 Gaven walked through a field of wild flowers in the dusky of the setting sun. It would soon be dark, he kinda liked that though. He stopped in the middle of the field and watched the sun finish its course over the snow toped mountains to make it dark. He swished his braided tail a little, feeling it rub against the flowers. Their scent drifted on the wind, giving off a soft pleasing smell of various flowers. The night is so quiet. It allows for many things to be done with interruption and nothing to bother. Not that i have anything to do but the quiet is nice. He said to him self as the last rays of sunlight disappeared and he walked through the field. He was wandering through the mountains to see if there was some place he'd missed while he lived here. And This valley he was in right now seemed new to him, though he couldn't be sure. It might have just grown new flowers, the view of the mountains looked familiar. As he came out he saw some berries in a bush not far away and he walked over happily hoping some of them were raspberries.

Mittrei's eyes slowly opened as the sun worked it's way towards the horizon. Sunset. Not quite as nice as the full darkness of night but far better than the glaring brightness of day. She spread her wings to catch some of the last few warming rays. The warmth helped her to wake up further and gave her the energy to begin trotting along towards one of her favorite breakfast spots. The sweet nectar of flowers would make for a pleasant start to what would hopefully be a pleasant night.
She trotted out into the field and paused. Out there amongst her flowers was someone else. A stallion from the looks of it. If he had appeared after her breakfast she would have been more willing to have some fun with him but she wouldn't allow herself to be bothered before she'd eaten.
After sighting him Mittrei set about ignoring him, leaning down to bite a clump of flowers from the rich earth beneath.

Gaven's ear twitched hearing someone moving in the grass behind him. He turned and saw a female with large wings eating some grass behind him. He watched her and thought that he might let her eat before he talked to her or bothered her. And he was still a little hungry as well. He finished what berries were left, none of them being raspberries sadly but berries were still good, and then found a small bit of good looking grass to munch on as well. He watched her and hoped that she wasn't upset with him being here. Maybe she could show him around this part of the mountain. He liked seeing new places.

Once her stomach was full and the world around her a bit more dimmer Mittrei's mood felt infinitely better. She was ready to face the wide world right now, including the stallion that still seemed to be lurking around. She expected he was probably waiting for her to come over and talk to him. At least he had the good sense to wait and hadn't bothered her before she was ready. That gave him points for manners but she would see what other points he could rack up.
She flapped her large moth wings to take flight but didn't go far above the flowers she had just been grazing on. She let the gentle wind currents take her in a slow circle around the stranger and let her circle draw closer and more inwards towards him.
"Looking for something specific in this area?" she asked while still in flight. "We have quite a healthy population of skinwalkers and kalonas about. I'd watch myself at night if I were you." It was stretching the truth but she wanted to see how he'd react to the news. Would he turn coward and run away to safer grounds?

He looked up at her as she fluttered over towards him. He listened to her as he finished chewing on some rather pleasant grass and then looked around as he finished and swallowed it as she waited for his answer. "Not too worried about that. I've been around this mountain a few times, just not here in this valley yet, and haven't had any bad interactions with the skinwalkers yet, not to mention i havn't seen very many of them. Have you had problems with them?" He asked her as he looked over her. Her wings were large and quite pretty. And her antenna made her look mystical in a neat way. He smiled as he walked around her and stood aways away looking around. "Is there anything interesting in the area that you could show me, if you have time?" He asked softly as he look over his shoulder at her.

She landed abruptly with a snort. "What do I look like, the welcoming party for sight seers?" She tossed her short mane into the air only to have the majority of bangs land squarely over her left eye, as usual. She ignored that for the time being and focused on the strange stallion.
"It's neither polite nor wise to assume that the denizens of a certain area will welcome you and show you around when you arrive. Some soquili have been known to be very territorial." Her scowl turned into a cattish smile.
"Fortunately for you, I'm not exactly the correct build to go running you off, now am I?" Once again, she waited to see how he would respond to the baiting. She had no use for soquili with bad tempers or who couldn't take a joke.

