Isamu perched on the rocky outcrop carefully, examining the Sigurd Mountains with what almost seemed like reverence. He'd climbed this way many times before, although few Fafner strayed here without a purpose in mind. His was simple: protect his clan, and he did so with extreme loyalty and pride. His sister made fun of him for it sometimes, of course. But it didn't bother Isamu, not after so many years spent side-by-side with his sibling. Today, however, he hoped to find someone to perhaps engage in conversation. However important, patrolling could get a little lonely sometimes...

Syrith was on her way back to her village, following a moderately successful solo hunt, when she spotted the male perched high up on the outcrop. She was thrown for a moment; she hadn't expected to see anyone else out here. But when she recognised him, she smiled. They hadn't spoken before, but he was handsome enough to be worth remembering. Now was her chance to see if he had a personality that matched up to it.

The purple-coated female began to climb the outcrop from an angle where he wouldn't be able to see her approach, nor hear her if she was quiet enough. When she reached the top, she sat down next to him, dropping her dead prey at her feet. "Hello," she said, giving him a sideways glance with the barest hint of a smile.

The sudden appearance of the female caught Isamu off guard; it wasn't often someone got a chance to sneak up on him like that. He turned his head sharply in the direction of her voice, blinking in surprise, and found a rather beautiful young femme had appeared by his side with a fresh kill. A hunter of his own clan, he found himself remembering, although he couldn't recall ever actually conversing with her. Isamu nodded in greeting, his tousled mane shaking a bit at the sudden movement of his head.

"Hello. Successful hunting, I presume?" he asked, cocking his head to one side and smiling openly as he gestured down to the prey at the female's feet.

Syrith smiled back. So she had surprised him; she had only half been expecting to. "Yes," she replied, with a brief glance down at her kill. "I was on my way back when I spotted you... it's nice up here, isn't it?" The view was spectacular. While the mountains weren't the most green or fertile of places, seen from high up like this they were certainly beautiful. She wondered if the male had been up here working, or to avoid others - it was the perfect place to sit and think. The white-marked female felt a hint of guilt at the thought that it might be the latter - but at least he didn't seem to mind.

"I don't believe we've spoken before," she added after a pause. "My name's Syrith."

Isamu regarded the mountains with the smile, following the female's gaze curiously. "It is quite nice. I come up here to relax, usually. "It's very peaceful" he noted with another small grin.

"I'm Isamu," he introduced himself, "pleasure to meet you."

...This one was intriguing. He didn't seem to mind her intruding on his peace; either he was a good actor or he was genuinely friendly. Either would surprise her, but the latter more so. Was he really pleased to meet her? "I hope I didn't interupt your peace," she commented with another sideways glance at him.

He was handsome, in an understated way. Syrith knew her patterns were considered pretty, and she could see that those of others were, but sometimes they could be too ornate... So. Time to find out more, and see how much information she could take back to the girls. Her friends would love her for getting the inside on an eligible male. "You're a sentinel, yes?" she asked. Talking about work was boring, but it was a start.

Isamu shook his head.

"I don't mind. I like company" he answered, his tail swishing about calmly. A breeze ruffled his mane a bit and a few stray hairs landed in his line of sight, but he brushed them away carelessly and turned more towards Syrith, where he could see her better without having to rotate his head.

"Indeed I am. I like being able to help others, and my father was a sentinel, too." he explained. The purple femme regarded hoim with some interest, it seemed, and he hoped they' be able to strike up a conversation. She seemed interesting, too.

"Well, you're a hunter then, yes? And a good one, probably, seeing as you snuck up on me like that earlier" he said with a chuckle.

"Hah." Syrith smirked slightly. "Well, I have to be," she added with a touch more humility in her tone. "With my colouring I stand out, I can't exactly hide... so I have to be good at other things. Like being quiet and sneaking up on people," she finished with a grin. She was, honestly, surprised that he'd joked about it. She'd expected him to be a bit more... well, uptight, if she was honest. It was a pleasant surprise to find that he was actually fairly normal.

I like being able to help others, he'd said. The girls would like that. Handsome and a nice guy. Syrith turned towards Isamu, hiding her smirk.
