Apparently he had just been unceremoniously kicked out of the house upon reaching 'adulthood'. "Adulthood... bah..." Derix grunted as he batted a few branches out of his face, replaying the incident that had happened earlier that day.

"Now, son. It's come to my attention that you've grown to a point where it's time you learn to fend for yourself," his father said, surveying him through his reading glasses. "I expect you to find a place of your own and perhaps settle down."

"...What? You're kicking me out?" Derix sputtered, tails swishing in alarm. It was true that he spent most of his days outdoors, but he always returned to his father's house to sleep and eat. Now he had been abruptly cut off from his food supply and bed.

"I cannot house you forever," Xelon replied evenly. "Now is the best time for you to look for a suitable house." Truthfully, the half-Nobody was rather elated that his son had finally grown up and was ready to leave the coop. The unruly blue-haired Kitsu had caused enough trouble during his time with him.

Derix growled low in his throat, silver eyes flashing before he finally turned his head towards the door. "... Fine," he said succinctly. He would leave the first sign of moonrise.

"Find a house... huh..." He squeezed through a few bushes, shaking the stray leaves from his fur. "How the hell am I going to do that?"

Granted, she had been rather delighted when she found that she was now as big as her uncle, and her blade was now full size.

The only problem was Xanul himself. "Verix, look here. You're an adult, and you've gotta take care of yourself. My job is done. Bye!" With that he had popped into a portal so fast that she was left gaping at the empty air and let out a string of curses.

"My job is done. Bye! " She mimicked, looking disgusted. Seriously, sometimes Uncle Xanul was such a prude. But that made beating him fun, really. Besides, without him around, she could mess up stuff and maul someone without getting stopped.

Well, this wouldn't be so bad.

Her gold eyes glinted as she padded along, her weapon strapped to her back. Perhaps she would pay a visit to her dear "aunt". The last time they had met, Xanul had held them both apart, each on one paw, trying to get them to stop whacking at each other. Now, she could do some real fighting.

"Brother?" She called out. There was no mistaking those colorful tails...and that robotic arm. "Hey, how ya been?" She grinned at him, sharp fangs showing.

Derix whipped around, blinking for a moment into the darkness before realizing that it was his younger sister before him. He grunted in acknowledgement.

"Been better. Did you get kicked out as well?" His eyes narrowed dangerously as something clicked together. "... Those two fools planned this, didn't they." It was more of a statement than a question. What better than to kick out two disruptive young adults on the same day? Derix glared daggers at a nearby bush, as if willing it to burst into flame right there and then.

"Yeah, well... dear Father wants me to find my own place. Which is completely idiotic. I can't just find a house all ready and waiting for me." The last he checked, houses had to be built. And building took time and work. There was the issue of food as well. Derix was never one to cook, having left the task up to Xelon and occasionally Kyo.

He crushed a few twigs under his metal paw angrily and flicked his ears in an annoyed manner. "Any ideas?"

"Kicked out?" She laughed. "No, no. Uncle doesn't even live in a specific place; he pops here and there all the time. More of kicked away. Dearest Uncle said I should learn to live on my own." She raised an eyebrow, golden eyes glowing. "Oh, so you think Daddums and Uncle did this on purpose? It'd weigh heavily on their minds if they knew both of us were out alone at the same time." And uncontrolled. No one to stop them from creating any chaos.

"You could always camp over at grandma's." She shrugged. "Though last I heard, grandfather dearest still refuses to believe he's old."

"Or...." Eyes gleamed as an idea struck her. "We could take over someone else's house. Beats having to build one from scratch."

"Father doesn't really care," he said with a shrug. "He's never objected to my spending time outside." Xelon had never inquired about Derix's whereabouts during his escapades. He suspected his father didn't want to be informed about all the destruction that happened every day. "He only let me stay because I wasn't of age. It'd be just like him to secretly plan a day to get rid of me."

Camping over at Grandma's? Derix rolled his eyes. "Maybe for a short while. But taking up permanent residence there doesn't really appeal to me." Besides, he was sure his father would get Ayako to kick him out as well. There was only the option of finding an entirely different place.

