After last night . . . after all that yelling. All that screaming. Kyra. Rellik. Riddick. It was horrible, one of the worst since she had been here. All she was doing was forging bonds, it was the first thing one should do when entering another’s group, right? Kyra was in love with Riddick, at least that was what she was getting at from what she spoke last night. Riddick chose Yorik over her. Of course Yorik had feelings for him, deep down, she knew she did. Her actions around him were different from others, even more than Iorek. He was rough and stern, but somewhere in that dark mass was a good heart. Corny, huh? Maybe it should be known, it should be known about her feelings…

Twilight once more, the stars twinkled in the night sky, the moon once again gone just as the night they met. That embracing warmth was there again, wrapped around her. She could feel that solid form against her back, it was welcomed. Riddick must have had a paw over her or something; it felt nice to be embraced. Not even Iorek did that for her. He’d always got fidgety and say it was uncomfortable. The dark lioness did not need to open her eyes she was far too comfortable as she was, only a purr would escape her.

It had been on her mind for a while; what will she do about Iorek? By this time, her absence had made him worry, having him run all over looking for her. Only once before did she get lost and it was only for a night, that morning, Iorek roared and cried as he ran around the savanna looking for her. Even to the point of threatening those that he believed knew her whereabouts. Iorek is a kind prince, but he can turn if she was threatened, that was what worried her. She loved Riddick and had a … ‘decent’ bond with the other girls here. She worried if Iorek found her that it would endanger the group, or even more so, himself. Should she leave the group? Or should she return to Iorek and miss out on a chance of proving to herself and her twin that she was capable of taking care of herself and proving to Iorek that she can.

“… Boss?... Riddick?”

Though his body was tired, his senses were awake though he kept his eyes closed. He felt the form beside him move, and for a moment he thought of pulling his arm away that he had draped over her side, bringing her closer to him, but no, she was only just now stirring, no need to wake her any faster, specially after what had occurred only one night before this. It seemed though, that there was hope of having somewhat of a peaceful travel now, though of course, the mercs would always be out there, but now, now, there was hope that there would be peace between Yorik and Kyra.

There had been hope, reassurance in Kyra's eyes when he had told her what he truly meant, he did not want to hurt her, and she was still young in comparison to everyone else in the group. For the life she wanted, she was not ready for certain things, and truthfully, deep down, Riddick still wanted to keep Kyra the innocent female she was, though someday, he knew, it would fall in.

Yawning, Riddick nuzzled the back of Yorik's neck, purred low, "Mhmm, yes?"

She carefully rolled herself over to face him directly. Eye to eye. Her heart was racing even faster as each second pass. He was so big and strong, his body was like a mountain, a solid force that one could reliably fall back onto. She smiled softly as her paws reached up against his chest, his paw still over her. It was now or never. She reached over and licked his nose softly with a purr.

"Riddick, you do know by now . . . that I really like you, right?"

She questioned softly. Damn it, why didn't I say 'love'!? That was what I was feeling! Not like, who says 'really like'!? Though hard to see, she was blushing furiously under that dark pelt but glad that it was. It was these sort of times, maybe unintentional or what, she enjoyed the moments they shared such as these. Accidental affectionate moments. They were accidental right?

Yorik kept looking into his eyes, hoping the answer will appear in those silver lakes.

"yes, I've come to see that, Yorik," the way he said her name was emphasized, stated deeper in his rumbling voice, like soft thunder overhead. he watched her, could see her though he wondered if she knew how his eyes worked by now, so sensitive, making everything so bright in a mixture of lighter tones than everything really was. Flicking his tail he looked into her eyes, and saw a flash of color run to her cheeks, and he chuckled.

"Something getting you flustered Yorik? Your cheeks," he said low again, purring deep as he graced his cheek against hers.

Why would she bring up such a thing now did she have doubts about their grop? They were strong, could give her the shelter she would need out here.

