This perch is currently occupied by the lovely Peridot, and fledglings are gathering around to see what the pretty lady will have in store for them.

"Oh! Oh! Oh! Mebbeh - Maybe she'll tell us somethin-ing really amazing!" Osprey was excited as she moved through the enclave and towards Peridot and her perch. She chattered away excitedly to her best friend before moving away from him to land nearby the prim and beautiful Peridot.
Although Osprey had chosen not to take lessons from Peridot, she still admired the beautiful ghost that Songbloom adored so much.
As she came to rest, she tucked her wings to her side and preened a wayward chesft feather while focusing her large golden eyes on the beautiful bard.

Featherflit stepped out of the way of the younger excited fledgling landed to greet the decorated Sentinel. Psh. What is she decorated with? What purpose does that long ribbon have?! She thought, eying Peridot. In spite of herself, she was very curious as to why she wore so many bulky, gaudy objects.
Keeping her mouth shut and her eyes and ears open, Featherflit wriggled silently with the effort of restraining her laughter. This will be quite an entertaining night!

Inside, Hollyhock was just as excited as Ossie, but outside he was the quiet one, nodding his head solemnly and listening to his chatty friend. Just before he opened his mouth to speak, Ossie had dashed off. Laughing a bit, Hollyhock shook his head and followed much more slowly. He rather hoped they'd hear stories, but anything would be nice. A dismissal from boring classes and a tedious evening with the minders was much-loved.
Periodot's accessories struck him with their brightness, though not in the same way they interested Featherflit. He, rather, was considering the beads. They were so nice and round, and probably fun to play with. Probably fun to swallow, though that thought never acutally made it into Hollyhock's head. It was a compulsion, not a pastime, that habit of his.
Indeed, he idly picked at the wood beneath his talons for a moment before looking up at the other fledgling, a little girl with colouring rather like his own. "Hullo," he said quietly to her, smiling before shaking out his wings and setting to preening.

Osprey turned her eyes to Featherflit and then to Holly as he approached. She was glad to see him, but hardly new the other deep woods type. She was already slightly larger, being a mist, but could not help fluffing up and standing tall in an attempt to look a tad bit bigger. "Mnn, yeah, hello!" She chimed in, directed at the deep woods female.

Peridot was set to preening fluffy chestfeathers as her perch became occupied, and she lifted light green eyes to each of the coming fledglings, a wide smile on her beak. Gus the parus was perched on a small branch above them, trilling beautifully as he was instructed, excitedly flapping his little wings and scuttling back and forth. She set her jewels squarely on her chest, shifted and folded dappled gray wings firmly against her back, and started to waddle on down the line. Her head was inclined somewhat, an expectant look in her eyes. Every once in a while, she would nod her head, more to herself than to the particular fledge she was looking at, and would click her beak in approval.
"My, my! What a lovely sight ya'll are! Come on close ta me now." Sizing up the younger sentinels, she beamed at Osprey, for she had noticed the admiration in her big golden eyes, and then to Featherflit and the young gentleman Hollyhock, and she gave a little chuckle before straightening up.
"Ah, I think it's best we start with introductions, as any polite and proper Sentinel of society would do. I am the Lady Peridot, singer of the bardsongs, great granddaughter of the Great Olivine." Her voice was lilting and free, nearly a song of its own as she flared her wings and gave her head a little bow to the others. "Now, your turn."

Listening seriously to Periodot, Hollyhock moved in quickly, though not overeagerly, and settled neatly down at Periodot's feet. Looking up at her, he tilted his head curiously. Her introduction made him smile a little bit, but he laid his eartufts flat when he realized that he had never heard of Olivine. Thta wasn't good, he didn't think. Clicking his beak, he had already stood and returned the bow and was halfway to introducing himself before he realized that he had taken the initiative to go first.
But he didn't mind. Lifting his still-bowed head, he smiled at Periodot. "I am Hollyhock. I hope to become a scout or a ranger, someday."