Gaven shrugged and stomped his foot to get some grass off it and dirt from inside it. "Well i'm glad i could tell you might not chase me away. And if you don't want to show me anything i can certainly show my self around. I was just wanting to get to know someone who looked as interesting as you look." He said as he looked down and then looked at her. "But do you happen to know where any raspberries are? I could go for some right about now." He asked calmly. He had gotten the feeling she wouldn't run him off and that she was kinda nice cause she could have done it when she walked in here and saw him in the first place, but she didn't. He hoped that the raspberries where close to a nice cool water source.

Some soquili just didn't know how to take a hint. The question about the raspberries was enough to set her eyes rolling. "Really. It's not my job to show around lost stallions." She eyed him critically. "Unless you're not lost and you intended to wander into my area. I can't imagine why you would, unless lured here by tales of my astounding beauty and wit."
She smirked and opened and closed her wings once. "So, tell me... are you an admirer or truly the lost creature you pretend to be?"

Gaven laughed. "I'm not lost. I did hear there was a rather fetching looking female in this area some place but your by far more attractive then i heard. I am just wandering so you can just tell me where to go and i'll go find the berries my self. Inless youd like to accompany me there cause it would be nice to have some company cause its been a while since i've had someone to talk to. Would you like to go on a walk with me. If you like." He said as he looked at her, moved a little closer to look at her wings, the pattern was different then some wings he had seen and he liked how they looked in the moon light.

Good answer.
Mittrei lifted her head a little higher and fanned her wings smugly in response to the praise. She wasn't some silly filly that would fall head over heels when admired... but that didn't mean she couldn't take a compliment.
"I suppose I could show you to some sweet berries in exchange for your sweet words." Her own had lost the sarcasm and had taken on mischief. It could be that this stallion wasn't as much of a lost cause as most of the other ones that came this way. If he took a turn for the annoying she could easily ditch him. If not.. she'd allow him to keep her company for a little while.

Gaven smiled. "I'm glad my words have won you over. So which way?" He asked as he looked around for a direction and which why they would go. She seemed to like being on her own and probably didn't let other horses near her often, especially if they were annoying or bother some. He was glad she liked him, for now, though he would like to stay on her good side for a while. He might not stay here for very long but he would like to enjoy the time with her while he could. She was cute and nice as long as he wasn't annoying to her.

"This way." She began to walk ahead of the stallion and let her wings keep fanning around her as she walked. Ordinarily she would keep them tighter to her body to avoid snags, but company required more show. She knew that those as small as her could make few exceptions to keeping up appearances. They couldn't be intimidating in many ways other than their looks.
While walking, she turned her head over one shoulder to give Gaven a look over. "Nice dreamcatcher." The tone that she said it in and the glint in her eye turned a compliment into a tease instead. She couldn't exactly let things get too easy for her new companion.

Gaven walked with her and smiled as she fanned her wings. Was she trying to be intimidating and big? Or was she just showing off. He looked at his dreamcatcher and then looked up to see the teasing in her eyes and smiled sweetly at her. "Thank you. I've had it for as long as i can remember." He said as he followed her, at a distance so he didn't get in the way of her wings. "How long have you been in this area? Been here long or do you move about alot?" He asked as he looked at her and wondered what she thought of him.

"I've been here for a little while," she replied in an offhand manner. "Used to live somewhere else. Got bored of it. Left."
And there was her earlier life, summed up neatly in a few chopped up sentences. Yes, she had used to live somewhere else... her own little island paradise with a herd that practically worshiped her. It was idyllic, yes, except for the skinwalkers. That and boredom had been what had driven her out... not that this place was always more interesting.
"And I suppose you're one of those randomly roving stallions? Hmph. Men always think they own whatever piece of dirt they're standing on currently."

Gaven shrugged a little as they walked along. "I don't like to own things. I have a cave i like to stay in best but i mostly travel just to see other things. I don't want to own anything for my self. If that helps you think better of me. And what was this place like you lived at before? anything like this area or is this all very different from where you were?" He asked. He thought it must be different if this is where she had settled.
