Sarah was nervous. This was her first official class and it was a subject she wasn't exactly the best at. Magic was an okay subject with her. Luckily, she was just to cover some of the basics of magic and it's various types. The woman fidgeted as she waited for her pupils to arrive. They were all fairly good kids from what she'd read in their files. Hopefully that meant her first class would be simple. She crossed her fingers on that thought.

The boy bit his lip slightly, brow creasing as he walked down the hall. The other kids... they'd have their dragons with them... He was sure of that. He tugged lightly one of the slowly growing strands of hair nervously before taking a deep breath. He'd just... explain that Flower couldn't make it, that was for the better. It's what Haru had suggested anyway. Haru was usually right.
He inhaled a deep breath as he spotted the door, wings giving a light fidget as he recalled what he was here for again. Magic... class. Would he even be good at that? A polite knock first before carefully turning the knob and peeking into the room. "U-uhmm.. hello?" Pushing the door open another inch he stepped in, closing the door quietly behind him as he glanced at the teacher.
"Uh- oh um..." A quick thought to the name he'd read on the sheet assigning him to the class as once more he took to nervously tugging at a few strands of the pink hair, though now some white roots where showing due to growout, as he spoke. "Dr. Walker, um... I apologize but... but my dragon, Flower, he couldn't come. I-I hope that's right?" The boy shuffled a few inches away from the door, head a bit low half expecting some annoyance with him. What a way to introduce yourself. "B-but I'm here for the magic class, ma'am?"

Another magic class. Nibal was a bit excited, hoping that Ter would be in there. They'd had several melee classes together now and both enjoyed the fighting aspect. Magic classes seemed so boring when compared to melee classes. Oh well. "C'mon, Kal." The boy glanced behind him at the lagging green.
"Are we there yet?" The green was tired of walking and wanted to rest, but her boy seemed full of energy today. Too much sugar in his system! She picked up her pace as Nibal found the classroom. Finally, she'd be able to curl up and sleep through the class. She wished it was a fighting class. Those were fun to watch. These other classes were boring and she'd just sleep through them.
Nibal opened the door, noticing that it seemed he was a bit early. There was only one kid in there, some girl in pink. Kal glanced around for a dragon, curious to meet a new friend, but spotted none. "No dragon?" She questioned, a bit too loudly for Nibal's tastes and he shushed her as they found a desk to sit at and wait for class to start.

Zyanya was in her usual foul temper, though she had been lax with her training with her magical skill that Thomas had taught her, mainly abusing it to her advantage and not really practicing the assignment given to her, she wondered idly if she would be required to perform the task here. One part of her was nervous with this thought. She didn't exactly want to be a fool in front of everyone.... The scowl on her face looked perminant and grew even darker as she entered the classroom, taking note of the two students before ger gaze fixed on the teacher. Female. She bristeled more.
Hinder was becoming apt as speaking in common, he loved to jabber away with his female counterpart much to her annoyance. His drive to learn? Well....the silver Ellie could speak it. He wanted to speak it as well to impress her. He had already started before but now he was very good at it. The green swished his tail as he spotted female Kal there. Excellent. Someone to impress.

Roulette paused at the door of the classroom, heart pace quickening at the sight of the doorknob. After a dismal battle class, Roule was dishearteningly bad at weapons; even the blunt rapier proved to be something of a challenge. The boy prayed that magic would be much more enjoyable, or at least easier.
The weasel was promptly brought out of his thoughts as Vince nudged him in the side before nodding at the door. No use in waiting, right? The white nipped at his charge's clothing again at another bout of hesitation, but sat unusually patiently while Roule got his bearings.
The pale boy exhaled before opening the door. He blinked at the sight of three children - was he too early? After a quick sweep across the room, he found he didn't recognize anyone but a bird covered in pink who only looked slightly familiar. Roule quirked a brow and Vince turned to where he was staring. The bird apparently didn't have a dragon with them, which was... well, odd. Shrugging, the weasel boy moved to a seat before motioning wildly at Vince to join him. The dragon, who had obviously been oggling the other two in the room, shook his head and sat at the boy's side.

"Why hello." The woman smiled at the first child to walk in, glancing down at her notes to see which child this way. Black feathers, had to be the raven boy Revon. She managed not to raise an eyebrow at the child's clothing choice and listened closely as the boy softly spoke up. "Ah, that's okay. Today's class focuses on you more than your dragon and I'm sure you can fill him in later about it." She nodded at the boy's last question, glancing up as the next student entered and took his seat.
She greeted the frog boy, smiling at him as he led his dragon to a chair. She had almost forgotten that the dragons would be with the kids in this class. She'd read over that and had given a bit of a shudder. Dragons scared her just a bit. But at least these were young dragons and were in custody of the kids. And one of them hadn't even brought his!
Two more of her students arrived and she greeted each as they entered the classroom. Finally, she glanced at the clock. It was time to start and two of her students had yet to show. Oh well, she hated tardiness, but it wouldn't do to have the children who'd showed to sit and wait upon their classmates.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Dr. Walker and I'm subbing for today's magic class. Your teacher asked me to go over the basics of magic and some of the different types of magical energy. I know a few of you have had more magic classes than others, so some of this may be a review for some. But a review never hurts!" She grinned at the class. "So does anyone know the two types of magical abilities?"