Featherflit nodded politely to the other two fledglings. Both the larger Mist and the similarly colored Deep Woods Sentinels seemed sort of excited about seeing Peridot. Craning her neck to catch a glimpse of the other acts, Featherflit wondered what was going on near Brightling.
Snapped back to attention by Peridot's words, she tilted her head at Peridot's strange accent. She talked kind of slow and smoothly, which sounded almost foreign to Featherflit's ears. The mention of this Great Olivine only confused her further. Who was that? But Hollyhock's introduction caused Featherflit to bristle with pride. Another Scout! Maybe they would work together someday.
Preening her wings nonchalantly, Featherflit clacked her beak. "I'm Featherflit. I wanna be a scout someday too." she said loudly. Neglecting this strange bowing ritual, she remained perched where she was, poking a few feathers into place with her beak.

Osprey bowed politely to Peridot, but felt somewhat challenged by the fact that both Hollyhock AND Featherflit wanted to be Scouts. She was sort of happy that Holly wanted to be one, also, but Featherflit? Feeling somewhat challenged, the mist fluffed her feathers and smiled proudly.
"M'n--- My name is Ossie! I'm gonna be the best scout ever! N' --- And Songbloom said you would sing songs 'bout how bad I am an' -- And that I fly badly, but I don't so you ain't, right?" She babbled on, trying to mask what anxiety she was starting to feel. She admired Peridot greatly and did not want the beautiful bard to sing poorly about her.
OOC: Due to internet problems that I am having, I do not mind if you guys skip over me in post order, so things keep on moving.

Featherflit stopped in mid-preen to stare at Osprey. "You wanna be a Scout too?" she said excitedly, flapping her wings. She glanced at Hollyhock, formulating a plan. "Even though I'm going to be the best Scout ever, it's nice that you want to try. But I've got a great idea: we should all team up to be a super-Scout team!" Oh, the possibilities! Featherflit glanced around to see if perhaps any Elites or maybe the Brigadier was listening to her great scheme. Unfortunately, there weren't.
"We would help out Noctua so much!" she continued undaunted, tapping her talons now in a strange dance of energy. She turned around once more, tripping on a few feathers. "Umm, Peridot, right? Do you know any stories about super-Scout teams?! Hollyhock, you wanna join, right? This could be a lot of work, but it's worth it!" Featherflit's eyes were glowing now, looking down at the younger fledglings. "Well, whaddya think?" she pushed impatiently.

The ghost shifted, craning her neck with eyes aglow to admire the trio as they introduced themselves, and nodded her head genially at each of them in turn. Peridot positively beamed at the little group of fledglings, letting loose a chuckle at their excited antics. "Oh, simply marvelous! Ya'll are such a funny and charmin' group, I'd believe you'd even be suited ta be a troupe of your own!"
She clicked her beak and smoothed out her feathers, watching them as they found surprise in each other's career paths. Ah, scouts, the lot of 'em. How noble! I'm sure the Brigadier will be pleased. Goin' into a combatant field 'n all, this'll surely be one of the las' days of fun they'll have. She didn't mean to be scathing, but was so used to the fun and fancy-free bard life that she couldn't fathom anything outside of it.
"Noctus me! All scouts? Ya'll are a very responsible lot, y'know. Being a scout is truly hard work! Ya must have very strong wings and 'n even stronger determination to do well." She turned a fierce green eye on them for a moment, then brightened up almost as quickly with a wide smile. "But, ya'll look like a fantastic team ta me, and quite able, so I know ya'll will do well, and I'll be able to sing empowerin' songs of your Super Scout team!" She turned quickly to Osprey with a wink and a chuckle. "Instead of a song about none too good flyin'." Of course, she was kidding, and would never sing a bad song about someone she knew - it was almost as bad as gossiping. "Well, Hollyhock, Ossie, Featherflit - the best future scouts ever - I'm sure ya know of... The High Fliers," she paused, eyes squinting at the three with brow raised, though her face held a quality of mischief as she grinned. "Well?"

Hollyhock was concerned. Until this moment, he hadn’t thought there’d be another fledgling quite as talkative as Ossie, and now that he had found her, he wondered if things would ever be the same. Personally, Holly wanted more to be a Ranger, but since he was studying with scouts, it might happen as such. He had just said Scout because Ossie’s inane chatter got into his head and confused him half the time.
He also wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about being in a team with two girls who thought they were both going to be the best scouts ever.
As he fixed his attention on Periodot, he decided that a career as a ranger would probably the safest—and quietest—way to go.
{{OOC: I felt the need to clarify. My thing about scouts was actually a typo because I wasn't thinking. XDDDDD; I actually want Holly to be a ranger. And now back to my post! <3}}
"High Flyers?" he asked curiously. Periodot had certainly attracted his attention at this point. After all, he never heard interesting bardsongs, only the silly little things his Minders taught him. "Never heard of them," he said, though his tone indicated not the thoughts of a know-it-all, but rather the interest of a fledgling wanting to know more.