"I... I've decided to stay here. With you. A-and the girls of course. If we come across my brother, I am certain he may make a nice member to your group here, Boss," she still blushed, at this point it was on the brink of excitement and nervousness. She wanted to stay with Riddick, that choice was made and she had decided. Anything that happened here was because of her and not because Iorek had any part of protecting or taking care of her. She was independent from her twin from the moment she agreed to do as this male said...

"Of course I'm blushing! I just admitted I loved you!" Oops... said love. Now her heart raced even faster. How will he react? What will he say? Does he love her back? It made her even more nervous.

If she ever had the chance to find a mate, if someone she respected and obeyed told her to find a mate, she would have happily chosen Riddick. Though, now it was up to him.

"Ah, I see," he said while watching her intently, his eyes watching her, he felt as if he could hear her heartbeat, see it, could he? he never could really figure out what exactly he sensed in another in this vision, heat he guessed, or something along those lines. "You don't have to call me Boss, Yorik," he let her name slide off his tongue again as he spoke it before, "Riddick's just fine."

Love...

Love?

How could someone such as Yorik felt something like love for him? Though, he guessed Kyra felt it too, though emotions were strange to him, and he didn't feel like he understood them all.

"Listen to me Yorik, listen carefully, never admit that to anyone, I know you mean it, but never speak it. If the mercs find out, it could put you and everyone in possible danger, 'specially you...do you understand?" his tone was a bit harsh, but compassionate, hoping she would understand.

"Well, everyone calls you 'Big Evil' . . . I thought Boss would fit a leader," she murmured softly. She felt a little weird that everyone had their nicknames and Riddick's was "Big Evil". Since she has been here, she had never seen him examplify that and no one really gave reason. All she knew was that he was in control and command the group, so "Boss" seemed to fit. "But if you say so, Riddick."

She watched as his expression came to a pause. Then question. And then a stern concern, the proof was what happened next. His harsh voice gave warning to never say that again. Mercs? Why can't she? She had complete and utter faith in this male and the females of the group. She was safe here, why must she worry about stupid rogues who want to harm Riddick? If that was teh case, even she would stand up to defend him.

But she agreed to his words...

"Yes, Riddick, I under . . . stand," she murmured as her eyes slowly fell from his eyes to his muzzle to his maw to his chin and finally to his chest. She could not say "I love you" to Riddick, those three special words anyone could express was now forbidden. She whispered softly in a slight meek voice, "If I cannot say it, Riddick, then how could I possibly express it to you? Forgive me if I am rushing all of this or if I am being utterly foolish. I mean, you just met me and Kyra has feeling for you too."

. . .

"I guess what I am asking is . . . do you too? For me?"

"I'm sorry, if you don't understand yet, sometime though, something might catch up with all of us, with me. Mercs, they aren't trusted Yorik, if they knew you spoke those words about me, they might try to take you, use you to get at me, I don't want that," she didn't deserve something like that, not at all. "Like I said, you don't have to say it, for I know its there now," though her next statement took him off guard, and he felt like a b*****d for the thoughts that entered his mind.

he stayed silent for a moment, closed his eyes, thinking, his face could show he was thinking of how to explain it, how to make it sound right but not cruel.

"There's something...there, I don't know emotions well Yorik, I never have. My life if not one that has been with such happy...caring emotions of connection, so its hard to say, something is there..." he put a paw on her chest lightly as well, agve a soft smile, "here...for you."

It was the only way he knew how to say anything, actions, always actions.

He purred though still, at her other question, but didn't want to say it...no, don't say it.

"I understand, Riddick. I have heard a lot about the Mercs and how they are after you, not so much who or what they are, and that does not matter," She inched a little closer to perhaps touch him a bit more, the closeness was easing things through for the female. Only have reached adulthood not too long ago, she was considerably young. With how Riddick was acting, it was hard to say. "I don't care if they come for me. I hardly leave the group and even then I am always with someone, or you. But I understand what they'll do to me and I don't want you to be hurt because of it," but it felt nice to know that this male knew her feelings at least.

