The sun filtered over the horizon, shimmering down on his young, slender features, large, doe like eyes opened to greet the world slowly, the bright sun wakening his sences and pulling him from his peaceful sleep.
He stretched in an awquard manner, his tiny hooves reaching out to stretch his mucles. This looked so strange he knew, no antelope ever did this, but he was at heart still a cat and it was something that all cats needed to do when they woke from their sleep, to chase away the aches and pains which sleep caused to the young mucle.
Palahala sighed and looked in to the den, he had taken to trying to be near the edge, it was strange being half afraid that your family was going to eat you. It was somethign ingrained though, after all his 'twin' was predators and a preys worst enemy was a predator. That feeling which made his heart run faster had caused this gradual movement to the edge of the den, if he needed to run, from here he had a straight shot for the long grass and a place to hide, a place to lay in a form just like the young antelope fawns, he could pretend like he wasn't there. It was wonderful.
Of course, this sleeping on the edge of the den also meant that he was usually up first, which gave him a chance to get up and maybe look around for a nice herd to spend the day with, there was usually a group of some prey beast or other.
He rose slowly on his small, hoofed fore legs, his paws following, he shook his small furry tufted head, his ears twitching from left to right in a way oh so remeniss of a prey beasts, his antelope like tail swishing back and forth before he started to trot away from the den, hsi small hooves making a clip clopping sound as he went.

Palahala was certainly the first up and about, but he wasn't always the first awake. Chuck was slowly becoming a little master of keeping still even when her mind was moving a mile a minute. Her dreams were often a somewhat frantic mix of all her siblings' and could frighten her awake.
She heard the distinctive and unique sound of her brother's front hooves and shuffled until she saw him disappear out of the den. In a single and inelegant move, she rolled onto her paws and got up quickly, trotting after Palahala.
She waited until leaving the den before shouting after him.
"Where you going?" she asked after him.

The shock of hearing someone speak to him caused him to jump, his big brown eyes going even wider, if that was at all possible. His heart raced and for a moment his tongue dropped from his mouth in a pant. "You..you scared me Chuck." He whispers, his voice very quiet, his ears swiveling to find any sounds he might have missed. he always seemed to miss his sister, she was just so quiet.
"I, well, I want to see if I can find a herd to spend the day with before Uhaijizi wakes up. It's safer with them" He mumbles his little nose sniffing the air around him, searching, to make sure that their brother and his twin was not hideing behind their sister.
"I thought you were asleep." he stutters watching his sister with quiet contemplation, she was really the one sibling he was least afraid of, she seemd to be so like himself, it was odd, but at the same time he was happy to have someone in his family whom didn't make him feel like he was going to be eaten at any moment.

"...I couldn't sleep, was having weird dreams and junk..." she mumbled her excuses, not always happy with the constant pull inside to 'fit in' with whoever was closest.
At the moment though, it was Pala, and despite his twitchyness, he was a far more calming influence than the others. She looked about dutifully, also listening for anything malicious and keeping an eye out. Luckily for Pala, he resembled the appearance of a lion more than a prey-animal, so she was pretty sure he had nothing to fear from mortals.
Compelled to help him out, she nuzzled him and then stood by his side.
"Lets find you a herd then," she said in an odd manner. It was enthusiastic, but she didn't smile. She rarely smiled.

Palahala smiled at his sister, it was on a quick glimer of a smile, but a smile none the less. "Thankyou Chuck."
He lifted his tail then his antelope like fluff curling upwards as he trotted along. It had taken him sometime to find out how to cope with having hooves, learning much from those he considered his 'bretheren' the antelope, klipspringers and waterbucks of the savannah, they had shown him how to walk how to move and even how to stand, though this still needed soem work, he wasn't nearly as fast as the fawns or calfs in rising from a snoozing possition.
"DDo you think our brother will eat me when he gets older Chuck? i think he only doesn't now because of mama and papa." he sighs, clearly this was somethign weighing heavily on his mind.

Chuck walked on dutifully, a girl on a mission this morning. She kept checking to make sure her brother was still beside her and then scanning the horizon for either a herd or a bad guy. 'Bad guy' could be anything really - another lion that wanted a cub-wich for breakfast, or worse, something like a hyena. She didn't face Palahala to answer his question.
"Oh I don't think so. You'll be bigger by then...although I suppose he'll be bigger then too...hmm...maybe, but I think mother or father will stop him, or Tobi will protect you."

