You have stumbled upon a mysterious shop front while walking the cobble stone streets of Durem. Random items clutter the dusty front window, but nowhere can you find a name of the shop. Curious, you decide to check it out. What could the harm be? Stepping in, a tiny bell above the door chimes, and you are met with a blast of warmth.
The shop looks more like a home than anything, and you wonder it maybe you stumbled upon a hotel. Your eyes drift lazily as you take in the sights. The entryway is somewhat tiny, with a wall of shelving for shoes directly in front of you. There is a reception desk directly to your left, but it is facing the same direction you are. No one sits in the roller chair. From there it quickly opens to a large area which looks like a living room, with an attached kitchen. The walls bulge out in giant horizontal pillars of wood, giving the effect of a log cabin. The fire place on the far end of the room is decorated with soft stones that reach to the ceiling, and the floor is decorated with a soft rug, a coffee table and some seating space.
Before you have time to take the rest in, a woman appears from a set of stairs, just around the corner from the shoe rack. Her hair is silvery in colour and pulled back, letting the bangs and some chunks fall to the side. Her bright red eyes met yours as she spoke.
"Welcome! Welcome! Please, take off your shoes and your jacket, and make yourself at home."

It was a quiet day, just like any other. Durem was bustling with its usual activity, people relaxing and chatting with neighbors while others ran frantically here and there. Eiru glanced down at his watch. 3:59. He was supposed to meet someone here to complete a business deal at 4, but so far no one showed up. His brows furrowed and he tapped his foot lightly. It didn't help that the sun was shining directly in his face, making him feel uncomfortable.
Instead of glaring straight ahead in an irritated fashion, he glanced across the shop windows... and stopped on a particularly strange looking one. It was 4:10 now and whatever bigshot he was supposed to meet hadn't shown up, and didn't seem to want to show up. He picked up his briefcase and walked towards the shop without meaning to.
"Well, at least its out of the sun. Perhaps that man will arrive... since he wasted my time, I might as well return the gesture."
Eiru pushed open the dusty door, stepped in, and immediately looked for something to wipe his hands on. He really didn't like any grime, even if its just dust.
After taking a tissue or two from the box on the reception desk (still unsatisfied), he finally noticed the interior of the shop and was quite taken aback. What do they sell here...? Perhaps it's a consultation business? It's rather too cozy for that though. A man of few words, and not wanting to raise his voice, he looked for a bell to ding on the desk but found none.

Only a moment had passed before Rose made her way down the wooden steps. She had heard the door open, and had stopped to see what was going on. At first she expected to se Hattie, as there was no calls for someone to come greet them. She was a bit taken back when she spotted a rather sharply dressed man standing in the entry.
"My apologies." She bowed slightly to the man for not being there to greet him when he arrived. "Welcome to my little shop. I am Rose." She smiled, in greeting to the man. Admittedly, the man seemed slightly intimidating, but not in a necessarily bad way. It was like a certain air of importance rang out in the way he stood. "Please, come in. Feel free to look around." She motioned to the small shelves which decorated the wooden walls, and to the window area where items sat in display. "Would you like something to drink during your stay? Coffee? Tea? Water?"

Eiru turned around at the sound of the stairs creaking. Rose? Like the flower...? He felt strangely comfortable in Rose's presence. Perhaps it was due to her name, his favorite flower, or perhaps it was because she had light hair and red eyes just like him (a rather uncommon combination). Maybe it was just her calming smile?
His gaze absentmindedly goes towards the direction in which Rose pointed. Eh? Random trinkets. Everyone's desk at his workplace is littered with these things. It seemed so pointless, not to mention it made their work space cluttered and unprofessional. Regardless, Eiru continued to stop and stare at each individual item, even if he was standing rather far from them.
After his 5th or 6th item, he realized Rose was still there.. staring at him as if awaiting an answer to something. Frantically searching his mind for the question and thus remembering not returning an introduction, he sputtered out, "I-I'm Eiru..." He looked down in slight embarrasement - he hated making mistakes like this. Regaining his composure (and finally deciding on a drink), Eiru looked back at Rose and said, "Water please... and thank you."

