Adour coughted, her lilac eyes watering. The smoke was so thick and burned her eyes. W.w.w.here was her momma?! Where was her Uncles?! Everywhere she looked there was thick smoke. She hadn't meant to wander away from her mother last night somehow she ended up in the path of a fire.
Off to the side she saw a dark outline, escape!! She bolted towards the cave knowing only she had to escape the fire. Exhaustion swamped her even as the cool darkness enveloped her overheated little body. Her head swayed weakly as she collapsed, her lilac eyes struggling to stay open.

Deep in the cool dark of the earth, a great figure moved. Silver markings, once dormant in sleep, flared to paint the stone walls with their cold light. Barely seconds later silver eyes flared open, then narrowed, a cold smile cutting through the dark. Something was comming... Aveshar gave a rumble of eager bloodlust, striding from his sleeping chamber and upward through the caves and walkways. He could smell it know, the sinuous scent of fear... The choking haze of smoke far above... The woods were on fire, and whatever had tumbled into his realm did not know that death was as sure down here as it was in the thick of hungry flames. A soft whisper sounded ahead. Aveshar narrowed his eyes, focusing on the predominantly golden and white figure that lay apparently unconcious on the floor of his cave. She was a dainty thing... But had the wings and tail of a Kalona. A half-breed? She seemed so pure... Too pure to he a full-blooded Kalona. And while Nightshade prefered to eat halflings, Aveshar always thought it best to talk to them first. After all, if they were on the 'Kalona's' side of the argument, they couldn't be all that bad... And it was hardly rewarding to eat someone unconcious, they couldn't scream that way. With a sigh he paced over to the small spring and the pool it bubbled up into, dipping his tail into the water and flinging it over the filly. "Wake up, wake up, lost little lamb..." He crooned darkly.

Her little head swayed as she snorted coming too, "Momma?" A fit of painful coughing curled her little body into a miserable ball, her tail beating the ground as her wings flapped, fighting to breath though smoke damanaged lungs.
When the fit ended she was limp and exhausted. That really really hurt and tore a faint whimper from her abused throat. She wanted her momma to make it all better. She blinked looking about blurrily before her lilac eyes widened seeing Aveshar. He had wings like hers!!
Struggling to her feet, Adour stumbled faintly but blinked at him, her tail lashing. "Who are you? Where am I? Where is my momma?! If you hurt her..." she tried to growl but ended up coughing again weakily.

Aveshar arched a brow and continued to rain water on the filly until he was sure she was waking. The pitiful 'momma' that rang out of her smoke-racked throat bounced around the cave, the walls echoing her lost tones, her weakness. He growled softly, the sound beautifully appetizing. What a treat you are, Lost Little Lamb... He saw her eyes fix on him, saw his wings, her eyes widening with understanding. She recognized the pieces of himself in her... The shattered fragments her parentage had stitched together to create her stood in the darkness in their purest form. Aveshar smirked, flaringh is wings and taking a step toward her. She was a fiesty little thing, but being part Kalona, he wouldn't have expected any less. "I am called Aveshar, Lost Little Lamb, and it was you who tumbled into my home... I do not know your dam, I have not harmed her... Yet." He growled, pinning his ears. "What is your name?"

Adour bared her teeth back at him faintly despite her fear, after all...no one threatened her momma! "I am -not- a lamb." Her long thin tail lashed the air behind her like a furious cat. She might be terrorfied of this large, dark stallion but she had to protect momma. " I am called Adour."
She tossed her head to give him a haughty stare as if daring the big stallion to attack her. In reality there was nothing she could do if he did, but from the look of her someone forgot to tell her that.

Aveshar laughed and stalked a few paces foward, the heavy cruch-hiss of his hooves on gravel rumbling, a counternote to his musical mirth. For all that he was evil, he was the son of a Song... And music was in his very veins. "No?" He mocked, lowering his head and grinning widely at her. "You look like one.. Small, white, short-tailed, practically helpless." He snapped his teeth at her. "Adour? And what is the name of this 'momma' of your's? Doesn't she know better than to let her foal wander around, or tumble into Kalona's dwelling places? You could be my snack in a moment, and she'd never know what happened to you."