Osprey snapped her beak shut soundly and glanced at Featherflit. There was no way she would let that little Deep Woods best her, not ever! She felt even more determined now to defend herself, but did not risk speaking for fear of saying something dreadfully impolite before Miss Peridot.
Ossie was a rather competative one and had not yet come across another fledgling that matched her furiously fast talking or her sense of fun, only Holly, who seemed content to listen quietly and follow. Despite the sudden flsh of contempt she held for Featherflit, it could very well be possible that they would become friends.
"I'm bein' trained by Miss Breeze, s'---So I'm gonna be top scout, ever." She proclaimed, though more towards Miss Peridot. It was a more passive challenge to Featherflit, istead of being a blunt start to an argument. "S'--- So I know 'bout the High Flyers! Y'--- You are going to tell us?" Her golden eyes widened with wonderment.

Featherflit glared back at Osprey, her feathers throughly ruffled. Even though the little Mist was showing off to Peridot (A bird whose opinion she didn't care too much for in the first place), she was still showing off - more importantly, showing her up! Taking tiny remarks personally was one of Featherflit's weaknesses, as is her dangerously competitive spirit. Trained by some 'Miss Breeze', hmm? I can one-up this. Did a little White Lie ever hurt anyone?
"Oh, are you still training?" Featherflit said patronizingly, before looking back at Peridot and giggling. But feeling a p***k of guilt, she looked back at Osprey. "I'm still training too, actually" she said slowly. "But I know a lot about the High Flyers too! I was related to one of them, you see. On my Ma's side. He was one of the best the Flyers had ever seen!" She forced her chest feathers to poof up in a false show of pride. Featherflit's family took great self-respect in documenting their bloodlines, though Featherflit never had good memory for all of the names and titles. But somewhere along the bloodline, she had to have been related to them! However, she preferred practicing her agility in the dense Deep Woods than bothering with ancient history! Maybe that Mist feels the same way? she wondered, looking up at Peridot to begin the story. Even so, I won't forget that little remark anytime soon, 'Ossie!'

Peridot chuckled lightly at the fledglings' reactions, her smile knowing as she looked at them, silently gathering details for her story. "Oh, Miss Breeze? A very strong and proper lady, you'll do well ta learn from her. No nonsense with that gal, but that's all the better in teachin' ya. She was a ranger at one time, y'know." The ghost nodded to herself in a matter-of-fact way, then threw a wink at Osprey, head turning to her rival as she chimed in.
"Oh! Related ta them, are ya?" The bard's eartufts twitched forwards in mock-surprise, choking down the urge to publicly chastise the little fledge for her pride. "Well then, ya should appreciate this story the most." Her sharp talons scraped against her perch as she turned, regarding Gus for a moment as he stood at the ready, green-tinted wings quaking as he waited.
"They were brave. Dashin'. Cunnin'. Intelligent. Fast, an' young of heart an' wing. They took up their tasks after graduation - three, able Scouts - with much approval from the Watchers an' the Brigadier then, an' everyone knew they would do well in their field." Peridot's voice was strong and level, and she used tone and inflection to the fullest, eyes staring widely at each fledge as she accounted the tale.
And with some unrealized cue, the Parus alighted from the branch, his wings held out as he darted to and fro and around the group, then landed next to the Lady. His wings were still held open, his pose intimidating (for a parus), strong, and he broke out into a strut, hopped a few steps, fluttered, and then came back to the strut. He trilled sharply for a moment, then made a sound similar to a hoot, and then a hiss.
"They rose quickly with their determination and willin'ness to give themselves ta the clan, whether duty called at dusk or dawn. Nevah late, not once, ta report ta the Wardens, always the first done with their assignments, and always excellently done...," and she paused, making sure her audience was still with her.
