This huge nest is resting on a few sturdy branches in one of the bigger trees in the enclave. It's wide enough to work as a stage of sorts, and there are plenty of perches in the tree itself too if Jester or the fledglings should wish to move around.

Fable landed clumsily on a branch above the stage. Looking around she saw other fledglings arriving. Her mother had insisted she attend the festival remembering her words as she left the nest, "It'll be a good experience for you." Fable wasn't too sure about that; she didn't care for crowds but did enjoy stories and songs. Her new companion, Piper, landed softly beside her and began to twitter happily, she was very grateful for his company. Fable smiled, she had a good feeling about tonight. She spread her wings and glided to the large nest, Piper following closely. With a less then graceful landing, Fable hopped over to the other fledglings.

This was going to be different. Bumble studied the area. Sturdy stage, kind of open, too open to go off from the group and explore unnoticed. The minder had told him 'This is a big event, quite important!' He poked at a branch, fiddling with what Will he had. He would go through this, maybe he could convince the other fledglings to distract while he got away...oh skurri tails. Perhaps he ought to listen, maybe it would be fun. He hardly noticed the other fledgling arrive, too busy in his own fledgling thoughts.

Jester was very nervous, as he sat on the branch just under the nest awaiting the two fledglings he was to entertain to settle in. Carefully going over and over his story in his head. It had taken him nearly all night to come up with it.
Gathering up his courage he swooped up to land on the edge of the nest, not fast enough to scare the fledglings but to create a dramatic entrance. Except for the fact that Jester was so caught up in his own thoughts he misjudged the landing. catching one foot on the edge of the nest and the other catching only air, he toppled into the nest and rolled to a stop splay footed just in-front of the fledglings.
"Oof!" was all he muttered, watching the 'birdies' fly around his head.(sorry if im a bit late, moving..icky!)

Fable jumped back at the loud crash behind her, Piper was startled, took flight, and began flying around in a frantic circle above the nest; twittering noisily. When she turned and saw the bard lying on the stages ground she hopped over quickly.
"Are you okay? Fables eyes widened with concern, all her previous fears evaporating. "When I fall like that it always hurts. Momma always said landings are the hardest."
She nibbled at the bards ear tufts comfortingly.

Bumble jumped, hearing the wild crash behind him. Catching himself by extending his wings mid-jump, he was able to prevent his own crash by startlement. Was this the bard that was to be entertaining them? Well, that crash was pretty entertaining in itself!
Righting himself, he waddled over to where the broken bard lay. "You okay?" He said, repeating the other fledglings question, keeping a slight distance in case he got up and tripped or something.

Jester looked cross-eyed at the two fledglings worried faces. Blinking a few times, he has a thought. Giggling slightly to himself, "Oh I'm quite al-RIIIGHT!" Jester called out silly-like as he purposely re-tripped over his two-toed feet landing square on his bum. "Wheeeeee!" He twittered.
Silently Jester hoped the fledgelings would find his actions comical. "And how are all..." he pointed to the two fledglings and the one companion as if counting, "3..no 4...no..3..yes 3 of you doing this fine day?" Jester asked as he slid forward to get closer to the fledglings but not to close to fast.

Fable giggled at the bard's actions. "Your funny."
She fluffed her feathers with pleasure and smiled. Her companion calmed down and perched next to Fable.
"What story are you going to tell us?" Fable asked inquisitively. " I was told there are great big scary creatures in the forest" She spread her wings to emphasize, her excitement growing, she began to paw the nest lightly, "and that they eat sentinels! Or...or...maybe..." She looked at the other fledgling beside her hoping maybe he had a suggestion.

Jester puffed slightly, "Oh no!" he mocked fear, "Scary creatures are scary!" Turning from the fledglings to bury his head in the side of the nest, peering at them from between his toes. "I don't like scary stories.....hrm..." he pretended to think. "Ah ha!"
The green dyed bard righted himself and settled in to begin his story. "Once very long ago there lived a brightly colored bug, and he lived deep in a knot hole in a tree." Jester leaned in close to the fledglings to be nearly their hight.

Bumble had to admit that he was amused by the bard's antics, but yet backed up from the tripping and falling. He didn't want to get squashed! But he relaxed and watched him as he seemed to fall no further. He looked over at the other fledgling. Scary stories? Oh yes! He nodded in her direction, but was a tad disappointed when the bard wouldn't give. Ah well!
"Bug, in a tree?" he tilted his head, where was this story going?
((Sorry, something came up))

A little sad that the story would not be about giant creatures of the forest, Fable let out a small sigh. Her imagination began to run wild as she pictured a large moth the size of herself. A small chill ran down her spine as she thought a big bug like that might be...too big.
She scuttled in closer to the storyteller wanting to hear every detail about the story.

"And every day he wished he could climb up to the leaves at the tippy top of his tree because they were the sweetest tasting of all leaves. But living somewhere above was a HUGE spider! With eight legs, the spider would tromp up and down the tree patrolling his home at the almost tippy top of the tree. And every time the bug would try for the tasty leaves the spider would try to catch him. But today was going to be different."
Jester crouched down as he spoke for the bug in a high squeeky voice. "'Today I will trick the spider!' the bug promised himself."

Bumble's eartufts perked. A story of spiders and trickery! This seemed to be getting good. He watched the bard intently, waiting to see if the spider would eat the bug, or some other form of mayhem. A battle of buggy wit perhaps, that could be interesting.
He glanced over at the other fledgling, would the huge spider freak the female out?

"So the tiny bug got an idea. He had seen other bugs of bright colors get past the big spider. The tiny bug was a plain brown color, but he knew where ripe red berries grew far below on the floor."
Jester leaned closer and spoke softer, "So he climbed wayyyyy down to the bottom of the tree and found a ripe red berry. Slowly he carried the berry all the way back up to his knot hole. Carefully he bit the delicious berry open and climbed right inside! Rolling around, he covered himself with sticky red juice." Jester pantomimed biting the berry and rolling in it.

Fable smiled, this story was getting interesting. She clicked her beak as she thought of the delicious berries.
Watching the bard's pantomiming, a question popped in her head, she opened her mouth to ask but then thought better of the idea. She remembered her mother always said that answers will always come to those who listen and wait. Feeling the anticipation building in the pit of her stomach she began fidgeting, and when she could wait no longer Fable spoke in a louder voice then she expected, "Why would the bug want to get all sticky and dirty!?! Thats just silly!"
A little embarrassed by her outburst she backed up away from the bard.
