Lets face it. This guild is going down. No one wants this but it cant be help if things are just not interesting. However, I have an idea. How about a group project to get our members more involved and gain us some popularity on the net. If we can produce a few good games then our popularity will go through the roof. The first game is [Guild Game Title].
I was originaly going to o this project on my own but...to be honest, I dont have the skill to alone pull this off to its full potential. Im only one person. I things go well, a really great RPG can be created. Just need some Manpower (wait...that sounds sexist. I mean people power i guess).
Here are the positions that need to be filled
Producer 1: Linis Light Producer 2: Producer 3:
Story 1: Linis Light Story 2:
Event cordiantor:
Battle System Cordinator:
Battle Animation creator 1: Battle Animation creator 2:
Character Designer 1: Linis Light Character Designer 2:
Battle System Graphics:
Music composer 1: Music Composer 2:
Now, this isnt My Project. Its ours With that being said, if no one but me is working on this. this project dies. Everyone has a say here and the above list isnt limiting who or how many people can join the team. Everyone has fair general power. I put producers because there should be some people who have slightly more power than everyone else to coordinte things and keep everyone going. the above list specifies what jobs will probaly be needed to creat a original game.
so yeah, everyone! Give your Ideas! what system we should use (I recomend rmxp)
what battle system
what style of sprites
the story (I have a idea but I want to hear others and their opinions first)
and anything else I might have missed.
Do have fun. For now.

I honestly can not think of a way to say this without coming off as an a**, so I'll start by telling you that that is not my intention. But if we're going to do a guild project, I'd rather we do it a more democratic way. You know, a thread for idea submissions followed by a round of voting.

yeah... that is very true. I was just trying to make a outline to what would probaly be needed. Those positions are thing that would genreral be needed for any. I put my self in those positions because I know for sure that I would not back out of the project. If everything else fails,I' just try to continue on with development.
and you didnt sould like a a**. that was a good point.

If you're serious about making this a project, you should include a bit more information. I'm guessing you already have the basic plot worked out, and which system are you planning on making this on? It would also be helpful to include something like "Help Needed" or "Positions Available" in the title of the thread, it might generate more interest in it.
As for the part about the guild going down and such, I'm choosing not to say anything about this for the time being. sweatdrop

A another position may be Map Designer. There may be more than one though, as some people are better at certain types (i.e. Towns, Indoors, Dungeons) of maps than others.
And though while I think that the comment about the guild going down is a bit presumptuous(EDIT: Yes, I see that was fixed>_<), (though the guild system is kinda broken from the start, as people can't subscribe to topics in them, and most people are too lazy to come and check occasionally anyways. Don't tell me it's not true), he also makes a good point.
If we were to make a game in the guild's name (not meaning we name the game RPG Maker Guild, but say the game is by the guild, i.e "this game is by the RPG Maker Guild of Gaia Online"), and it's even only moderately good, it would be a good reason for people to come because they see that we clearly have at least some talent. And it wouldn't even have to be some grand, epic, 99hour+ gameplay time Final Fantasy-a-thon. If it were just a 5 hour journey with a decent story (like the sample game on the XP website) and a few unique systems (not neccessarily in script), that would be good too.
I rarely see a message board, or a website, for this kind of stuff be very successful (which is not to say that people don't use them, they just don't use them much, and/or there's only a handful of regular and active members) unless it has something to offer. Heck, if we got more tutorials and spread that fact around we'd probably get some more members.

lol. You didn't need to strike out those parts that I didn't like, but it's alright.
As for the guild system, honestly, I hate it. There are so many things that could be better, but they're too busy coming up with ideas to make money that they're neglecting the things that don't make them money, especially the guilds which haven't been updated in years.
Anyways, I do think this is a good idea if we can get the people, and if they actually continue to work on it actively. I know there was supposed to be a guild project here before, but that fell through...but I didn't really plan on mentioning it again until we had more active members. (Not just 2 or 3 people..lol).

