "What would I eat you for? I'm not a..." What was the word again? "A cannibal!"

Large, doe like eyes blinked owlishly at the goddess, she was a goddes, she had wings. His nose twitched and he calmed slightly. She wasn't a cannibal, wait, "Whats a cannibal?" He blinked, unsure of the term.
"Wwell you are a pre..pre..predator and predators eat prey." His small high held ears perked worriedly. "Y..you won't eat me will you? I won't taste good, I promise.."

"Cannibals eat their own kind! Lions who eat lions, and stuff like that." Aharu'kai nodded matter-of-factly.
"What're you goin' on about? You aren't prey! You're a god, just like me." Of course, he did look a little like prey, thanks to the hooves and antlers and stuff, but he mostly looked like her.

Palahala gulped a little, the other god was rather more brash than he and he wasn't sure how to take her. Seeing her being so matter of fact made him calm a little. "I..I'm always worried my brbrbrother will eat me." Maybe his brother was a cannibal, after all he was literally predator.
"I guess as long as you're not a cannibal." he mumbled looking at his small hooves nervously. "What's your name?" He looked up at her blinking those big doe like eyes, he still felt a little frightened, a deer in the headlights that were this other gods eyes, but she had promised she wasn't a cannibal, that was something at least.

"What would your brother eat you for? He's not a cannibal, is he?" She wasn't always totally enamored of her siblings, being young, but she wasn't afraid of them or anything.
"Aharu'kai," she answered proudly, "Goddess of Thieves."

"He..well..I don't know I always fear he will, my brother is the god of predators." He swallows hard and fidgets a little looking at his hoofed fore feet. "I am Palahala, the god of prey beasts, I'm always worried he will eat me."
He let the name and the domain sink in to his young mind and he lifted his head blinking owlishly. He suddenly felt quite glad he didn't tote any jewellery like some of his siblings, this goddess seemed nice but if she was goddess of thieves she probably knew exactly how to take things without anyone noticing.

"Ohhhh," Aharu voiced, finally understanding why he might be afraid of his brother - and why he looked so funny! "That's no good. Wouldn't your mom stop 'im if he tried to eat you, though?"

Palahala had to think about this question, he supposed she would but he was always cautious about what his mother would or would not do. "I actually, don't know." he stated quietly his brow furrowing in to a deep crease. "I don't know if she would obey my brother over myself, he is the more powerful presence.." he sighs heavily and shakes his young head in slight annoyance.

Looking at the goddess quietly the young male smiles a weak sort of smile. "It's complicated." He sighs heavily "My mothers domain is obedience, she feels the compulsion to obey. She obeys my father, when he's around, I don't know if she would obey me. I'm not what you would call, a strong god. I worry that she would obey my brother to let him" he gulps "eat me" he shakes his head nervously "I do wish she would listen though. It's nerve wracking having predators for a brother." He laughs a single snort of a laugh "Not like I can do anything about that though right? You can't change who you are related too."