Palahala blinked. He wasn't really sure if that was the answer he was looking for. His brother could potentially eat him when he was old enough? Blinking his big doe eyes he hoped that wouldn't happen. Maybe Chuck was right though, their father wouldn't let him get eaten? Would he? It was a scary thought.
Taking a breath he scanned the world once again in search of his brother. he knew he wasn't even awake yet, it was just him and Chuck in the early morning light. "I dun wanna be eated Chuck, you think i can hide from him? Like forever? What if mama or papa isn't there?" His brow crinkled in an unhappy manner, clearly this was weighing heavy on his mind, and he clearly thought the little goddess could answer all of his questions.

Chuck was beginning to wonder if she was also a nervous sort or if her brother was simply rubbing off on her. She kept feeling little nervy and anxious pangs hit her, and that same sense of worry wash over her. But...she had nothing to fear over being eaten by her brother...did she? He was lord over predators afterall...what was to stop him going a step too far?
She shook her head of silly thoughts.
"You're his BROTHER. He can't eat his brother," she said finally and resolutely, as if this should be the one and only answer. "And if you hide, you'll miss stuff. You'll miss seeing the world and stuff. You'll miss me."

Palahalas ears flattened for a moment, he almost felt guilty that he would think his brother would eat him. Chuck clearly thought that it wasn't a possibility, but the heart of a prey beast beat in the little gods chest and it called for him to flee if theer was a predator stalking. he doubted that he could stop that from happening.
"I..I guess you're right but it's hard, I often think he's right behind me waiting to pounce on me and make me in to lunch." He licked his lips nervously and perked his ears once again before he trotted on. he felt oddly safe beside chuck, like she was his protective shadow, a guardien angel even making sure he kept his head and haunches in tact.
"I'd always coem and find you chuck." He smiles leaning to nudge his sister with an affection he hardly ever issued. "You're nice and I don't feel like you're here to eat me all the time."

"Well I wouldn't eat you, would I?" she laughed and nudged back. "And thats good. Out of everyone, I feel a bit more normal around you. I don't like how I feel around Uhai..."
There. It wasn't nice for a sibling to comment so negatively about another sibling, but thats what it was like with Chuck. Pala could be scared of his brother, but that didn't mean he hated him. Did Chuck...hate...being around the others? That couldn't be it. Her pace had slowed a bit as she was musing, but like always, she just shook it away and moved onto other thoughts.
Huzzah! The smell hit her first, and then the sight. A little group of small springbok. Chuck halted suddenly.
"There we go!" she beamed at Pala. "Some of 'em even have horns like you."

The little god smiled, a whole big hefty weight lifted from his small shoulders as he saw the herd, a herd he could relax and sit in, a herd he could play in and sit in moderate saftey with those he felt more of his kind.
Turning to his sister he nudged her gently with his nose. "No Chuck, I don't think you would eat me, but you and our brother are very different, he was built, made to kill." he sighed heavily, what more could he say than that?
Looking back once again to the herd he took a step away from chuck. "Do you want to come for a little while? We can sit with the fawns, they are ever so calming." he smiled, hoping his sister might join hhim, he did enjoy Chucks company almost as much as he enjoyed the herds.

"Won't they be afraid of me? I mean...I'm not as non-lion as you are," she commented, looking down at her paws, and then at his hooves, and back to her paws.

The young god smiled genuinely then, he knew that Chuck wasn't like him and that he was more prey than predator, but still, he knew chuck would be okay "Don't worry, They will let you come and see." He smiles taking a few steps forwards anw aiting for his sister to join him.
"Come they are waiting to meet you."

"Okay..." she took a deep breath. "If you say so, I mean they are your kin I suppose....just remember who your favourite sister is."
She nudged him playfully as she caught upto him and cast him a beaming smile. Chuck was certainly an odd one, quite often so desperate to conform and changing herself to do so that her real personality was so rare to see.
But she made an effort for Pala, always.

Palahala let a weak, but genuine smile cross his maw. "they will like you Chuck, I just know it." He whispers leading her in to the herd.
The herd barely lifted it's head, the odd antelope raised its doe eyes to look at the two small gods but it did not flee.
Palahala exerted the feeling of being a fawn, he was one of them, he loved them, he would never hurt them and the herd knew it. Slipping through the grasses the little god settled down in a small form right next to a fawn, which he nuzzled gently. "See they are glad you are here Chuck." he purrs his big brown, doe like eyes smiling.