The expression he had a moment ago was making her a little nervous. What was he thinking about? Was it that hard and serious that he had to make such a face? Though amusing as it was.

He did not understand emotions, at least not the good sort that she felt. It was only recently that she had felt anger in a very long time. She felt pity for Riddick, not being able to feel love. The large paw on her chest, though a small movement, was so profound to her that she squeaked a little, her eyes looking back into his.

"Something is there . . . here . . . for you."

That was all she wanted to hear, maybe she misunderstood but she was happy with that. As long as he shared some feeling for her, strong she hoped, it was all she needed. Yorik smiled softly and joined his song with her own purr before giving a soft lick on his nose.

"Sorry for throwing this at you after just waking up, Riddick." Yorik chuckled, the nervousness was gone.

Riddick wanted to tell her everything behind them, but he didn't want to expose too much information on himself, didn't want her to get the wrong idea, Kyra didn't mind it, neither did the other females, but he felt like Yorik would become apprehensive about him, everyone here if she knew about their back stories. "Mercs hunt lions down, and try to kill them, or catch them, then will take the lion to a pride who has a...." bounty? "want, for that lion, and the mercs make a profit...its like..slave trading, if you will," slave trading, not close enough but it would do.

"Don't worry about it Yorik, alright?" he said with a purr, a lick to his nose caught him off guard, he wasn't used to so much affection in such an innocent manner (probably because he never let Kyra or anyone worth it get too close).

Slave Traders. Mercs were chasing Riddick. They wanted to trade him to another pride for profits. What purpose would that be? Couldn't Riddick just run away? He was strong and fast enough, it was obvious now that there were holes in what he was saying. But it was all she knew, she had to believe in him.

"Oh. Alright, I'll try."

She yawned softly before looking up into the sky. The moonless night and the star's pathway highlighted in the night sky. It was beautiful. On some nights the twins would star gaze before falling asleep, it was hard when Iorek fell asleep early. Hard sleeper. She idly stroke his mane-chest.

"Just like before . . . huh?" she murmured softly. "When we first met. Do you remember?"
PostPosted: Tue May 20, 2008 9:07 pm

Riddick purred, looked at the stars, the lights in the night sky, they didn't hurt as much as the light from the sun, so it was better, night was always the best time to be alive, less likely of you being found, less you had a shine job like he did. "'Course I remember," that night, that time, yea, he'd remember, he was only male afterall, and a smirk plastered across his maw.

He rolled over though, stretched his forelegs, and rolled his shoulders, gave her a grin, "Come on Yorik..." he said in a playful, though still deep thunder tone, a game, always a game.

"Lets go."

She smiled, that certainly changed the subject and what more, Riddick smiled too, actually... it was a smirk? Oh, that was something she definitely had seen before. Something was going to happen soon that was gonna make him happy. Was it a fight? She watched him roll over and get to his feet, telling her to go with him. Go? Go where? She rosed to her own feet and looked at him.

"Go?" She paused to think before it sunk it. A sly smile slipped upon her maw as she rubbed herself against Riddick. "If we gonna play another game, just know that I will match your move time and time again."

A challenge.
PostPosted: Wed May 21, 2008 8:53 am

Riddick purred deep and smirked at her, eyes glinting in the night, "Then just know I will be able to see your every move...and I'll be able to out match you, least today," though he had to admit, as a skilled fighter, she was improving, though no, this game, his game, he would win.

Always won.

He nudged his shoulder against hers, laughed, and took off at a run, coaxing her to chase him.

Let the games begin.

"Oh mighty one, if you think you can out do a female, then you are surely mistaken!" She laughed in response to his boasting comment. This was the Riddick she enjoyed most of all, the playful sort that wasn't completely consumed about mercs or other dangers. The dark female smirked as he touched her shoulder before dashing off.

"A lion whose mane weighs the body down believes he can outrun a lean female such as I? Oh, Riddick, you got to get those eyes checked," Yorik spoke to herself. She dug her paws deep into the ground and sprinted after him.

"Come, Riddick, are you going to be serious now?"
