As you may have noticed, my name has been changed. If you haven't figured out who I am yet, this is veggie tales. If you were on here before I became Avatar Malia, you might have noticed that my name was 'veggie tales tales veggie', and my avatar had been deleted.
I came home from work today, and opened Gaia. I have everything automatically filled out already, so I just click Log in. So I did. And it told me my username was invalid. So I tried again. Invalid. So I tried like, thirteen more times. Invalid. So I tried to look up my profile. Doesn't exist. I had no idea what was going on. So I decided to look up a friend's profile I had commented on. I see my comment, my lack of avatar, and my username as veggie tales tales veggie. WTF. I figured someone hacked my account. I have never logged in somewhere else or given out my information, so I didn't know how or who. Though I did put my information in on the Gaia Battle whatnot page, even though that was still Gaia. I don't know. So I decided to make a new account to figure things out on. I filled everything out, but when I went to submit, it told me my email was in use. So that meant everything was changed but my email. Which meant I could still get on. I put in the username veggie tales tales veggie and clicked the 'Forgot information' link. I went on my email and reset my password. Which I now have to remember. I was back on my account. All my gold was there. All my items were there. Nothing had been changed but my avatar and my username. So I rebuilt my avatar, though now I have to pay for my hair again, and I changed my name. I couldn't be veggie tales. again, because they're not allowing periods, which upsets me, because I would've been able to keep mine. I could not be veggie tales without a period either, because my name was already veggie tales tales veggie, and since that was in use already and it was close to just veggie tales, they wouldn't let me have it. I could get it though if I changed my name to something else and then changed it back again. But I already had to pay 10k to get my name changed, because I had no more changes left, since I had used one already, and whoever hacked my account had used the last one. Which means it would cost me a total of 20k just to be veggie tales, with a lack of period, again. I was already pissed off, so I figured no. I'm just glad I got everything back together, with only the loss of 10k and my beloved username, may it rest in peace.

Yeah, it freaked me out. But if you read the latest announcement, you'll see they warn of scammers and hackers using popup images. That is the very image that popped up on me. I though it was strange it did, but it wasn't on forums or anything, it was on the battle page. I don't know how someone would get it on there. But yeah. It pisses me the hell off. They probably didn't mess with my entire account yet because they are probably getting a lot of people. I'm glad I didn't go on a hiatus and never get my account back. I'm also glad I was smart enough to figure how to fix it anyhow. :-/

... wait, aquatica, it's missing ... and I cannot find a trace of where it may have went. I checked my trades and my marketplace history, which only shows when I bought it.

Did you change your name before? There should be a number next to the change name box that says how many more times you can change your name for free.

I changed it once, and then the hacker changed it once. You can only change it twice. And since I payed 10k to change it again, the next time will have to be 20k.

The pop-up windows started when 4-chan supposedly raided Gaia last time. It was pretty recent. They connected them to images, so that's why images that weren't hosted by Photobucket were disabled. I have no idea how people are managing to do that now, but I haven't seen those pop-up prompts since the "raid".
They might've moved it by using the gift-giving system. I hate that thing with a passion.
