This place is where we, the experienced roleplayers, will teach you to roleplay with succesion! Follow our rules and guidelines and you will be good too (we hope) and you will be able to roleplay freely, and create and join RPs.

For those of you who dont know how to make a RP of your own, go to the main RPLC and click new topic, from there you can make your own RP! Now try it out, and other new roleplayers will join and maybe even an experienced one will too!

As someone who has participated in multiple rps, take my advice. The more detail, the better grammar, and spelling you have, the more people will want to role play with you. Check your spelling, punctuation before you submit your posts. Also, make sure that you post has plenty of details. If the post looks too short, add material! For instance, if you post this.... "Mike walked up to Mary and said 'what are you doing after school?'

Replace it with...." Mike sauntered closer to Mary, the girl he sat next to in class. He had had a crush on her since the year began. 'So,...' Mike said nervously. 'What are you up to after school?' "

This offers a better image of what the character is doing, and gives a sense of emotion. It also gives the other play more to work off of.

I say these things from experience, and personal preference. Doing these things also makes you look more intelligent.

And a contribution from the Morso school of good RPing...

Seriously... people, don't put internet slang in your RPs. The last thing I wanna see is:

john walked over 2 joe and said "wtf is that car doing in my driveway?".
OR
"stfu you idiot!" said stacy to marco.

Seriously. 1) Learn your frickin' grammar! 2) Type out the whole damn word, it won't kill you. 3) Learn to spell. 1 & 3 were already mentioned by Rhia, but BY GOD noone seems to get pissed off by 2 as much as me.

Thank you for your time, and happy RPin' folks...
Love n' Bruises

Some finess from Magitrix U.

Also remember to convey emotions when you RP. "Oh my goodness" is not very strinking. "OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!" she yelled, trying to catch the glass bulb before it fell...is much more powerful.

Please also remember puntuation. It is very hard to read your posts when you are all over the place with bad grammar and you start and end new sentenceces and don't use commas and have one big run on sentence. (Sort of what I just did to give you an example of how bothersome that can be).

One last thing to bear in mind is that sometimes you do need to talk out of character (OOC) in one of our roleplaying forums. You can do this by using brackets [], or double parenthesis (()). This helps us to know that you're not talking as Bobby, the crime fighting ninja superhero secret agents purple elephant, you're talking as yourself.

Now go on out there and use what I've taught you and make our forums a better place! smile

And if you have writer's block... PLEASE SAY SOMETHING DAMMIT!!! I know most people dont like to write really long posts and sometimes you dont need to, but it does help to describe some of what is happening... I know if you look at most of the RPs you wont find that but ask Rhia to teach you, and if you catch her online she'll teach you alot. Or you can read books, yes READING BOOKS CAN HELP! Trust me, I know...

I can affirm to that...

Just check out page 214 of the "Be My Guardian Angel" Know where I got the level of detail from? BOOKS! I don't like bein' wordy, though...personally.

I like the Hunter: the Reckoning books...'cos they're relevant to that RP. But any book will do, as long as it pertains to the subject matter...

Like Lord of the Rings (ugh) for intricate details for a fantasy role-play...
Or Vampire: the Masquerade for the good stuff on a vampire role-play!

Of course, the internet is a good place to look up books, too. Even other RP communities online have that sort of detail n' stuff!

Take it from me learn to put puncuation and make sure to put actions and sentences in a sepatrate way rather than craming them all together you will end up with an rp room that doesn't understand what your saying trust me ask them i do it (but im trying to get better)

I learned how to Rp mainly by fighting in paragraph form. My mentors were tough enough to teach mean everything from Amouraq high to Magi's talking 101. If you need help going into detail, I'm your girl.
