I actually have never went to institute (I have only completed two years of seminary) but I think that because God told the prophet to create the program, it is worth it. Extra time to ponder and learn of spiritual matters can't hurt. Try it is my advice. See if you like it.

I only went a couple of times. It was pretty cool actually. More in depth than Seminary.

I found it to be like any other seminary class. You just have it for longer and it's more indepth. It really depends on the teacher. I've had some great ones, okay ones, and one really wierd nut who made it impossible for me to learn anything sane. Since he was the only one teaching this semester, I ditched it this term. Try it and have fun. we always had free food after.

My institute experiences have been pretty funny. I first went a few years ago with a friend, but only for two weeks. I can't remember why I didn't like it--maybe because I couldn't stand being around people my own age. Or maybe I just didn't have the heart for it.
But then, just a few months ago, I decided to apply for BYU-Hawaii, and my entire outlook on institute has changed (since one of the application steps is to send in a form filled out by your institute teacher). I thoroughly enjoy the lessons, I appreciate all of the hard work my teachers put into each class, and even though I'm still not too terribly fond of hanging out with people my own age (I guess maybe I should remedy that before I go to college), it's bearable because I know I'm there for a goal I want to reach, and that made all the difference for me. And I'm proud to say I didn't miss a single day of class since I started attending again. I'm even going to go to the summer semester.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, institute is awesome and definitely a good thing to go to. Even if you don't think it's directly affecting you now, you will be blessed by it, and it's better to do it now and find that it's more fun than you thought, then to give up and seriously regret it later.
(And yeah, they do have food there. It's great.)

I really enjoy institute. To me it makes the whole week better because you have the added spirit from the classes. It's better than seminary in a way because only those who want to go come and it's usually pretty good discussion and everything. I often learn new things or get impressions about my life.

I haven't really gone to Institute, seeing as how I am enrolled at a church owned school. However, I look forward to attending Institute after my religious classes are fulfilled. It sounds great.