[I'm so sorry for all the delay Airu T ^T I'm not usually this bad. I normally reply right away D: -has been super busy with getting ready to go on a three day camping trip- I promise I won't hold you or the RP up anymore orz]
Rose smiled and gave a polite nod. "Water it is. Please, make yourself at home!" She added as she turned away and headed for the kitchen. He socked feet made soft padding noises as she moved quickly across the hardwood floor, and up the two small steps that lead her up to the kitchen.
She pulled a glass from a cupboard near the refrigerator, and placed it carefully on the counter, as to not make any large sounds. As the humming sound of the refrigerator kicked on, she opened it's door, and pulled out a clear jug, with iced water filling it nearly to the top. She poured it carefully, to not make the ice splash about the counter, and once full, she placed the jug back to its resting place.
"I hope you don't mind ice." She warned slightly, as she made her way across the wood floor, to give her guest his water. Once over, she handed the glass, which was wet with condensation by then, to the taller man.

(( hehe no problem XD i'm patient! and here i give you something rather short "orz ))
Albeit the place was cozy, he couldn't imagine feeling at home here. Neither did he want his smooth suit wrinkled at the slightest, so he decided that standing would work well. He continued to take in the environment, while shooting glances at the items on the shelves, until Rose came back with the water.
Accepting the glass gracefully, Eiru gave a nod of thanks. "Pardon my asking, but what exactly is the purpose of this shop? ... Do you sell those.. objects..?" He sipped his water quietly, pondering how a place like this stays in business selling things like that.

Rose nodded slightly, but realized that probably wasn't the politest way to answer. She flushed slightly, and gave a slightly nervous chuckle. "I guess you could say that. Though... I more or less don't sell them, as much as I... give them away, I suppose." She flushed a little more, realizing how silly that must have sounded to him.
She had never really felt the need to explain those details to anyone before, and found herself almost regretting it the moment she had. Really, she preferred to spring that on her customers at the last second. They seemed to think less about it after they found an item they really loved. But, what is said is said, and that was that. She decided it best to possibly divert the conversation elsewhere. "Have you found anything you like?"

"Ah, I see..." except he didn't really see. In fact, he was completely flabbergasted. How was this place furnished? Is that why it resembles more of a home than a shop? And the items were given away for free! His thoughts continued, full of disbelief. As usual, he only focused on materialism, he hadn't the faintest clue that this shop felt different because of another reason. His brows were slightly furrowed, otherwise his face remained blank.
Being in the business industry for quite awhile, and dealing with a variety of customers, Eiru learned to keep his emotions subdued. Noticing her discomfort, he gave Rose a smile. This was another thing he learned in the industry: fake but genuine-looking smiles help gain trust. But this felt different, perhaps he smiled for real?
Eiru dropped his previous thoughts after hearing Rose's question. Something I like..? Even if I found something, what would I do with it? I certainly don't want anything extra on my desk at work. Perhaps I should just pick an item and see what she's up to. There's nothing to lose.. and I've already spent time browsing some of them.
"I'm not particularly fond of things like this. But..." he walked towards a paper rose lying limply against the shelf edge, ".. this reminds me of my sister. She runs a floral shop."

"A floral shop? Really? That sounds awfully lovely." Rose smiled and walked over, looking fondly at the paper rose in his hands. A petal lay limp to one side and the wire stem glinted awkwardly. The metal was slightly deformed from being worked into to many shapes before it became a stem for the delicate rose, and caught the light in various patterns.
"Would you like to keep it?" Rose questioned, looking up into the mans red eyes, contentment washing over her face. "There is only one condition, and it's fairly simple. All I ask is you return in two weeks, to see how you and the rose are faring, and to make sure it doesn't need any repairs. Of course, you seem like a busy man, so I'm sure it must be more than a bit of a hassle, but it would be nice if you could find the time." Rose stumbled on her words, slightly muttering. She didn't want to be an inconvenience to the man, but felt, somehow, that the rose might do him some good.

Would anything keep me from dropping this in the trashcan shortly after walking out of here...? Eiru held the flimsy rose closer to his face. It was such a poorly constructed rose, and not even made out of fabric. He could easily get dozens of real ones from his sister... but, alas, he could not resist this flower, even if it were man-made. "Of course," he replied, looking straight back into her eyes.
He tucked the paper rose carefully into his breast pocket, took out small note pad, and flipped through a few pages. "Hmm.. I have free time two weeks from now." The note pad clasped shut. "I'll be back."
Eiru picked up his briefcase and headed out. Right before letting go of the door, he turned around with a genuine grin and said, "Thank you."