"I am not going to tell you her name." She narrowed her violet little eyes at his grin. How dare he mock her!!And her tail was -not- short. She bared her teeth back at him as if daring him to try and take a bite outta her, she would bite him back.
When his huge teeth snapped she squealed, though the sound was of pure rage rather than fear. Just who did he think he was?! She snapped her teeth in return, her little wings flairing as her tail lashed the air behind her. "You may eat me mister but I will make you hurt before you can get me down." Her voice had turned cold and calculating. Yes he was bigger and could easily kill her, but she would put up one hell of a fight and might even be able to hurt him in return.

"I'll find her one way or another... It won't be too hard to flutter around and see who's looking for a lost little filly named Adour..." He shrugged and snorted dismissively. "A half-Kalona with the tail of a unicorn.... Your dam the unicorn? I doubt she's a Kalona." He snorted again, shaking his head, and almost chuckled when she snapped her little teeth at him. Oh she was almost precious, even in his black book. "I do not doubt you would fight as well as you are able, seeing as you are quite assuredly part-Kalona.... But I doubt you'd do much damage to me... So pipe down and answer some of my questions, and you might live to fall in my home another day."

" My momma is not a unicorn but she doesn't have wings like me either." She actually looked confused for a moment then snorted and eyed him supiciously again. "She is just momma." She was still rather young to understand the idea of a foster mother to her, it was just momma.

Aveshar snapped his teeth again. "A groundwalker then..." That... Was almost worse than a unicorn... At least a unicorn had some measure of natural defense... Groundwalkers? You just better hope you could run fast. "How did you come to find your momma? You have a Kawani handler too?"

Her lavander eyes flared as she narrowed them on him. " Momma found my basket and kept me. She has protected me from everyone." Others had hated the little filly on sight for her heritage and sought to harm her, only to come face to face with a furious blue, black and silver mare.
Adour's voice softened as she told the story, " There was this one big stallion, almost bigger than you. He wanted to hurt me but she wouldn't let him. You should have seen her she half killed him 'for he ran for it. She taught me how to fly after that so next time I could get away, then she made our wolf Nene teach me how to hunt and fight."
It might give him pause to think a groundmare, who had no reason to protect much less obviously love a kalona foal do all that. Why teach her to fly, why teach her to hunt and be more lethal? A mare, smaller by nature than a stallion, could have died under the angry male's hooves yet she fought with an insane fury for 'her' foal. Obviously this was not a normal mare.

Aveshar shook his head as he paced a circle around the filly, ears flicking back and forth as he pondered all the information. A ground mare raising a Kalona halfling was unusual on its own... But teaching her to fly? And having a wolf teach her how to hunt and fight. It was beyond unusual, peculiar... Ridiculous... "She has protected you from everyone, so far..." He rumbled darkly, turning a silver eye back to her, his smile slightly wicked.

The stubborn little filly tossed her head proudly and met his gaze, her own purple eyes hard. He was scary but she refused to cower before him. "She loves me and I love her. She is my momma. "
As he circled her she kepted turning to keep him in her sights, her little wings fidgiting as her tail lashed. She was small and young, but she was a predator and not about to give him her back. Not scared, but definatly wary around the larger predator.

"I suppose that is enough to make her your mother..." He rumbled with a nod. She was brave, and smart. It would have been foolish for her to let him move to her back, where she could not see him. Not that it mattered if she watched while he attacked her... She was much smaller than he, and even if she saw the lunge, it would be hard for her to avoid injury. "What else of your family, Little Lamb? Surely more than just that groundwalker... Who knows where you are? Who is suppossed to be watching you right now?"

Her lavader eyes hardened to stone as she faced him. " They don't matter, only mother did...and the fire took her." Hurt tore through her for a moment make her breath catch but she quickly shook it off before looking at him again.
"I don't need anyone. I can take care of myself." Baring her sharp little teeth at him, she stood up straighter, her wings flaring. "I can hunt for myself and...and..."It was clear she was hurting for her mother but she wasn't about to show that hurt to the predator before her.
Suddenly the excitement of the day was too much for the little filly, and her eyelashes fluttered before she slumped before him in a dead faint, her young life forever changed, even though she didn't know it.
