Kinthin plodded slowly through the grass, nose raised to the wind as he stared up towards the sky. He had been wandering in this general direction for some time and he wasn't sure why, or maybe he had forgotten the reason. Whatever reason he had had for it he felt it must have been important, otherwise he would not have left his makeshift home.
The sound of running water brought his attention away from the sky, down to a small creek that was running ahead. With half a day behind him he sat himself down beside it for a well deserved rest, taking a quick drink before turning his gaze back upwards.

[[color-#b38c41]]  Nuri bounded along between the trees. The day was amazing and so was her mood. Being so cheerful she pounced after a small rodent instead of being stealthy. "I'm gonna getcha!" Failing the first time she lept after it again and then again and then caught it finally by it's slinky tail. With a quick toss she flung it up in the air and snapped her jaws around it. GULP! That was that.
She continued along the way that she was going. She heard and smelled the water long before she seen it. A drink would be great right about now she thought. She pranced down to the creeks edge, had a quick look around, and started to drink. A small dragon fly made her look up. She followed it's zig zaggy flight across and down the brook. It was almost hypnotizing to watch.
She was about to dip her head down again when she thought she noticed a figure down the way. It was a bit had to see due to the over hanging catstails(bulrushes) and long grasses. Being curious she backed away from her drinking spot and crept down the brook. After a little ways she crawled through the grass and peeped out. She was right it was someone,another Q'ntor.

Kinthin pulled his gaze away from the sky to watch a dragonfly flit by, landing momentarily atop a cattail before it was off again. When he could no longer see the insect he shifted his gaze lazy over the surroundings. It was quite a nice place here, and he was tempted to stop early and just stick around until the morrow. After all it had water readily available and the trees would obviously house a meal, it was pretty much a perfect place to rest.
Having decided on it he decided to at least scout the area first, one never knew what could be lurking behind the next tree after all. He hopped easily over the brook and started to make his way further into the trees when a movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. There didn't appear to be anything there when he looked, though he watched the spot warily for a moment.
Furrowing his brow he turned his gaze away and continued forward, circling around in a large arch as he made his way towards the spot through the trees, though he did so unconsciously.

Nuri watched the male as he looked around, she ducked back into the grass when he looked her way. "Did he see me?" she thought. She was afraid to look back out again unsure if he would be friend or foe.
She backed slowly out of her spot, trying her best not to rustle the grass. She was doing quite well when she bumped into something soft and warm. "AaaaaAaaaah!!" she screamed. A few birds fluttered into the sky.

Kinthin raised his head as he watched the female back up and finally bump into him, before letting out a rather loud scream. His ears swiveled back at the sound and he scowled slightly. "Hush now, no need for that!" He took a quick step back and looked her over. "I do not intend to hurt you unless I am forced to, and I would rather not fight if I can avoid it." He raised his head slightly in wait of the females reply, tensing slightly in ready of a fight if it came to it.

"Oh heEEeeey!" She said surprised. "Fight!....oh no!! not me." She seemed startled at him mentioning it. She was not a fighter by far and never wanted to get in one if at all possible. "Sorry for the scream." She hung her head and looked up slightly. "I really didn't expect you to be behind me...or even over this way so quick." Maybe the last thing wasn't such a good thing to say since he would now know she was watching him. She shifted uncomfortably; ready to run if she had to. She was good at that...

Kinthin quirked a brow at the curious female, she seemed to be acting quite odd at the moment. He kept silent for a short time before taking another couple steps away from her, hoping the added space between them would make her less uncomfortable than she appeared to be. "Well then neither of us appear to want a fight, so then I don't see a need for one." He fell silent once again, mulling over what to say. He didn't really expect to come across anyone, and certainly not in such a strange way as this.
An awkward and seemingly forced half-smile came onto his maw as he mulled over what to do. He didn't have that must experience when it came to being sociable, especially with those of the opposite sex. "Ahh, well, I'm Kinthin, it is..nice to meet you."

She kept her eyes on him as he moved. "Well that's a relief! I'm not that strong to begin with so you would probably squash me." She decided to use 'squash' instead of 'kill' because it sounded less extream. "I'm Nuri and it's nice to meet you too!" she giggled. A small blue butterfly flew in between them. "So what brings you down this way?" I haven't seen one of my kind around this area in weeks." She scratched her ear with her back paw while still watching him.

Kinthin chuckled softly as he sat down. "Nuri, that is a nice name. I'm sure you would hold your own quite well in a fight." He let out another soft chuckle as he watched the butterfly flit by, perhaps on it's next flower seeking adventure. "I am merely passing through on my way to.." He trailed off, realizing he wasn't quite sure just exactly where he was headed to himself. "I haven't seen any others about either, and it seems quit odd for a place to be so quiet, aside from the birds and such about."

"Aww thanks." She smiled up at him."Yeah this place does be quiet a lot." She looked around. "Guess there's no noisy critters!" she made a slow light laugh. She desperately need to work on her social skills.
"Well I'm not up to much right now I was thinking on going for a swim down by the pool." She took a few steps towards him. "There's a nice swimming hole a mile or so down the river...care to join me?" She gestured in the direction with her muzzle. "It will be fun and it will be nice to have someone to talk to for a change!" She laughed. "There's only so much a flower can say to you you know." She bounded pass him eager to get to the pool with or without him.

Kinthin let out a chuckle of his own, which faded off as he tried to think of something else to say. He wondered why he hadn't just left already.
"Swimming? I really haven't gone swimming since I was smaller, but it sounds like it would be nice." He replied with a soft smile, though a moment later, as she bounded past, his ears perked forward in confusion. "Wait," He spun and hurried after her." what do you mean 'only so much a flower can say to you'? You don't seriously mean they can talk, do you?"
