I'm wondering if many people play more than one instrument. I do! I play 5:
1: Flute (1st chair in Concert band) 2: Tenor Saxophone (2nd chair in Jazz Band) 3: Acoustic Guitar (Self-taught for fun) 4: Piccolo (My BD lets me play it occationally) 5: Piano (Self-taught for fun)
Different kinds of instrument DO count like: tenor sax, bari sax, alto sax; electric guitar, bass guitar; and so on.
Percussion counts as ONE instrument (bells, snare, bass drum, and so on counts as ONE)

I actually played one at the begining of the year, but I was a dedicated band nerd, and learned many.

I don't really have a chance to learn any brass instruments because I'm the only one in my family that can play an instrument, also, our band director wants us to stay with our section (woodwinds, brass, perc.) to learn new instruments. I'm still in Jr. High, so I might learn more in High School. (Note: We have more than 200 kids in our high school MARCHING band. There are probably more in the concert band)

Piano, guitar, saxophone, mallet percussion, ukulele, and a little bit of mandolin. Who knows, maybe I'll end up playing some obscure instrument and get somewhere with it.