akinternetdramon, would you like to be a producer?
Very true. The Rmxp game your talking about is called Knigth Blade" I think. It is a mech game and so is one of the story's that we can use that I thought up. (wasnt that a great transition?)
I got the Idea from listening to a King Geedorah Album
The story takes place in a futuristic earth going though a major war. the main character is a soldier who comes from the slumy part of the city (what city? IDK.)
He turns his back on his friends and family and lives only for himself and the military.
One day, he is called by scientist friend of his. the sientist makes him listen to a weird sound then tells him its from a alien on a planet called Planet X.
after a few war based battles and missions, the scientist calls you again nut this time with a military genral is with him. He tells you too look at two picture of astroids. He then tells you that those two astroids are [insert cool name here] or space monsters thatwere snet from Planet X to wipe out the human race. you are given a mission to fly out with a small unit and combat the monsters. The monsters kill your comrades and you bearly make it back to earth alive. He give you a secret mission to pilot your craft. after you crash land you look up and see the two monsters entering the atmosphere andthen something happens. End credits.
yeah it was fairly vauge but my brain is running dry.

If we can get things going with just you, akinternetdramon and I maybe more flys will be drawn to the fire. (figurativly speaking ofcourse ^_^)

I know there was supposed to be a guild project here before, but that fell through...but I didn't really plan on mentioning it again until we had more active members. (Not just 2 or 3 people..lol). Well, yeah, obviously we'd need more people. xd But that's where starting to contribute more comes in. The more resources (wether they be tutorial, or image resources) we have to offer, the more people will come, and the more active members we get. If we don't put anything into the guild, other than threads for our projects, then we're unlikely to get more people. Which would also mean less publicity for our games. So, in reality, it's in everyone's best interest to contribute something. Linis Light: No, sorry, I can't be a producer. That's really not my forte. xd I can fill a Map maker/Designer (whatever you want to call it) position however. And possibly an eventer, but I'll have to get back to you on that one. It depends on how busy I get with other stuff. ninja

As for tutorials, scripts..etc. I know of someone who has a lot of amazing scripts, I'm trying to get a hold of him to see if he would mind me putting his scripts here, or at least links to them.

Once again, faced with the dreaded group project.
First, the presentation needs some work. Put your leonidus cape on for this one, it takes a LOT more motivation to get these things off the ground. Not to mention keeping them running.
First, recomendations. You should probably give a better explanation of the jobs at hand, and how they affect the game as a whole. Whether we take turns passing the game through to other members of the production team, with the suplementaries (composers, artists, etc) work on their material. Or we work on different segments of the story with each producer. That should be noted aswell.
First, producer. Whats the job? Management? Actual maker work?
Battle system coordinator. Again, the job? I sorta' assume its putting together a working battle system. Whether from scratch, or from another means. (i personally prefer the KGC, partly because i laready have it fully set up xD)
Battle animation creator. This one is a doozy. Creating animation graphics? Or creating animations FROM graphics? I'm not exactly interested in doing either, even though it is fun to create new animation graphics. But this sort of thing needs to be emphasized.
Coordination is a problem here aswell. Things need to be clear, precise, quick, and to the point. Hook a maker, and reel him in so to speak.
Now. As for the idea itself. I honestly think this needs a TON more coordination. Perhaps even through MSN conferenceing.
I'd go for VX for ease. But XP for its looks.
As for the name. I'd say get a team, make suggestions, and vote for a TEAM name.
Erm, sorry for the nitpicking. Its sort of a habit of mine, comes with my territory.
I would be interested in helping this thing along, but only if things work out a certain way. Also, a quickee. Go for a short game. Or many short game for that matter. maybe even 2 hour long ones. Think ICO not FF10 ~_^

Actually, it sounded more like constructive criticism than nitpicking. 3nodding All those things are definately going to have to be addressed first. Though I already pointed out that it should just be a short game. But as he stated, this is pretty much just an outline of what will be needed. I'm sure that when the time comes, there will be a better battle plan, so to speak. ninja

Fist things first: this should be a totally open project. Developpers and writers feel bad sharing the little secrets and surprises of their work, but if you don't want this to become a battlefield, please kill all surprises. And I can help with the story whenever you ask me to.

Good ideas, Raining-Apples. If/when we do an actual guild project, everyone will need to know exactly what they're supposed to be doing, so we'll have to work on descriptions for each of the positions. Also, we need to make sure that the people are actually capable of doing what the position implies, and I don't mean they have to be perfect, I just mean it would be nice if they were somewhat good at what they're doing. lol
I'm sure I'll think of more to say on this subject, I'm just half asleep at the moment..
