The night was still young but already Mittrei was bored. That was a bad sign. Usually the boredom didn't kick in until at least halfway through. She yawned widely and began to walk down one of the nearly hidden forest paths that she frequented. It had been a while since she had encountered anyone truly amusing in her nighttime jaunts. Many of them took one look at the eyespots on her wings and ran off, assuming her to be a monster. Some of the others were too sleepy to even do that much.
If this was the sort of entertainment she could find, perhaps it was time for her to find somewhere else to live. A small thing like her could easily slip into other soquili's territories unnoticed, not that she ever minded being found. Mittrei had no problem asserting her right to be somewhere. She had no problem kicking someone out of a prime area, either. The only problem she really had was with boredom. Her red eyes spied through the night's darkness. Maybe out there some fun was to be found.

A soft voice from above her called down, "My, what big eyes you have..."
Jame had been watching from a tree, perched carefully on a thick branch. He'd watched the mare wander closer, curious about her...but all the same waiting to catch her off guard. One had to do what one must for entertainment in the late nights.

The unexpected voice from an unexpected location startled Mittrei. She couldn't repress a small jump and her wings flared out while her head snapped around looking for the source of the sound. When she found it, another flutter up in a tree, a flash of internal irritation went through her. The nerve!
She narrowed her eyes but had put an impish smile on her face an instant after. He had surprised her but she wouldn't stay surprised and certainly wouldn't admit to it. "And what big teeth I have too. Isn't that the next line to the story? Except, in the teeth department, I have to say I'm somewhat lacking."
