I'm having a terrible time finding a nice light sunscreen moisturizer for my face and hands. I have those transition eyeglasses, and those along with a brown spot on my nose (from a bad sunburn) are a constant reminder of the UVB rays.

I'm not a mole person by any aspect - and I am a lover of the sun, and all it's benefits. (I actually just learned that there are many deaths due to the lack of sun made vitamin D o.0)

Does anyone have brands or suggestions on a light sunscreen to protect my face and hands?

I use a lot of Burts Bees, since its all organic..but also it smells wonderful x3

The sunscreen by Burts Bees

As for after sun care, when you get dry, i use the Aloe and Linden Flower after sun care cream.

If you've not used Burts Bees before, i reccomend buying a sampler with 5 or 6 products for about $6 from a Rite Aid, CVS, Wal-mart or Borders Books store :3

IF anyone knows, I've been trying to find a natural recipe for sunscreen or just information on traditional ways to avoid sun damage other than layers of clothing.

Here's a very good page on the toxicity levels of sunscreens and their effectiveness. there's a good chart at the bottom that lists good brands of sunscreen to purchase.

I love Burts Bees whee I've keep finding new products - I've never seen the sunscreen. I'm going to Whole Foods on the weekend, so I'll take a look there.

I find that my skin gets really greasy and very prone to little breakouts when I'm in the sun. Maybe it's my old age, but I hate seeing my skin texture change, so any help having it not do that is always appreciated. >_<

I checked out the sunscreen that I had - this "No Ad" brand and it's a seven on that website. >_<

Went to Whole Foods and there were plenty to choose from - unfortunately a bit more then I wanted to spend. I ended up getting a spray bottle with SPF 10 from Saving Face. Works okay (I guess) and doesn't feel greasy.

For a nice, natural and pure moisturizer, all you need is Lanolin. Simple as that. I buy organic lanolin at my local health food store.
For sunscreen, buy just plain zinc oxide. I bought mine at a pharmacy but you might be able to find it at a local health store. Zinc oxide is an active ingredient in sunblock.
Try mixing lanolin and zinc oxide together for a sunscreen for a pleasant combination of a moisturizer and SPF. Add any essential oil of your choice if you please. The less and more natural ingredients the better. 3nodding

Also, when it comes to sunscreen or any beauty product in general, make sure it doesn't have any laurel and/or laureth sulfates, parabens, artificial colors or preservatives, or synthetic ingredients. These types of ingredients are proven to be possibly carcinogenic (cancerous) and cause other types of various problems such as hormone deficiency. Just thought I'd point that out in case someone doesn't happen to know.... just be be safe.
