The moss green male padded alonge looking for a place to stay for the night after a rather large deer kill. Exuasted it took him all day to track and bring down the large buck. 'why do i always try for such large kills?' he questioned as he jumped into a tree and laied down for a moment licknig his muzzle that was still a light shade of pink.

It had been such a long time since Tae could remember interacting with another wolf. She had spent the last few years wondering alone in solitude. After the lost of her mate, Falcan, and her brief encounter with Dagda she had wondered the land alone. But recently she had started to desire the company of another.

Her soft fur shimmered from oily black to midnight blue as she paced through the undergrowth, shards of light piercing the canopy of the tresses above. She had eaten recently and thus hunting didn't occupy her mind like it usually did, a lone wolf always had to be on the look out. Now she just longed for company.

She hadn't walked these woods in a long time, she didn't really belong anywhere any more, but it had been a while since she'd been this way. These lands she remembered for being far more populated by wolves than those she'd wondered of late, which was probably why she had sub consciously ended up here. She didn't set a fast pace, she had no need and thus slowly meandered around the soaring pines and through the undergrowth which managed to grow in the limited light.

Then on a sudden whispering breeze she caught the scent of another wolf. Strange to her nose, she lifted her head to try and catch anything behind it, he was male and in a more sedate form, no aggression or hostility. She wondered if he'd scented her. She strolled on towards the scent, slowly as not to alarm the male if he'd not scented her. Then she sighted him; a large moss green wolf, he was lolling on a tree which had been dead for a long time, now laying on it's side and had slowly been consumed by soft green moss and silver lichen. She stopped for a moment and gazed at him and waited patiently for him to notice her.

The wind picked up and carried a scent unknown to Kato's muzzle. He lifted his head and followed the scent to the blue female who seemed to be watchnig him. "May i help you miss? Are you lost?" he asked polietly jumping off the tree and landing on his padded paws.

He looked at her and bowed a little showing his respect to her, also saying he did not wish to hurt her. Most didn't know that he was a perfect gentleman, and would never disrespect a female. And he hadn't had much other interaction with other females because he'd been spending a lot of time with Callisto, his mate.

She dipped her head slightly as he spoke as a show of respect. From his scent it was clear he meant no harm to her. As he finished speaking she raised her head and focused her eyes on him, confident though not confrontation.

'I am not lost, a lone wolf is never really lost as they never belong to a place to begin with. I hope I have not wondered on to your packs territory, I passed no scent marks.'

She let the question hang in the air for a bit before slowly adding.

'Forgive me if I intrude upon you in any way also.'

She held his gaze and waited patiently for a reply.

He shook his head slightly "Not at all miss, i was jsut staying here for a few days."

This was not the first time he'd ran into a lone wolf, even thought this one didn't seem to pose any threat to him or anything for that matter. " I do hope that i wasn't intruding on your feeding or resting area" he said and looked around not seeing any bones or a nest of any sort.

Glanding back up at her he licked some more blood off his muzzle still tasting the metallic red liquid on his tounge.

She held his gaze steadily, storm grey eyes containing more emotion than her words. She replied to his question.

'Intruding, no, I have wondered from where I usually roam, I have a longing for company at last.'

She flickered her gaze from him to the surrounding woods, a vague expression passing over her, before quickly returning the gaze.

'It's been such a long time. Do you know these woods well, I have walked them once or twice but having someone show me around or direct me would be far better.'

She stood patiently. Her eyes fixed on his, she always thought you could read a lot from another's eyes, alongside their scent and body language. He seem to be every bit the gentleman, kind hearted and giving. An easy first encounter after such a long time. She had been lucky.

He wasn't intimatdated by her stare only returned it with a gaze of knowdege and compassion.

"Your not alone in that quest, i have ben in the company of only one other until now and its delightful to see a new face" He glances at her dotted marknig and blue black fur.

"Yes i do know this forest well, I've been here awhile and would be honered to show you around."

She released his stare and took in her surroundings. The pines where thicker on the left and the shadows became thick and dark, she did not mind the dark, she often found in comforting under a nights sky but she didn't feel like such a place now, for now she was happy to stroll in the more open areas of the woods.

She looked at her companion, he blended in so well to his surroundings, his moss coloured coat and silver accents complimented the lichen growing in the trunks of the pines and moss growing thick under and over the layers of rotting needles on the ground. She inhaled deeply, the sweet scent of the pine sap strong in her nostrils. She readied herself and replied.

'Then lead the way my friend.'

He watched her take i the scents that he himself had become to love. He was often told by his friend Erjon that he looked and smelled like the forest after a fresh dew. That always made him laugh and smile a bit.

Caught by her reply he nodded and turned aronud heading towards the only safe and open place he knew in the whoel forest. It was a small clearing in the middle that hardly any other wolves knew of.

