Greetings all, I have acquired an airship recently in a game of chance from an old captain at the pub. He has decided to head out to greener pastures. Some of the crew is still around, and are welcome to keep their positions. But to be honest, I'm no captain, I need somebody who can run my ship. I am capable of flying it but I'm not the best leader. Airship: Khaos Arsenal: 4 Med cannons, 1 frontal heavy cannon, 1 light rear repeating cannon Armor: Double ribbed hull, Toughened Canvas and leather for ballons, concealed metal panel armor for hull Hanger: room for 4 small fighters, equipped with 2 one man fighters (deploys from in main body) Mechanism: main body suspended between two framed balloons, forward props for movement the airship in the drawing is the Khaos. the images on the balloons have long faded away and been recently redyed.the metal is unpolished and a tad rusty but secure. the bottom of the main body has been enlarged to house Fighter craft. the cannons are in the forward and stern, and the other cannons are atop and below the balloons The ship now has a many "clanks" ie steam punk robots that crew the ship and gunnery, however they can be replaced with people if someone wants the position. two have been assigned to the fighters, but they too can be replaced by pilots with better experience

Crew List: Crew PhotoI have created a Roster Thread, Please use that to post your bios! Gunner commander: Brigadier Elliot Lucian Vidal (played by Imber) Calls himself a Brigadier, but the validity of this title is highly dubious. Nevertheless, viewing him 'in action' as gunner commander, or, where needed, gunner, his deserving the title is undoubtable. Not much is known about his past, as he is reluctant to say, to such an extent that some fear that even he may not know. He is commonly charming, and yet always remains somewhat cold, no matter how pleasant his words, though it seems to means no ill. He has a metal mask covering half his face, just as explicable as his past, and is rarely seen outside without a parasol, for similarly unspecified reasons. galley mate/cook 2 George F. Burgess (played by That Guy 52) a tall, darker-skinned man (possibly of Indian descent), with flaming orange hair. He can normally be seen in an apron, spatula in hand, but when not attending to his cooking duties wears a loose-fitting jacket of brown leather, along with typical aviator boots and goggles. George seems imposing and quiet, but he's really very warm and friendly...once you get to know him. However, for a neo-victorian, George is..odd. His appearance and mannerisms are androgynous at best.
fighter pilot 1:

Sasha (played by Sasha_Yakushi)
Part Pilot, Part mechanic, Part janitor, Part bubble head. Not much is know about her past and even to her. Not an ace pilot but a pilot all the same she loves to maintain her equipment and clean the hanger. In her spare time she likes to tinker with tick tock creations and and steam boilers. fighter pilot 2: Clank
Tug Pilot: Clank
gunner 1(Forward):
Guardian Nysth Kalafailrre (played by Nysth Kalafailrre) Spending much of his time in his village in a small shack this shadow of a man has traveled further than thought possible and discovered steam engineering and is looking to learn, though his powers lie in psionics and weaponsry he can make short work of any foe or problem.
gunner 2(portside top): Clank
gunner 3(portside bottom): Clank
gunner 4(starside top): Clank
gunner 5(starside bottom): Clank
demolitions/gunner/chemist/mechanic:
Albrecht Wulfe (played by Rebel Wulfe)
engineer 1:

Tess C. Botrum AKA Talon (played by Lcatw) Specialty in repairing hulls, working with cables and wires, welding in hard to reach places, haggling and shes not to bad at fighting. She grew up in the mountains and is able to work at very high altitudes with high winds. she helped her dad operate a hot air balloon that would bring food and supplies to her village. she was a great climber and her job as her job was to climb on to the balloon itself and fix any rips. She left home for a "more interesting life". She has been traveling for 2 years. She spent some time as a air ship pirate but, keeps it a secret. She’s in love with old ornate items from around the world. She wears an ankh at all times.
Engineer 2

Archie "Ace" Marsh (played by Sereon)
Archie is a young man with great experience in engineering and is capable to fix and build not only ships but pretty much everything. Some call him a spark, but he denies by saying his only talented in what he does. Not many know about his background and he wants it that way, for now. He has a hard time trusting people and tends to not talk much around strangers. But once you get to know him and he you, he just as talkative as anyone else. He always has something in his mouth, mostly a straw or something of the sort.
Medic:
Doctor Abigail Tennant (played by Steamgeek) Abigail's "not that kind of doctor", much to the dismay of everyone she meets. She's got herself a fancy little PhD in archaeology but was sick and tired of people coming to her to heal them so she took to practicing medicine. Turns out she's pretty good at playing doctor after all.
Ship crew: 7 Clanks
Passenger list:

Emelia Gearwater. (played by DragonFlora)
A young woman around 20 years of age, Emelia has some experience about her. She is skilled at repairing a variety of mecha (but don't ask her to make anything, explosions, mayhem, and lots of swearing usually abounds), and as some people have come to realize she often prefers them to people. She is currently seeking passage to Cog Island, which is about 100 kilometers down the coast from Gambino, to deliver a large crate to her uncle. Emelia is very shy, often crippling her social experience; once a person gets around her defenses they usually find she is very sweet with an occasional snark when she's feeling particularly cheeky.

Captain Amaranth (played by himself) The admiral of the mighty guild ship the Anachronism.
 Zee (played by ` i n n u e n d o)
His name was simply Zee. Chances are, he doesn't like you. Born Zedock Reuben Thaddeus, Zee didn't run away from home. His home ran away from him. He woke up one morning, age 17, and it was gone. There might be more to the story, but Zee tends to keep his words short and his relationships shorter. Hiding behind brown shades and a constantly lit cigar, Zee flies the skies solo on his patchwork hot air balloon run completely on steam and will power. Years he spent alone, searching the clouds and stars for something even he has yet to come to understand. Then, one day, he came apon another flying air craft, just in time...
As always Stae stood by his side. Zee built the spider from old gears and boiling water. Beyond any explination, something odd happened. The moment Stae took his first steps, Zee felt a tug in his heart. Before Zee could smash the thing, they were sharing a soul. Zee would never admit it, but he loved Stae like he loved his own flesh and blood. When Stae hurt, Zee hurt, and vice versa. A loyal companion and friend, Stae has been with Zee ever since the disappearance of the boy's family.
 Lenore Donne
Lenore has no real reason for wanting to be traveling on the Khaos, except for.. well, merely wanting to travel. Again. Ever since she left her home 4 years ago, she’s been traveling for the most part; even after settling on the Anachronism, she still has the urge (usually quite suddenly) to go places and see new things. She has no practical skills (especially with mechanical items, much to her dismay), but is more than happy to help out with anything. Usually quite open around people, she is occasionally concerned about being seen as "proper" - a result of her upbringing, but it can make her come across as being stiff and reserved in some cases. Normally, however, she tries to be friendly, and is usually overly talkative; if asked, she will swear she‘s trying to be less so, and then will proceed to talk your ear off about whatever catches her eye. Sigh.
 "Finagle" Nishizaka
A young man with the devil's luck, he always seems to cause some kind of wreckage. Obviously, not much is known about his past but if one asks he'll tell you a little bit about himself. He's skilled at repairing things Airship related and tries his best to repair what ever he destroyed. He's currently searching for the "flying church" of the St. Eligius Cathedral, Airship Manufacture, Repair and Hanger to help him safeguard an odd orb hanging around his pet's neck
Mochi, Finagle's canine companion, is a robust pup that enjoys pork chops, scratches behind the ears, Penelope's muffins, adventure and tummy rubs.

Guidelines
-- I would like this to a literate as possible (but I make tons of typos too)
-- Steam punk is a must, but a tad bit of alchemy/magic/fantasy whatnot is allowed
-- Feel free to get descriptive when necessary. feel free to take over the direction of the action in your post. random bits and pieces from people will create a story nobody could see. It's fun!
-- please keep swearing down if possible, but if you must swear adhere to the Guild Rules, and keep the curses in era please. no bashing a person for their character. bashing will get you dropped off the side of the ship.... unless its in character to their character ^_^
-- Please format a few things like this: "speech" "thoughts" "Shouts" ( and '!' is all you need for emphasis but if its a yell you can bold)
-- Please indicate where you are at the start of your post. stating your location will help to stop the confusion on where one is.
Example: [bridge], [engine room], [galley], [deck] etc.
IF YOU WANT TO HAVE AN ACTUAL ROLE PLAY JOIN IN!!!!!!! I am on quite often and will stay constant on this. i have seen too many other threads stall for ever...

