AIM LOG: Tahja Estes & iPao v2

It'd been a long, very uneventful day. He'd been away from the jungle for quite a while now, and he really...really missed it. So, unable to keep himself away for too much longer, he'd started heading back several days ago. On his way back he passed a particular tree that brought back a very fond, very intimate memory of his. Albeit a one night sort of thing, as it was very unlikely for him to run into the same female cheetah again within a week. So, with a sigh, he approached the tree and settled down beside it, getting comfortable in the shade, recalling that fateful night...

The days had not been kind to her since she parted ways with Chui. Oh, it started off fine, with just a bit of confusion and guilt, but overall nothing that she couldn't have shaken off. It wasn't that she wasn't fond of Chui, but she'd never been with a male before, and somehow it seemed like the fact he was a leopard just complicated things. She was merely contemplating if it had been a wise decision to let things go that far when she ran into Moraith. Things went down hill from there.

Cursed, and unaware of it, the now permanent adolescent was finally returning home after a run in with a kind lion who had been nice enough to feed her and talk her out of hiding. As the familiar tree grew in sight she spotted a familiar form beside it as well, and quickened her step quietly, ignoring the burn of tears in her eyes.

"Chui..."

His ears twitched at the sound of the unfamiliar voice, and Chui lifted his head. Salmon pink orbs landed on that familiar black and pink pelt, and he almost smiled. Though...the look on her face seemed to keep him from actually smiling. So, with a worried glimmer in his eyes, he sat up and waited for her to reach him. He wasn't sure if he should keep his distance, after all...so he just sat. And watched her, and waited.

When she'd come close enough she simply sat before him and buried her head in her paws.

"Chui, something bad happened... at... at least I think it did, I'm not sure, I don't know..." She whimpered fearfully, not sure if he'd want to hear this from her, but maybe he could shed some insight, maybe he knew a bit more about gods and their powers and curses. "There was a goddess... and I think I made her mad. She yelled at me, and then she hit me with lightning, and now I feel weird like something really bad happened only I don't know what!"

He sat still, quite unsure what to do. Though, as soon as she started unloading her problems, he couldn't help but step forward and start to nuzzle her comfortingly. It was all he felt he could do, at least for the time being. When she'd finished talking, he stopped and lifted his head. "You ran into a goddess?" he asked. Admittedly, he didn't know the first thing about gods and goddesses. Sure, he believed they existed, but he'd never run into them, let alone anger one. "And she hit you with lightning?" he said, nuzzling her once more. "Come on, sit up Maisha."

With her so worried, he thought it might not be the greatest thing to tell her that there wasn't a thing he could help her with. But...well, he'd never be able to live with himself should she find out she was lying. "Well, I don't really know the first thing about gods and goddesses.." he then started to speak, having finally made up his mind. "But, well...if you're alive and well enough to be able to talk about running into a goddess, I don't see how she could've hurt you...right?"

It was only reluctantly that she did as he asked, sitting up slowly with his encouraging touches and words. She sniffed once, but otherwise seemed to have calmed a little, aside from the quivers wracking her body still from a bit of fatigue and emotional distress.

So he didn't know either... maybe mother would know what she should do.

"I guess..."

She refrained from pointing out the dozens upon dozens of possibilities that she'd been cursed in a way that wouldn't be immediately obvious, like maybe she'd forgotten something, or maybe she would scare away other cheetahs from now on, who knew? That was the problem with having run away before she could ask but she didn't want to get hit with ANOTHER curse.

He smiled and gave her a comforting nudge. "I am sorry though, for not really being able to help much." Chui sighed and looked at the adolescent rather worriedly. He wasn't stupid, and he knew that there were probably many, many other ways of hurting an individual other than physically. But...since all he could do was comfort her at his point, he figured it'd be best to keep her mind off of that. At least, as much as he could.

"Are you feeling sick? Or maybe hurting somewhere?"

"I'm really hungry... and really tired. I didn't eat much, I was too afraid to go out and hunt, and I was too scared to sleep much." She admitted a bit shamefully, cringing. She sounded more like a cub that she used to be rather than an adolescent who just liked to play a lot. "I'm sorry for worrying you and making such a fuss. It was my own fault."

Chui shook his head, still smiling that comforting smile, giving her a comforting nuzzle or two. "It's nothing, don't worry about it," he said. "If you want, I can go find you something to eat." He was worried about her, so it all he could do to help, especially after her particular ordeal. "So...what exactly happened?" he went on to ask, though he was a bit hesitant about it. It really wasn't his business, after all.

"Thank you... I'm alright for now." She replied, relaxing a little bit more at his nuzzles. She drew closer though and stayed close, just taking comfort in his being there, his warmth, and his larger frame to lean on. "She was just a cub, and she asked me to play but nothing that I did made her happy. She just got really angry and the next thing I knew I was hit by that lightning bolt. I ran after that. I didn't want her to hit me again."

"I see..." was all he could muster to say. They sat in silence after that, him content with her just leaning against him. There wasn't much else he could really say. "Well that hardly seems to be your fault..." he said at last, thinking through the scenario she'd described. "It just sounds like that particular goddess is picky with her games." Chui sighed, hating the fact that this was all he could do, examine what had happened but not do anything about it. "Maybe it'd be hard for even another god to make her happy."

"Mmm...."

As he was answering, her mind was drifting. It seemed like she finally felt secure enough to get some sleep, and her body had chosen here and now to do just that. She wasn't completely gone yet but she might as well be soon. It couldn't be helped, she felt so at ease around him, what could possibly go wrong?

"Maybe..."

Her eyes drifted shut next, she wouldn't last long at that rate.

Chui noticed that she was starting to drift off to sleep, so he, of course, let her, knowing she must have been exhausted by all that had happened. So he helped her lie down and rested beside her, though he kept his head up. She needed to catch up on her sleep, so he would stand guard until she woke up. And he was more than happy to. "You should rest now.." he whispered. "I'll find you some food when you wake up, alright?"

Instinctively she couldn't help but curl up against him, just like she had that first night when they'd finally drifted off to sleep. He was too warm for her to resist, so she gladly accepted his body heat and the protection and comfort and general security his larger form had to offer. "Okay..."

Her tail gave a defiant twitch, but already she was sinking a little lower from where she had opted to lean against his strong shoulder for a pillow, sleep would come quickly from this point, indeed.