He turned his silver gaze back to his sister. "Hm... I rather like that idea." The familiar wild gleam was returning to his eyes. Holding a nighttime raid and secure a perfectly functional house with everything inside included? Sounded like the ideal plan for a pair of chaotic Kitsus.

"Now then. The only thing left is to locate said house."

"Uncle dear would. He kicks up a whole lot of fuss over some mauling." Distaste flicked over her features. "I'm surprised he actually let me out of his sight really. But look on the bright side, I don't need to care about a chaperone before wrecking havoc anymore."

"I guess it'd be fun once in a while." Verix shrugged. She actually liked her grandmother, but pretending to be an angel all day wasn't what she wanted. Even if Ayako knew how they really were.

She gave him a feral smile. "Well, since you've agreed..."

"I've got a pretty good idea whose house we should raid."

"Huh, well. Here's to newfound freedom and the problems that come with it." He uprooted a nearby bush with ease and flung it off into the darkness.

"Maybe. We can visit now and then after we take over a house for ourselves." Ayako was bound to know of their true natures, as they acted as such everywhere except in her presence. It felt a bit awkward keeping the act up when they knew that she was well aware of their personalities. Although the idea of seeing his grandfather appealed to him slightly. He harbored a certain respect for the elder Kitsu, though he never openly stated such a feeling.

Derix's ears perked up at her words and he turned his full attention to his sister. He couldn't help the slow grin that was spreading across his face. "You've found a house for us? Do tell."

Verix laughed, and with a clean flick of her blade, severed a nearby tree, letting it fall with a leafy thunk, taking delight in the sound. She would have pointed her wand at it and set it up into flames, but for now, she didn't exactly feel so.

"That'd be cool." Deep down inside, Verix didn't mind acting like a sweet girl in front of Ayako. It took her mind of her emotional fits at times. (She did notice she got lesser random spurts around her grandmother) Liking to create chaos didn't mean she had to do it all the time.

"Remember that idiot blabbermouth I told you about?" She snorted. "I was thinking we could pay her a visit."

Derix hopped up and landed softly on the fallen tree, letting his colorful tails hang over the edge. He flicked out a leaf that had wedged itself into his metal paw when he had ripped up the bush before looking back up at Verix.

"Well then, that's settled," he continued firmly. "We'll go invade their home after we get one of our own." So many plans for the future. All they needed to do was to take action.

"Idiot blabbermouth?" he inquired with a sneer. "What was her name? Harayaki or something ridiculous of the sort?" From what he'd heard from his sister, the idiot in question was related to them. Of all things, Derix thought with a mental roll of his eyes. Still, at least it provided a house for them to claim. "Where does she live? Maybe I can portal us there."

Indeed, there were so many plans to make now that they were adults. She supposed this was what Pez meant by having to do plans for the Apocalypse and the Horsemen...except that involved certain doom, and she had somewhere to live, at least.

"Something along those lines." She didn't care about Hiroyuki's name. All she knew that although she was family, she hated that loudmouth tattler. Talk, talk, talk about absolute nonsense. "Somewhere near Great-grandfather's house. Uncle actually dragged me there once." She narrowed her eyes. "Thought he could get me to apologize for attacking her."

"Great-grandfather's house, eh? I think I know where that is." Xelon had taken him there once, just to meet his great grandparents. A bunch of bookworm softies, the lot of them. He snorted and slid off the tree trunk, shaking his fur clean.

"Anyone else living with her? Best to know how many we're dealing with first." He cringed to think that all of them might be like her. Loud, obnoxious, annoying... Heck, they were doing the world a favor if that were the case. Derix readied a portal with a wave of his non-metal paw, turning to wait for Verix to follow.

"Oh, Daddums tried to get you to read and study like a good little boy?" She herself had read some magic books, but mostly Xanul had taught her the spells she knew. She had forced him, actually.

But she was getting a sneaking suspicion that he was hiding some useful spells from her. The "Examine books on magic for more spells" were another task on her list.

"I think she has a sister with her." Blue eyes narrowed. "With a fan." Verix laughed her head off when she had seen it, and Xanul had to drag her inside the portal, fearing they would hear, and seriously regretting that he had even tried to get her to apologize. She bounded into the portal as he opened it, grinning. Mmm, this would be fun.
