Band's History

It all started in California only six months before their first album was released. The 5 person band decided to record their album right away rather then get burned out playing clubs every night for their friends. They found that to be pointless, although the group's look set them apart from other bands, their style was also unique and something new to the ears of Korn's Jonathan Davis. Orgy was the first band to sign to Korn's label, Elementree Records. As if the shock of being signed within six months wasn't enough, Orgy was brought onto the Family Values tour. This gave Orgy a taste of something they had never had before, mainstream exposure. The bands popularity grew, well known for their cover of Blue Monday. The band was getting more popular by the day.

Orgy released their first album, Candyass. The album containing a new style of music, fresh to the ears of any listener. "It's pretty much just all bullshit," says Jay. "We conjured up a bunch of lies and fairy tales." The record was recorded in Tahoe, and after many long days and longer nights the record was done. A true work of what Orgy was capable of, only after six short months of playing together. Ryan, the co-writer of Korn's hit song Blind says, "It's kind of like death pop. Our songs are all just slightly deranged, but I can definitely hear them on the radio. Don't look for any more meaning than that."

The unique style of music and clothing keep Orgy one step ahead of the pack, always there with something unexpected to keep fans waiting to see what they can come up with next. And we can only wait to see what Orgy has in store for their fans.

Band Bio's

User Image
Name: Paige Haley
Born: May 10th 1966
From: Alameda, California
Bio: Before Paige was in Orgy he was in various other rock bands. He's been friends with Jay the longest out of any member of the band. They've been friends for 14 years! Paige is responsible for making a name to describe their sound - "Death Pop."

User Image
Name: jay Gordon
Born: 30 January 1967
From:San Francisco, California
Bio: Jay Gordon was born in San Francisco California, in January of 1967. He always grew up around music and was always very good at it. He used to play bass for four years, until he met Ryan and soon things began to fall together to become Orgy. They never did want to play many small town shows because they didn't want to become burnt out. Good thing Ryan had previously played in a band with Korns lead singer John Davis. Orgy was soon signed to Elementree/Reprise records. They hid themselves away in a cabin in Tahoe to do their first CD, 'Candyass', released on August 18 1998. They later released their second album, 'Vapor Transmission', on October 10 2000. Now all five of the boys are recording their third album planned on being released sometime in September... along with Bobby's (drummer) expected baby! Congratulations Bob!!! Now Jay is planning on opening a record company of his own. Good luck to them all.

Name: Amir Derakh
Born:June 20, 1963
Bio:He was a former member of Rough cutt which he also played the guitar in that back as well. Sorry not much on him folks.

User Image
Name:Ryan Shuck
Born:April 11th 1973
Bio:Ryan Shuck was in a band called “Sex Art” with Jonathan Davis of the now famous band Korn. Together, the two co-wrote the song ‘Blind’ which appears on Korn’s first and self-titled album. Jon didn’t ask Ryan if he could put the song on the CD, so Ryan sued him. Luckily for Ryan, Jon wasn’t rageful, vengeful, or permanently pissed about being sued by his ex- band mate. Jon repayed Ryan by introducing him to his friend Jay Gordon. Jay was no stranger to the music industry. He was literally an instrument whore. He played a lot of instruments (bass, keyboards, drums, and more....). He also helped a band called Coal Chamber with both of their CD’s. Another man named Amir Derakh also helped on the Coal Chamber Cd’s (cue the cheesy music). So to make a really long story short, Amir, Ryan, and Jay began playing together. Jay invited a drummer, Bobby Hewitt, to join, and he eventually he invited his childhood friend, Paige Haley, to join the group. He was the last member to join. Together, they called themselves Orgy. The greatest band to ever grace this earth. Remember that guy who Ryan sued, Jon Davis? Well he decided to sign the bois to his label Elementree, and they are co signed under Reprise records.

Name: Bobby Hewitt
Born: April 9. 1965
Bio:Bassist Paige Haley, guitarist Amir Derakh, and drummer Bobby Hewitt soon completed the lineup. All were veterans of the local L.A. club scene. Derakh had previously gained some fame in the 80s metal band Rough Cutt, and Hewitt was a former member of Electric Love Hogs. Gordon and Derakh were also experienced producers.

while i love Candyass and Vapor Transmission, Punk Statik Paranoia is my favorite album by them. its a bit heavier than their previous albums and i think thats what does it for me. Once a metalhead always a metalhead i guess. i just love my music hard and heavy, holyshit that sounds really funny xd
anyway, great band, i hope they continue to put out great music for years to come 3nodding
