What do you think about Yamaha guitars? Or even the Yamaha company itself?

Heard the gutiars are good never tried one tho. Not really interested to tell ya the truth. Back then they had a DG1000 amp that was really good.

the high end ones sound great, and the beginner ones are reasonably priced, so I they think they are pretty good. Canadian guitars are also great for the price, if you don't mind playing non-USA guitars. They make kick a$* bikes too, and I would probably buy one of those before buying a guitar from them if I had some money to blow.

Meh, I think that they're alright. There are obviously better brands out there, but not really for the price.

I couldn't tell you about the modern ones, but I've got an old Yamaha from the 60s that suits me quite well.

I always feel unsure about a brand that makes like motorcycles and stuff producing musical instruments, but Yamaha guitars are generally good deals. I have a Yamaha acoustic because it was the best thing I could find for the money and I know their electrics can hold their own. I've thought about getting one of their electrics as a backup.

from my own experience playing Yamaha acoustics, those things are horrible. But of course that only goes so far as the cheapy ones. I can't tell you for sure how the better ones are, but I wouldn't recomend one based on that.

Their pianos and bass guitars have a really good reputation, as well. Their higher end stuff is really good. I always wanted to get a John Myung sig. model bass from them back in the day, hah

I'm not a big Yamaha fan. Their trumpets aren't much and their guitars don't inspire me. The only Yamaha I ever liked was some cedar axe. I forget what the model # was.
Besides, I don't like companies who don't specialize in one thing only - Yamaha makes all kinds of stuff from guitars to motorcycles to boats. Since they're not focusing on one thing at a time, chances are they're not keeping too good an eye on what their individual departments are doing: that's probably why, as far as I can see, the quality isn't as good as it should be.

Yeah I know what you mean. I feel the same way.

Anything that Yamaha has it's hands in it pretty decent stuff. If you want something really exquisite then you're looking in the wrong place unless your talking about a custom guitar. I've played quite a few that sound excellent compared to other guitar companies.
