My band director is awesome. For the first time EVERY in our school's history a flute player was allowed to play their flute in the jazz band......sadly one flute player vs many tbones and many saxs is a sad thing.
*sigh* oh well. list everyone heard me.
so tell me what you think about flute players playing in a jazz band be honest. (just curious cause i'd never really heard of a flute being a main instrument before.)

We have 4/5 flutes. Most of them are there waiting for a position to open up in the sax line but while they're in the flute section they do get heard and they have got solos.

We like...always have at least one flute in all four Jazz bands at the complex (both middle school and both high school bands), and sometimes two. This year's the first in a while there's not been one in the high school's A Band. =O
When played well and heard the flute is super special awesome in Jazz. They add extra color to a lot of different charts, too.

I'm gonna try to do Jazz Band. I'm gonna play my Flute. I am very happy because Mr.Hanna said "You can play Trombone for band and Flute for Jazz Band." So I'm VERY happy because I still want to keep my Flute but I want to play the Trombone. So it will possibly work out! :3