the ship can house up to four small fighter craft, unfortunately the two that are already aboard have been largely disassembled. On the bright side our hanger is well equipped and all the necessary parts are available, and a small forge that can be used to make other parts. Each pilot/mechanic can design their fighter as they choose (your imagination is the limit on your craft as long as the thing is small enough to fit in the hanger ^_^ think 1 - 2 man craft) hanger capacity:slot one: Myles' auto-gyro, Rocinante slot two: Pusher plane (being repaired) slot three:Balloon Tug (being repaired) slot four: Extra slot: Sasha's Vanship, Pic of the other two craft: Link for better res Sashas Vanship (someones 3D render not mine)

BEGIN STORY The Khaos was not hard to find. Amidst all the airships crowding the central ring airdock, the Khaos, while still proud and strong, had all the luster of a lump of coal. "Oh Great," Sighed Daniel as he approached, pink slip in hand. "This girl has seen better days."
the once majestic military medium cruiser was in a shocking state of repair. the balloons were so faded it looked like dirty canvas and the wood looked as if it had never been painted. Dan climbed aboard and did a quick tour. while the outside was shabby the innards were superb. "good teeth on this one, six cannon and 2 small fighters. better get things cleaned up, then i got to find a crew."
Dan begins dragging out crates and scrubbing the ship stem to stern. By the end of the week the ship looked a whole lot better. "just needs some new paint!" Dan said as he checked his wallet. "rats, all my winnings for that game with the old Captain are gone from getting this gal in order. my savings aren't going to get me far...."

At the front of the dock, a young woman stands, goggles around her neck, inspecting the airship in front of her with a critical gaze. She takes a moment to glance at the piece of paper in one hand, and then back to the numbered post at the edge of the platform. It was the right dock all right. Her other hand pulls the sledgehammer away from its resting place over her shoulder, and plunks the head of it down against the wooden boards with a satisfying thump. She leans against it, eyeing the worn fabric stretched over the outer frame and the rust on the forward propellers.

Emerging form below deck, Daniel hops over the rail to the deck with a heavy thud. lifting a large crate up to his shoulder, he notices the young woman with the large hammer staring critically at his vessel.
He smiles, "i know she doesn't look like much, but shes a fixer-upper." as he hefts the crate to a more comfortable position some of the bandages wrapped around his arms come loose, revealing some sort of clockwork. plopping down the crate, he hastily fixes the wraps. "was there anyway i can assist you miss?"

The young woman tilts her battered top hat back a bit to get a better look at the man in front of her. Her critical gaze moves over him once in one sweeping glance, before moving back up to boldly meet his gaze. When she speaks, her accent betrays her common background. "I 'eard this dock were 'irin'. Are yer the cap'ain, then?"

"I am now, I guess." Daniel replies. "I won the Khaos from her old Capt in a card game. He decided to move on to greener pastures." eying the large hammer resting beside the woman, he asks, "What kind of work were you looking for? I'm afraid i cant pay much, but there is plenty of room aboard."

Her eyebrows raise, and a small grin appears. "Yer won an airship in a card game, isit? Yer must 'ave 'ad a brilliant 'and."
Wiping her hands on her worn but clean skirt, she offers him her hand to shake. "I'm a mechanist by trade, repairin' and opera'in', mostly, but I know a bit of me'alsmifing and can make me own parts in a pinch." The woman nods toward the big ship behind him. "I've worked wiv big ones like that before. Wotcher fill 'er wiv? Helium?"

Daniel steps closer and returns the handshake. slight hisses can be heard as he moves his arms. "That was a tough game alright, took nearly four hours to finish with a whammy of a flush. as for the Khaos here," Daniel says jerking a thumb at the craft behind him, "shes got plenty of parts in storage and her engine is in good condition but could really use a tune up. I would greatly welcome your skills, and get this, shes even got a small forge!"
"The balloons are made up of individual gas cells inside the frame. Some are helium and the rest is some other gas i cant identify, but seem just as light if not lighter than the helium. It's not hydrogen, that I'm sure of. Guess the separate balloons are good in case she gets into a scrape"

A young woman steps up. Her dress appears to mark her as of the middle class, not wealthy but not poor either.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but could either of you direct me to the proprietor of this vessel?"
She'd been watching for days, and knew perfectly well who Daniel was, but one must play the role to the hilt.

To the woman with the hammer he offers "feel free to poke around if you'd like, take any cabin you wish, but be warned its still rather cluttered with all kinds of stuff. this place is so filled with junk we could open a shop for it all"
Back at the new girl, " "That would be me Ma'am." Says Daniel with a smile. "I won it from Capt. Grey. Is there anything i can help you with?" The wings attached at his shoulders fold in with small hisses of steam as he turns.
