Gemma lounged on the wall, her feet dangling over the fifty foot droop on the other side. Her dark brown hair, gently curled from the middle on, hung loose to her waist. The light breeze played with the ends, sending strays into her face that she let fly as they would. She rested her hands on her lap, folded over a navy blue bag embroidered with silver-white stars. Inside rested a sliver flute, wrapped in blue silk. The wall was five feet high, and looked out to the orchards and the grazing lands beyond. The girl was only five four and had to climb to get to her perch, difficult in her skirts but achievable. She stared out at the orchards, just now in bloom, as people continued on their merry ways paying no more attention than a few wayward glances. She was searching for a friendly face in the crowd of people surgeing into the city for the three day festival. She had been roused that morning with a message that simply told her to come to the wall and wait for one of her friends, and wait she had for nearly an hour. Told you I didn't know how to start. xp I added on so yeah.

Glancing around she noticed the crowd containing that familiar face. A girl with short black hair was attempting to push her way through it. Another person cut her off and she looked like in moment she'd burst into flames. She was griting her teeth and digging her fingers into a trench coat. Another attempt to push through and she ended up pushed to the floor. She closed her eyes and that's when Gemma knew she needed to get down there; before something bad happened.

Gemma had a good view of the crowd and jumped down off the wall when she spotted the black haired girl on the ground and not in a very good mood. Rushing over and shouldering a few people out of the way she extened her hand to the girl and pulled her up. "You ok?" Some one brushed against her and she linked arms with the girl and pulled her over to the wall, where they could at least have more room from the crowd. She looked at the girl wandering exactly why she had been told to wait here."Why exactly did you want to meet me here?"

O.o(( I could've put yuri in here but I don't know it you'd like that...)) "Well, I- uh, I don't remember... I got so frustrated back there I lost my train of thought." A slight flush filled her face, "I'm sorry." She put her hand on her forehead, trying to remember. "Well let's just go somewhere untill I remember. okay?"

((Do what ever you want.)) Gemma smiled, "Sure. I could use a reason to get away from the boys. And all this mess." She motioned to the crowd, most were hauling goods they would sell in the up coming festivle. "Let's go down to the orchards. It'll be less crowded down there." Gemma linked her arm with the girl and pulled her down the path to the land below. The crowd thinned greatly but she kept walking untill they came to a spot unoccupied and under a row of pink blooming peach trees.

((If you're sure... I'll probley end up slipping some in later)) Kazumi let out a long sigh. "Why this every year? The large RUDE crowds! I can't take it anymore! One more year of this and I'm through.." She leaned against a tree, slowly slumping untill she was sitting. Her head was in her hands, frustrated with herself for hating crowds.

"What do you mean?" She sat by Kazumi and pulled a strand of grass, playing with it and picking another when it broke. She watched people walk up the path to the city, slightly worried about what Kazumi ment.

Kazumi glanced up at her for a second before turning to face her hands again. "I'll leave... Leave the city, find a place where there's peace and quiet. This is just too much for me. That's what I wanted to tell you... I was thinking about going today but I forced myself to wait another year." She didn't move her head from her arms. Seeing Gemma most likely expression would kill her right now.

Gemma couldn't beleive what she heard. "You can't, Kazumi. What am I going to do if you leave? Sit around and be bored forever?" She looked over at her friend and placed a hand gently on her shoulder. "Is it that bad?"

"Yeah... Every year the crowds get larger and ruder. Two years ago they started their 'parties' and those were even rowdier last year. Who knows how bad it will get. I just want to get away and live without fear in my mind. My house is on a main street, everynight I'm afraid I'll wake up to my home ablaze. I know you can't posibley understand what that's like with your house in a more succluded area but it's one of the worst feeling I've ever felt." She had the picture in her head of all the things that could happen to her house on those nights. The thoughts sent a chill through her spine. ((Oh yeah. You can also make small details on the other persons character. Like how I said you lived in a more succluded area. But it can be bigger like if I wouldn't have just put those details in you could've said something like I had moved in just a few years ago from a smaller town! If you don't mind that of course!))

"Why don't you come stay with me till it's over? I could talk the boys into watching your house." By living a few streets back from the main street, she didn't have to deal with the constant crowds. Gemma had lived here for longer than Kazumi, and therefore was more adjusted to the noise. "You know that probably won't happpen. The city guards watch the crowd pretty good and take care with the homes on main street. Besides this will all die down in a week." ((I don't have a problem with that. I just have to get used to it smile ))

Kazumi shook her head. "Probably. That's the problem. I'd feel uneasy at your house. Still knowing that my house is alone and prone to what might happen. I know the guards are good; but are they good enough? I just want to live without all that worry in my mind."

Gemma sighed she realy didn't get this. "Ok so I can come stay with you. Would that help?" She had never thought of leaving the city. She had grown up in a city and spent many years in this one. With the orchards outside of the city walls she loved the place more than any other city. "It's no so bad. If anything, I'll come over and sit up with you all night just to prove that the guards are good enough."

Kazumi finaly pulled her face out of her arms; looking Gemma in the eyes. "Are you sure? It gets really loud. You won't be able to sleep well and I know you love to enjoy yourself at the festival." ((I know it's rather crappy! xp ))

Gemma smiled, "I'm sure, besides your house would be the perfect place to scout out cute guys." Her smile switched to a wide grin and her eyes sparkled. She did love the festival and all the different people it brought to the city. "We could both use a cute guy or two to keep us company."