"So you've never had any other contact with friendly wolves?"

She hesitated for a second only before following. The question he presented seemed rather strange, why did he get the impression she hadn't?

'I've had contact with many a wolf in my time, both good and bad, though of late I have wondered a lone, I usually enjoy my solitude, but of late I've developed a longing for company. Thus I now wonder these more populated areas.'

She picked up her pace to reach the male and then slowed to match his. She was not a bulky wolf, she was lean and fit. She had years of experience of hunting by herself and had tuned her body well to her needs and her fascination with water and swimming had also helped to build strong muscles. The dappled light piercing the trees caused her coat to simmer from oily black to midnight blue, her coat was thick and suited her needs also, extensive swimming and the lack of a mate or pack members to add warmth at night meant that nature had slowly adapted itself and she'd grown a thick soft undercoat with a thinner more oily one above, which only made her coat look all the richer.

It was good to have someone beside her, even in the silence between the exchange of words the company and presence of another was welcomed by her. It had been too long.

He listen to her words carefully, they held a certin longing and sorrow for somethnig that she didn't want.

"And you never wanted a pack to call home? That is our difference, I want a place to raise a family and friends. Even though i've made so many outside of a pack already"

He slowed a little knowing he was about two times bigger than her. Kato had long strong legs, thanks to the loads of running he did. He would rather run than kill or fight. It was a free feeling and he never got tired of it.

It been very long since he had had another female by him, it was nice to have a new person to relate to, she seemd to know how the feelnig was to be alone and desire company of another.

She kept his pace with ease and let a moment pass by without replying to his comment. In time she informed him.

'I have never wanted to belong to a pack, no. I find group company rather stressful and a wolf of my age can well do without it. Anyway it's been so long now since I've been around more than one other wolf I have become adjusted to the style and pace of life it demands; which I believe can sometimes be just as stressful but I can deal with that.'

She was talking of the problems of hunting alone and interacting with other wolves often those more dominate than her and part of a pack. There were other factors of course, like other forms of wildlife and the problems each changing season brings. It was true though, she had adjusted to her lifestyle and thus had priceless knowledge within her.

But something else also burned within her, she was a wolf after all and by nature she was a pack animal, who needs social interaction. It was that deep ingrained nature that drew her here now and no matter how content she was by herself she couldn't deny her natural instincts any longer.

She kept her head slightly lower than his as not to insult his rank and made sure she didn't pass his shoulder also and kept the slow lumbering pace he had set. She didn't wonder where he was leading, it didn't matter, she had no need to be anywhere else thus she didn't question him upon it either. She cast flickering glances at him, she was trying to place him and where he stood in the world. The fact that he wanted a place to raise pups indicated he hadn't found one yet, though he had a few connections by the sound of it, thus she kept her head lowered.

((Sorry I've taken so long to reply, hopefully that makes up for the delay))

He glanced at her and smirked ever so slightly. She thought of him as a higher rank than herself.

"I find it very intresting how you see me as higher rank than you, keeping your head lower than mine and staying behind me. I must inform you that I am only a Gamma, and if your wondering if i have a pack. I do, the Lykos pack is where me and my mate belong"

Even thought the pack was new to him he knew that the Alphas would gladly give theri lives to help him or his mate. They were very compassionate to the pack.

The moss male noticed her wanting to be a friend of someone, all wolves longed to be with someone, weather it be another wolf or some sort of animal out of our species. This female marvled him, she had put up such strong barriers aronud herself as to not let anyone in. He'd done the same thing and had to learn to give trust in people. It was hte only true way to live and be loved.

"The pack i find myself in openly welcomes the company and friends of its pack members. I consider you a friend to me and if you ever feel the lure of company just find them and have them call me, I will be there in the next moon"

His first comment startled her slightly though she displayed no out ward sign of it. She replied rather gently as not to sound patrionizing.

'Well yes that is true. By most standards lone wolves, like myself, are considered of lower rank to a gamma who is a member of a pack. Thus was always my understanding of things.'

She paused and then added.

'My name is Tae, I do believe I haven't the knowledge of your name either, yet. Thank you for the offer of company, I will remember it.'

She was trying to be polite, but the fact of the matter was packs of wolves always daunted her. She preferred the company of a single wolf, rather than multiple ones. Which was why pack life never really seemed to agree with her. She enjoyed her solitude for the most part, just once in a while she wished to converse with another wolf for a time.

He smiled at her comment, it was rather funny how she thought that he deserved the respect that she was giving him.

"You believe that i need the respect you give out so willingly? Isn't it true that only give respect when it is given to you?"

He stopped at a rocky ridge and looked over the edge then jumped down landing on a smoother ledge and looknig over a large lake. HE sat there and looked up at her waiting for her to follow.

"My name Is Kato, it's a great pleasure to me to inalyl meet yor proper aquantiance."
