With a final flex of silver-ribbed wings, Aveshar altered his course into a slow, looping spiral, circling towards the ground. The river below wound a lazy ribbon through the landscape, beconing him. Being a dark coated stallion, flying so long during the day had heated his hide most unpleasantly. It was with great pleasure he stepped into the cool water, lowering his head for a drink. Pawing at the shallows with his cloven hooves, he whipped his tail, the silver and black streamers of his mane floating around him in the water. "What to do now..." He mused to himself, eyeing the lands.

Auster made his way down the river, along side the riverbank, wading through the shallow water there. His long mane and tail swirled in the water, but he paid it no attention. It had been a fairly warm day and the cool water felt nice.
Heaving a sigh, the stallion trudged further along. That is, until he saw the Kalona stallion. Raising an eyebrow, he eyed him.

Aveshar jerked his head up as the sound of another in the river. The stallion approaching was much like him, dark coated and winged... But was definately not a Kalona... Angeni? It appeared so. But at least he wasn't an annoying groundwalker or a half-breed. Not someone worth attacking and eating, either way you looked at it... With a flick of one wing and a snap of his tail, he turned in the water until he was squarely facing the newcommer, then faintly bowed his head. "Greetings." The Kalona rumbled, pinning an ear, and then flicking it toward the stranger again. "Fellow Son of the Dark."

With a shake of his mane, Auster tilted his head at him, taking in the larger male. Hm. He had been keeping to himself as of late and couldn't remember if he had ever met a Kalona before. This could prove to be interesting.
He dipped his head in greeting as well. At least this stallion had manners and some sort of pride. He hated horses that automatically assumed they had the right to speak to you. "Greetings to you as well, Kalona."

He watched the stallion with interest, shifting his balance from hoof to hoof in the shallows. In need be, he could fight here, and readily, but he doubted it would come to that. This Angeni was hardly foolish. At the other's words Aveshar bared his fangs in a grin that was hardly pleasant, but severly amused. "Aveshar." He supplied with a flick of his tail. "I am called Aveshar, and you?" He tilted his head slightly.

Auster watched him, his eyes narrowed slightly. He knew the reputation of kalonas well and while it didn't seem like the other was ready to attack him, he wasn't about to let his guard down.
Aveshar. It was an interesting name, but fitting of the Kalona. He nodded his head. "I am called Auster, Aveshar."

"Well met, Auster." He rumbled, bobbing his head faintly. "Please, do not let me keep you if you wish to be elsewhere..." He took a step backward, so if the Angeni wished, he could pass. "Though, I would not mind the company if you had the time to spare me. Being new to this land, I am afraid I know hardly anyone at all..."

Auster watched Aveshar move to let him pass, his ear flicking at the invitation. The angeni wasn't used to company. Shifting his weight slightly, he nodded.
"I have no plans," he said vaguely, meaning that he would not overly mind to stay and chat with the Kalona or whatever it was he had in mind.

"Fortune smiles... As does Fate." Aveshar smirked, flaring his wings, and then folding them to his back. He considered the other, noting several characteristics that reminded him of himself. "What brings you to these Lands?" The question slipped out before he really thought about it. Rarely he cared, but this stallion, this Auster, was quite intriguing, for better or worse... The Kalona grinned.

Auster studied Aveshar for a long moment, his ample tail swishing. What brought him here? If only he knew. "I have been here as long as I can remember," he said, his voice low when he finally spoke, "and perhaps even before that. What reasons I had for coming have long since been lost. Why are you here, if I my ask?"

Aveshar smiled, a flash of teeth and cunning. "I was birthed here... To a family that hardly suited me, so quite young I left to find my own world... It gets boring if one does not take entertainment along, and some mares are so much harder to scare than others... I return out of curiousity, I'm afraid... Perhaps if Fate is kind to her Dark Child, I will see my mother again... I do wonder what the poor old mare will think of me." He shook his head and shrugged, flicking his tail in dismissal. "In truth, I have no real reason to be here.. I wander... And for now that which intrigues me is plentiful in these parts, so I stay... When I grow bored I move on..."

He nodded at that. "I have ties here," he said, adding I think in his head. "I enjoy where I live and have no desire to leave. Perhaps someday I will, but not now." Truth was, Auster had no idea why he stayed. Perhaps he was too set in his own ways. He was an angeni after all, and old to the world. He had lived in his forest for many many years. To leave now would be almost unfathomable.
