Gulzar: Gentle Fisher
HistoryGulzar grew up in a village far from the forest where he now lives with his family. He grew up the best friend of Rajnish, and when a war started, they joined as teen colts, eager for a fight. Both quickly proved themselves the best fighters, but all the combatants lost their minds over the years. Gulzar was a solitary operative in the field, sometimes a guard, sometimes a scout, sometimes a spy, sometimes an assassin, the most valuable agent on their side. He was after a long time separated from Rajnish in a war where taurs went insane quickly, and suddenly broke when he was sent out to assassinate an enemy general and saw his orphaned children.
Shamed and horrified by what he'd done, Gulzar left the war and swore to spend his life caring for orphaned baby taurs in repentance for those whom he'd murdered in the war. Most came back from the war dead or in pieces. The survivors came home insane, and Gulzar is afraid of going berserk and ruining the lives of those he loves. He has locked away his berserker past and refuses to share his past with those who were not with him in the war.
PersonalityGulzar is a sweet-natured fisher. He is patient, but very determined to be a good father to the various young taur under his care. Sure, he doesn't always keep his eyes on them, but he takes care of them and makes sure they don't get hurt, get fed, get their sleep, and get baths, much to the chagrin of any children. He isn't very close yet to other taurs, and thinks he might someday in the future look for a nice lady centaur to have a family with, once Celine and Cernunnos grow up, so he won't disrupt them. He's quiet, but rather enjoys singing from time to time. It's easy to forget he's around. He doesn't like hurting others, but fishing is really important to him. His rules about fishing: don't disturb him unless it's an emergency involving blood, illness, fire, or his young charges. He's always willing to help teach another taur how to fish. He has carefully made sure no taur could possibly know his title from the war of the Bloody Rose.
