You have stumbled upon a mysterious shop front while walking the cobble stone streets of Durem. Random items clutter the dusty front window, but nowhere can you find a name of the shop. Curious, you decide to check it out. What could the harm be? Stepping in, a tiny bell above the door chimes, and you are met with a blast of warmth.

The shop looks more like a home than anything, and you wonder it maybe you stumbled upon a hotel. Your eyes drift lazily as you take in the sights. The entryway is somewhat tiny, with a wall of shelving for shoes directly in front of you. There is a reception desk directly to your left, but it is facing the same direction you are. No one sits in the roller chair. From there it quickly opens to a large area which looks like a living room, with an attached kitchen. The walls bulge out in giant horizontal pillars of wood, giving the effect of a log cabin. The fire place on the far end of the room is decorated with soft stones that reach to the ceiling, and the floor is decorated with a soft rug, a coffee table and some seating space.

Before you have time to take the rest in, a woman appears from a set of stairs, just around the corner from the shoe rack. Her hair is silvery in colour and pulled back, letting the bangs and some chunks fall to the side. Her bright red eyes met yours as she spoke.

"Welcome! Welcome! Please, take off your shoes and your jacket, and make yourself at home."

She smiles politely at you, offering her hand to take your coat.

Before he knew it, the two weeks had passed and Eiru found himself, once again, standing outside the strange shop. His paper rose had met all the weather extremes in the last fourteen days, yet it showed no sign of deterioration as normal paper does. For that reason, he became fond of it -- for he saw a little bit of himself. No matter what hardships came, he knew he could make it through.

It was a breezy day and the sun shone bright as usual. Eiru still couldn't believe it though... He actually came back. And now he was hesitant to enter. What's going to happen next? The wind ruffled his hair and pressed him even closer to the entrance. His hand tightened around the small black box that contained the flower.

Nothing to lose... right? Disregarding the dust this time, he gently pushed open the door.

Rose was sitting at the front desk, ruffling through a stack of papers, when the man had entered. She looked up, tiredly, and smiled to the familiar face. "I've been expecting you. It's nice to see you found the time to come back, Eiru." She stepped out from behind the desk, her socked feet padding softly against the wood floors. "Please, please, come in." She smiled, and pointed him in the direction of the sofas in the middle of the room.

"Would you like anything to drink?" She asked once again, heading in the direction of the kitchen to pour herself a glass of water. "Your stay shouldn't be too long, as I'm sure you have better things to attend to then my staidly old shop." She chuckled, pulling a glass from the cupboard, shoveling in some small ice cubes from the freezer. She pulled a jug of water from the refrigerator and poured it slowly over the ice, making sure the water became as cold as it could.

Eiru nodded at Rose and took a seat on one of the sofas. He didn't have to go back to his office after this, so he cared less what happened to his suit. "I have time today.. and as for a drink.. I'm good, thanks."

While Rose went to get herself some water, he opened the box. The paper rose was lying in the middle of white satin -- it's features seemed rough and uneven compared to the background's sheen. But even then, it seemed to glow. It had a beauty of it's own. He daintily picked it up and held it in front of his face. Rose's footsteps announced her arrival back, so Eiru shifted his gaze to her instead. "After all these days, it looks as though the weather had never touched it."

Rose sat quietly on the sofa, sipping her ice water. "Mmm. That's why I've kept the poor thing around. It just seemed.... special." She chuckled, letting her gaze fall over the frail paper rose. "I hope it wasn't too much to watch over it. It looks like you did a fine job." She smiled and took one last gaze over the rose.

She sipped her water and placed the cup down on the coffee table, letting her eyes fall back on Eiru. "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like you to bring the rose upstairs for a moment. By the fact the rose isn't falling apart I'd say everything checks out. We can jump right to business and not worry about any repairs." Rose slightly mumbled the last bits to herself, already standing up to head towards the stairs.

"This shouldn't take too long." She smiled.