Zyanya sat down looking over at the children who were there. THe class didn't look full but it didn't seem to stop the teacher from starting the class. Hinder sat down beside her desk, flashing Kal a toothy smile before puffing up his chest to look bigger and more impressive.
Zyana looked around as the teacher asked the question. There were only two types? She thought there had been three. Looking a bit grumpy she spoke without bothering to raise her hand.
"Arn't there three types? Mr. Barkhelm says there is magic baised from body, mind, and soul. Or is Mr. Barkhelm wrong?" she inquired almost hping that her previous teacher had been inccorect. As much as inhancing her speed was an interesting magical ability she was hoping for something a bit more flashy.

Fleur nearly tripped over his skirt as he rushed through the halls of D-Corp. He was late - late! He was never late for a class! Well, until now. Damn it all - he just had to insist on one more store, didn't he? Shopoholic skunk - damn, damn, damn! He was going to catch hell, but Stevie always said he should accept responsibility for his actions, and, truthfully, his tardiness was no one's fault but his own. He even had to send Argent home without him to take his spoils from the mall to his room so he could try to be to class on time. He felt awkward without her, but he could not have brought her along with all of those bags.
He skid to a stop in front of the door and, his ears pressed back into his hair in shame, reached out to timidly turn the door knob and poke his head in. He waited until no one was speaking before he squeezed the rest of the way into the room and closed the door behind him, bowing his head in apology.
"I'm very, very sorry I'm late," he said to the teacher, his tail pressed against the back of his skirt as he resisted the urge to hug it for support. Once the apology was out of his mouth, Fleur meekly started to the nearest desk to get out his notebook and try to catch up on what he missed.

Nibal glanced over as that girl from some of his other classes commented about something. He frowned. Three types? Was this other teacher wrong? Or was this sub wrong? This was why he hated magic. It was confusing! The boy sighed and waited for this lady to start talking again so he could write some notes down. Might as well, if he had to take this stupid class. He definitely didn't want to have to take it again. That'd be bad.

Sarah smiled as one student answered and shook her head. She paused as the door opened and one of the students rushed in. She acknowledged him with a nod of her head and glanced around the classroom before replying to Zyanya. "Mr. Barkhelm is correct in a way. He's speaking of the three types of one of the two overall main types that I was speaking of."
The woman moved to the chalkboard and started to write as she continued talking. "The two overall types of magic are learned and innate. Innate power has two subtypes: external and internal. The three types of magic: body, soul, and mind that Mr. Barkhelm taught of are the three types of internal innate magic. They are also known as spiritual, intellectual, and physical. The other form of innate magic, external, relies upon a leyline or a node for its power."
She turned from the chalkboard towards the class. "Learned magic uses a device to draw upon power. Anyone got any questions so far?" She felt like she was almost overwhelming these kids with this information. Plus, it caused a pause so they could finish taking notes and actually start to absorb some of this info.

Nibal was scribbling furiously to keep up with the notes. He hadn't had a magic class in a while and had forgotten quite a bit of this stuff. But the teacher seemed really nice and was cool. She wasn't mean like some of them were when you asked questions. But still... there was no fighting. That meant it was rather boring.
The frog boy glanced up when the teacher paused to take questions. Nibal glanced around at his classmates for a moment, wondering if anyone had any questions. Some of the kids seemed to know more about this magic stuff than he did...

"No questions?" Sarah glanced about the room once more before turning to the board. "Now, in addition to the types of magic themselves, in reference to the user, there are two types of magic powers. These are the elemental and arcane powers." She wrote them upon the board. "Now elemental is something that's rather easy to understand. It's based off the elements, such as fire, water, etc. Elemental magic allows for better energy usage."
"The other power type, arcane, can be used for the same types of spells as the elemental magic, but is more versitile. For example, if you wanted to cast a water spell right now, you could use elemental magic or arcane magic. Either one would produce the results you wanted, though the elemental would be better at the moment since you would end up using less power. However, if you were in the middle of a volcano, arcane would be much better, since you would have to use more energy when using elemental power in such a contrasting environment."
Long speech over, Sarah eyed her students. "So then, which power type do you think is the best and why? How about someone for elemental power? Care to give your thoughts on why elemental power is better?"

Fleur glanced around at the other students when the teacher asked a question, but when no one offered an answer, he meekly raised one hand and tried for himself. "If arcane magic can get you the same results for just a little more power as all of the elemental powers, why wouldn't you just use it all the time?" he asked, genuinely curious. "Does it use that much more energy than elemental?"

Scratching at an itch that didn't exist the mantis girl jotted a few notes down on the same page as she had for Thomas's class. Putting little snide remarks beside some of the contrasting information. It wasn't that she was bored, she did enjoy magic; just sitting here talking about it just wasn't quite the same as doing it.
"Elemental sounds as if it works better if you are per-say near the element. More effective. Near water use water. But if you needed water and were in a desert you would be forced to use arcane.." She drawled trying to figure out how best her magic could be used to her advantage.

Nibal glanced around the room, before speaking up. "I think arcane would be better, too. Like he said, if it works everywhere, why not just use it all of the time?" He put his pencil down for a moment to glance at the teacher. "Even if it did use more energy, wouldn't it be better in the long run?"
