 Helushka was busy gathering crustaceans to trade at the market.He had been doing this ever since he could remember.The fun of searching for the shelled creatures was always entertaining. Sometimes he would end up fighting for a spot with another Merdrac. Those were the days. Crustaceans were much easier to gather than fish. Though he had seen large nets set up to catch them he enjoyed the adventure more than just floating around all day chasing schools of fish.
Being fond of some of the inland food he would do just about anything for it though. Some nice rabbit, cow or cat. He LOVED the cats. Trading with the ground walkers was his best chance on obtaining the food he grew to love.
He had his body net about half full when the net hooked on the jagged coral he swam too close to. While attempting to untangle it he ended up dumping his whole days work on the sea floor while also tearing the net. "Noo Noo No! Gahhhhh why me?!" He grumbled. Acting as fast as he could he began swimming after his lost food and snatching up what he can fit in to his torn net. "This is not my day...."

 Akiana was gracefully swimming through the crystal blue waters, as she had always done time in and time out. She sighed as all the beautifully colored fish swam past, wondering if things would be different if.... she pauses for a moment.... almost lost in thought... but then something sparkley catches her eye, its down in a deep crevasse. With curiosity eating at her, she wonders if she should retrieve it.. it is a little dark, and deep, then all of a sudden, she is then reverted back to the memory she had just encountered...
"Now Akiana" Said her father... "You are our first born, and with that comes responsibility! "What does being first born have to do with being responsible!? Its not like im the first of two!" Snapped Akiana.
"Akiana!" her mother said gently "You know better then to talk to your father that way"
"Im sorry" Said her father "But I have no choice but to ban you from going to far from the home".....
Akiana is suddenly brought back out of her memory lapse as the mysterious shiny object catches her attention again. She turns to look behind her, knowing she has already disobeyed her father being out this far... "Im tired of living in their shadows" Akiana says, as she slowly begins to swim down into the deep unknown........

Helushka slowly sulked back towards his home. He was very disappointed that he could not fit half as much back in his net as he could have before he tore it. "Stupid net...i should invest in a stronger woven one...." He looked down at it and touched it with his paw.
His ground walker Pan had given it to him while he was a hatchling.It was big for him then but he quickly grew into it. She would watch him as he would scavenge for the small hard shelled critters. He would bring them back to her all in smiles and she would give him some cut up land creature in return. To throw away his net would be hard...he never seen much of Pan these days since she decided to venture deep inland. Maybe he could find someone to fix it.
